3 1 Systematic summarize 1.1 System structure Solar power monitoring system is special software for Solar power generation systems. Through power line communication technology to realize data communication, main functions are equipment work condition monitoring, equipment capacity data monitoring, equipment capacity in day, week and month curve analysis. To operate Solar power monitoring system you must install Solar generating system first. There are two components necessary, that s Solar communication micro inverter and WVC Modem. Solar generation system and power monitoring system basic structure shows like below: 1.2 System function brief Monitoring of devices working condition Solar power monitoring system through power line communication technology to monitor each micro inverter working condition in real time. Users can prompt know each inverter working condition, so can make a quick response when there have any micro inverter in fault or anomalies. Devices control function (Administrator Functions) End users can directly control each micro inverter through Solar power monitoring system. Main control function including shutdown, starting up, shutdown all, starting up all, adjust the power, all power adjustment, etc. Devices generation capacity data monitoring Solar power monitoring system takes sample from the real time current, voltage and temperature to calculate every micro inverter generating capacity and store it in the real time. 1

4 Devices generating capacity in day, week and month curve analysis Solar power monitoring system can draw curves of each or more micro inverter for users to analyze the trend of power generation system through the generating data on the real time data acquisition. 1.3 Performance Solar power monitoring system is a set which regards the real time monitoring as the target of monitoring system. The brief performance index show like below: Each WVC Modem control 100 units WVC inverter max.; Each PC can connect 6 units WVC Modem max.(the quantity of the Modem should connect with the PC match the number of the USB concentrator and USB port, the max number is 6 units); Keep refreshing the equipment in turn for each 0.5 seconds; Save the information of generate electricity in present time for each 5 minutes. 1.4 Words explanation WVC Modem: WVC Modem is a data collector which specially research and development for Solar communication power generation systems. Through the device can collect data and control communications 24 hours uninterruptedly. Group: Solar power generation system affirms 1 WVC Modem can control and manage 100 sets of micro inverter and it is the most reasonable quantity through the long term research. In Solar monitoring system, 1 WVC Modem and its management of the micro inverters call a group. Device number:there has a settled number inside each of the micro inverter in Solar power generation system. Group number:solar communication generation system s group number is settled in WVC Modem, each group has a WVC Modem as data collection and management of the communications equipment, each WVC Modem also have a fixed numbers. 2 Operating environment 2.1 Request of hardware equipment Solar power monitoring system is special software for Solar s power generation systems. It has no special requirements to computer hardware. The general mainstream computer can be competent the operation requirement for Solar power monitoring system. Below is the list of the software requirements for the computer hardware: 1 CPU:More than 2.0GHz,recommend dicaryon more than 3.0GHz; 2 RAM:More than 1G,recommend more than2g; 3 Hard disk:more than 80G,recommend more than 160G; 4 Display card:more than 128M video memory,recommend more than 512M discrete graphics; 5 Operation system:windows XP SP2 or above,recommend Windows XP SP3 or above 2

5 2.2 Support software Solar power monitoring system is a set of tool software. It can realized the operation green processing after copy. Operating system: Windows XP or above operating systems do not need to install any support software can be normal operation. The data storage used database system is built in embedded database, do not need additional installation. 2.3 Data structure Solar power monitoring system data have four kinds: 1 System data:the system data saves the essential parameters and middle data in the system operation process. This data file can not be deleted and the storage location is: Solar power monitoring system installation directory \ SysData \ KDMSYSTEM. FDB; 2 Tabulate data:tabulate data saves all the generation tabulate data in the system operation process. This data file can not be deleted and the storage location is: Solar power monitoring system installation directory \ SysData \ KDMSYSTEM. FDB; 3 Detail data:detail Data saves all the detail generation data in the system operation process. Detail Data is consists of some files and the files are named by year. For example, FDB is the detail Data for 2013 and the storage location is: Solar power monitoring system installation directory \ SysData \ KDMSYSTEM. FDB. The detail Data files can be deleted, but after deletion the year s detail Data cannot enquiry again and the system will automatically establish a a blank Data file for that year; 4 Template data:template data file is the template for all kinds of data files. This data file can not be deleted, after delete the system will not be able to establish the detailed data file for the system, the storage location is: Solar power monitoring system installation directory \ SysData\ KDMSYSTEM. FDB; 3 System operating instructions Solar power monitoring system is the a important part of Solar communication generating system, each component of closely related. The system control and data flow process show like below: 3

