2 Welcome to v2.28 of RM Unify RM Unify v2.28 is here. There are currently a number of features in field trial status before general release in September, including Desktop single sign-on, and a new version of RM Unify Active Directory Sync (AD Sync V3). Details of those features will be announced over the coming months. New features in RM Unify V2.28: Glow and CSV provisioned users can keep their Google Apps and RM Unify passwords insync (for Android App and Chromebook access). Teaching and Non-Teaching staff users in Glow are able to manually trigger a Glow Establishment Transfer at login time. Reminder of a feature from v2.26 of RM Unify: It is now possible to view a list of users in your Establishment with the Admin user privilege. If you have groups configured in RM Unify, a new group has been added to the Groups page in the RM Unify Management Console named Administrators. This displays a list of users who have fully administrative control over your RM Unify Establishment. 3 1. RM Unify and Google Apps passwords synced Google Apps requires users to generate a password for use of devices such as Chromebooks and for access to Andriod apps such as Gmail and Google Drive. This has previously been a separate password to your RM Unify password. In RM Unify it was possible to generate this password against your user profile, but passwords were not kept in sync, and were hard to remember. There are two features that will make this experience improve: 1. Keeping Google Apps passwords synced with RM Unify passwords for CSV or SEEMiS (Glow) provisioned schools Included within this release (v2.28) 2. Keeping Google Apps passwords synced with AD passwords for AD Sync schools (coming later this summer). Syncing your RM Unify and Google Apps passwords for Glow and CSV provisioned users Follow these steps in order to keep your RM Unify and Google Apps passwords in-sync: When logged into RM Unify as any type of user, click on the name of the user in the top right hand side of the screen. Select Change password from the dropdown menu. Enter your current RM Unify password Enter a new password (this password will apply to your RM Unify account, and will become your new Google Apps password). Re-enter the same password and click change password. When logged in as an RM Unify staff user you have the option to either find an individual user in the RM Unify Management Console, or a group of users via the Groups page, and then select change password from the actions dropdown. Enter a new password for the user or group of users (this password will apply to your RM Unify account, and will become your new Google Apps password). There may be a short delay in this change flowing through to Google Apps. Google Apps password sync for RM Unify AD Sync users Later this year, we will be releasing an updated version of RM Unify AD Sync: RM Unify AD Sync v3. His upgrade will enable Google Apps password sync as well as single sign-on from Windows Desktop and Google Chromebook devices. The release of AD Sync v3 is anticipated to be announced in September RM Education 2015 Page 3 of 5

5 2. Establishment Transfer option for Glow staff after login In Glow, staff users are able to transfer their Glow identity and content (username, password, Office 365 mailbox, Office 365 OneDrive content) from one Establishment to another. In the majority of cases during school moves this is done automatically via a message from SEEMiS to RM Unify. It s now also possible for an individual member of staff to action this establishment transfer manually without having to wait for an Administrator user to action this for them. How to manually transfer your Glow account from one RM Unify Establishment to another This action is only possible when a staff record has been created in SEEMiS in a school, but not yet removed from a previous/existing school. RM Unify Administrator users in the new school are able to manually transfer a user into their school if the SEEMiS record has been created. Individual users now don t have to wait for this to happen in order to transfer their content. When your new SEEMiS record has been created in your new school, you ll be presented with a transfer option next time you log in to Glow. The name of the new school will be presented to you on the screen, with the option to transfer your account to it. There are a number of options at this stage. Click Transfer your account to new school, Ask me later or Stay in your current school depending on the action you wish to take.
