3 Sign In The application requires you to enter your existing Hub I and Password. If you do not have a Hub I and Password, tap the request access link to be transferred to the Markit Hub request page. If you have forgotten your password, you may reset it via the Forgot Password link. You must enter a valid Hub I and Password. The Request ccess link will launch the Markit Hub (website) Request ccess page This link launches the ipad client with support@markit.com as the recipient. 4 Visualization The Hub dashboard visualizes research publishing trends across asset classes and timeframes. The Visualization may be refreshed upon request. You may choose any two providers to display in the ashboard Ideally, we also need to add one slide that shows the provider dropdown open. Tapping the Refresh button will update the visualization. Each box represents a set of document headlines within that asset class segment and timeframe; tapping a column of boxes will display those headlines for drill down. Timeframes will vary to accommodate the rate of publishing for any given segment. 4 / Hub User Guide

5 Visualization \ Headlines Tapping on any column in the visualization will reveal a set of headlines represented by that column of boxes. One to five documents are represented by each box, according to publication volume; a column s worth of headlines is displayed with each tap. You may only see headlines for the research providers to which you are entitled. The headline list will scroll when there are more than five available for viewing. 5 / Hub User Guide

6 Stream The stream displays all incoming content to which you are entitled. This page will always default to the most recent research. You may proceed directly to the Stream page via the top level navigation.. You may filter research by a variety of categories (details on the Search page). Search results are presented in chronological order; additional sorts will be available in future versions. F Items that correspond to an active alert are labeled as such. E E Items are grouped per day, then week/month. Totals are indicated at the top of each grouping. G F The blue Plus icon is used to save an individual document to the riefcase, where it can be stored and retrieved, even when offline. fter a document has been saved in the riefcase, the plus is removed. 8 Search \ Type head s you type in the Search box, Smart Search results are dynamically generated below. s you type, Smart Search results are dynamically generated based on the characters as you enter them. You may select any option displayed below to execute that search. If you simply hit Enter, a full text search will be executed. Search suggestions in the ompanies section are based on a search of company name for the characters entered, then the first three most relevant companies are displayed. E Search suggestions in the uthors (nalysts) section are based on a search of author names for the characters entered, then the first three most relevant analysts are displayed. Search suggestions in the Reports section are based on a search documents for the characters entered, then the most relevant research is displayed by title. E Search suggestions in the Filters section are based on a search of the Markit Hub taxonomy for the characters entered, then the most relevant filters are displayed. 8 / Hub User Guide

9 Filtered Search You may perform full text searches through Hub content, and narrow search results by any currently available filter. You may combine full text searches with filters (text first, then add filters); search progress is indicated at top. E vailable filters are displayed initially; tapping will drill down one level to display the choices for that filter. You may go back a step by tapping the ack arrow. Selected filters are indicated in blue, with a X at left to remove it. E Search results may be saved in a variety of ways (see Search Save Search). 9 / Hub User Guide

10 Filters pplied You may view the filters you have already applied to your search. You can view the filters you have selected and applied thus far by swiping the filter list to the left. You can return to the selectable filter list by swiping to the right. 10 / Hub User Guide

11 Save Search You can save searches, whether generated by Smart Search, a full text search, search filtering, or a combination of those. You can save search queries to run continuously or on demand. The search queries themselves are saved to your riefcase. Search titles may be any length. Queries (in addition to results) may be saved in the riefcase, and directed to a specific collection. search can be set up to include an alert, which runs the search query continuously against new content (status = on). You will be notified of new hits in real time, via a visual indicator next to the Stream navigation link, and may also request push notifications (status = push), where the indicator also appears on the Markit Hub icon on your home page (or wherever the icon has been placed). Lastly, search results may be set to save to a your riefcase automatically (status = download). You may also direct results to a specific collection (see riefcase pages for more detail). 11 / Hub User Guide

12 Report Reading, With Menu You have the option of viewing research with the top level navigation, logo and search box open (as seen) or closed. The small icon at bottom can be tapped to remove a majority of the menus much like the functionality of iooks. You may easily navigate back to the Search Results page using the blue arrow. You may view the document with the document information rolled down from the top of the page. E nalyst names are linked to their walls (see nalyst Wall page). This icon indicates the number of notes that have been added to this document. E You may add notes to a document by tapping dd a Note button to launch a notes input box. F ocuments may be saved to the riefcase for later review by tapping the Save to riefcase button. ocuments may also be directed to an existing collection, or a new collection may be created. 13 Report Reading, Without Menu You may also remove the upper navigation, logo and search box from view, for a cleaner presentation. Once in full page mode, a tap on this icon will return the navigation and document information at the top. 13 / Hub User Guide

14 reate Note You may add notes to a document by tapping the dd a Note button to launch a notes input box. 15 Save ocument to Folder You can save your document annotations, which are not visible to other app users. The annotated (or unannotated) document may be saved to an existing collection in your riefcase, or a new collection may be created. Tap one when complete. 15 / Hub User Guide

16 riefcase The riefcase is a storage area within the Research pp. You may select content to keep in the riefcase, and that content will be available offline. riefcase may contain static documents, and content that will always be up to date. Saved Searches can be flagged to auto-download reports. Reports, Saved Searches (Filters) and saved nalysts (also Filtered lists of content) can be saved to the riefcase from various locations in the application: ll items placed in the briefcase are saved to the ipad for offline reading. Within the briefcase, all of the above items can be organized further into collections, the icon representation at the left side of the screen. ollections may be created and edited. Tapping on a saved search will re-execute that search. 16 / Hub User Guide

17 riefcase \ Edit The contents of the riefcase (and the collections) can be edited or deleted. Tapping the Edit ollections button puts you into edit mode, where existing collections may be edited, moved or deleted. Individual documents may be selected using the available radio buttons, then deleted or moved using the elete or Move buttons (see #1). Tapping the blue X next to an existing collection will delete that collection. 17 / Hub User Guide

18 nalyst Wall \ Latest Research Individual analysts walls contain their latest research, as well as access to an analyst s profile. licking on the blue arrow returns you to the originating document.