6 3.1 System install and uninstall Solar power monitoring system with very simple installation, need a few times of simple click the mouse can finish install. Below actual installation drawing as instructions: 1 Insert CD for system installation. open file KDMSetup*.zip, double click to running installation program, select install interface language, Shows like below: 4

7 2 Click Next button enter the next step installation directory choose interface. In the interface you can choose Solar power generation system for deposited directory path, default is "C: \ KDMSystem4.3\". We do not recommend storage in system disk (usually C disk), because as the operation of the system, system daily data will be more and more. Generally, system disk space is not large, system data will be very easy to fill the system disk, then it causes a system can't continue to store the data. We suggest to install the system in large space disks, in order to ensure that the system can long term stable operation. 3 Click Next button enter the preparation installation interface, show likes below: 5

10 6 Click "Finish" button to finish Solar power monitoring system installation. After finished the installation, the system will automatically establish Solar power monitoring system desktop shortcut and establish menu items in the start menu It s very simple to uninstall Solar power monitoring system, only need to click the uninstall menu item can enter uninstall process:. 1 Click the start menu 2 Click 3 Uninstall program to be automatic operation, until the complete un installation. 11 3.2 System operation Operation Solar power monitoring system only need to double click desktop shortcut or click the start menu shortcuts. After start operation it will show a system Splash form, and the system guide interface will be auto close. If the system is the first time to operate it will pop up the initial interface (the initial methods please reference section 4.3). If the system is not the first time to operate it will turn on the main interface (the main interface use method please refer to section 4.4); 3.3 System initialization To use Solar power monitoring system you must initialize first. You can initialize again at any time during the normal operation. The main function of the system initialization is to get the equipment quantity of the management for the setting system and some necessary operation parameters. The equipment quantity of the management for the setting system must be set through the initial, the system operation parameters can also be adjusted at any time in the system Settings. 12 System setting: The Company Name bar is to set up the name of the user, you can enter any character, and the longest byte is 255; 10

Auto polling after connection,after selection the system can auto inquiry every inverters. Day graph time shaft is to set up the time of system record, you can enter 24 hour time system. Above five bars you can keep default, does not affect the system operation; Protocol is to set up communication protocol with WVC Modem. Modem port is to write down the Com port connection of modem and computer, system can read all port no. of computer, then pls confirm the port no. connection of modem and computer. it means restore the system default settings. it is to save all settings you set up in the system. it is to delete all changes you set up in the system. The settings of MODEM and INVERTER: Modem ID is to write down the ID of Modem; Serial number list of the inverter: No. is the sequence number of inverter s software; Model is the model of inverter; Patrolling? Is to set the inverter to participate in polling ID is the inverter s ID; No.1. is to delete the contents of the selected item in the inverter numbered lists, such as delete the contents of is to delete the contents of the inverter numbered lists; Is to set all inverters to participate in polling; Is to set the inverter not to participate in polling; 11

16 4 System Operation FAQs 4.1 Attention of the WVC Modem Do not pull out with power. Plug in or out the modem should after shut down the power. Or with damage the port of the WVC Modem. 4.2 How to deal with System online failure? There are reasons for System online failure the following below, please kindly check: 1. Check the initialization settings. The initial numbers and the number of group have a direct effect on connecting online, please carefully check the numbers range of WVC Modem and the parameters of the initialization settings to keep relative uniformity, and try again; 2. Check WVC Modem initialization completed or not. Connect online would start after WVC Modem initialization completed. First it will take about 1 minute to initialize a group of all the inverters after power on and the blue light will be continually flashing and stop until initialization finished. In the processing, WVC Modem has no reaction for any external communication requests; 4.3 How to deal with failures to turn on/off or adjust power? In general, response time of Solar Monitoring System instruction execution depends on the speed of PC. The faster PC runs, the shorter response time will be. Please wait a second if the system instruction is not immediately answered, and try to send instruction again if no prompt of Success with waiting several seconds because the instruction maybe lost in the power line carrier current communication processing, although the probability is low, the possibility still exits. 5 Thanks!
