3 1 WebDAV Clearance via Administrator Using WebDAV normally postulated local memory of a user name and password and is, for security reasons, thus only recommended if the device is in a trustworthy environment. For this reason, idgard disposes of a setting that deactivates WebDAV upfront. In other words, your administrator must explicitly activate WebDAV. For Class 2 and Class 3 protection as per Trusted Cloud Data Protection Protocol, we recommend not activating WebDAV. Log on to using your User Name & Password. If your account is linked to a Login-Card, you must create a one-time code, too. 3

4 You are now in the Box-Overview. Click on Menu Click Administration Click Settings 4

5 Check Enable WebDAV Afterwards save settings Exit current view and go back to box overview. You have stored your setting, and all your employees can now use idgard- Boxes as WebDAV drive. 5

6 2 WebDAV Links Click on the following WebDAV link, if you wish to integrate all your idgard Privacy Boxes into a drive: Click Menu Click Settings 6

7 Click Add-ons Copy the WebDAV URL. This URL connects all your Privacy Boxes to one drive. If you wish to avoid having to type the URL manually, see my.idgard.de, where Web- DAV links are available as QR code. 7

8 Another option is to integrate single idgard Privacy Boxes via WebDAV individually. Your Privacy Boxes respective URL may be found in the Box settings. E.g.: Click on the Box you wish to embed into WebDAV as drive(left list view / right grid view ) Click Edit Box 8

9 Click WebDAV settings Copy into WebDAV link. This URL links your Privacy Box as WebDAV drive. If you wish to avoid having to type the URL manually, go to my.idgard.de, where WebDAV links are available as QR code. 9

10 3 WebDAV Integration for Windows Click your Windows Explorer or Start Computer and then Map network drive. Follow the WebDAV URL, to integrate all Boxes at once. If you prefer integrating only single folders individually, enter the WebDAV URL in the field next to Folder, then check the respective boxes, and click Finish. Checking Reconnect at logon allows your Privacy Box to appear as a drive when you reboot and to be connected directly. For improved performance, we recommend checking Connect using different credentials. 10

11 You now find, analogous to your web app overview, either single Privacy Boxes or all Boxes at once. 11

12 4 WebDAV Integration for Mac Click Go to in your Finder Connect to server Enter the WebDAV URL under Server address and click Connect. This will o- pen a new window. Check here, if you wish to store your access data. 12

13 If you want your Boxes connected automatically when re-starting, enter this under System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Current User -> Add. As per Web application overview, the selected Privacy Box and its respective content are now shown as drive. 13

14 5 Q&A Problem Logging on Anew (Network Folder, Windows 7)? Currently, when idgard Boxes are connected to WebDAV per Full Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) as network folder and not as drive, you may have a difficulty logging on anew to Windows, due to Windows 7 s WebDAV Client trouble. Workaround: set-up the WebDAV drive as described in the instruction manual. WebDAV Too Slow? (Accelerating Your Network Drive) The connection to WebDAV can be accelerated per Internet Explorer browser setting. This setting also speeds up your WebDAV if you re not an Internet Explorer user. Access Internet Explorer. Click Extras, and go to Internet options. Click on the Connections tab in the pop-up. Click LAN settings below. Remove the check mark next to Find settings automatically. WebDAV Download: Over 50 MB? Simply change the entry in the (Windows) Registry: Click Start and enter regedit in the search mask. Then press the ENTER key or click regedit.exe. A user account control security check will appear. Confirm with Yes, to access the Registration Editor. Note: It is not possible to access the Registration Editor and modify the maximum download size if you don t confirm the security check. In the Registration Editor, follow the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WebClient\Parameters In the Parameters folder, you find the DWORD FileSizeLimitInBytes. Double-click, to access the modification mode. In the modification mode, you can adjust the DWORD value in the basis hexadecimal up to its maximum ffffffff (8-fold) value. Click OK, to confirm the modification. Then close your Registration Editor and re-connect your WebDAV drive. Note: You may now download files up to a maximum size defined by your system software. Now simply re-start. 14

15 Why Can t Some Boxes be Accessed via WebDAV? One reason might be special characters in or at the end of a Box name, e.g.:. / : You can only access your idgard Boxes through your WebDAV interface if the Box name corresponds with your OS (Windows, Mac) nomenclature. I.e., you might be able to access a Box or even download files via idgard but unable to access them via WebDAV. If this is the case, simply change the respective Box name in your idgard account by clicking on the green pencil icon in the Box, and remove the special characters from the name. You can now also access this Box via WebDAV. Can You Integrate Just 1 Box into WebDAV? Yes. You can either integrate all Boxes at once into WebDAV or individual Boxes only. To integrate only 1 Box in WebDAV: Enter the Box you wish to display, and right-click on the blue or green Box icon on your top left: Select Add-on (WebDAV). A window with a link designed for this Box will open. Copy this link and proceed according to instructions. Once integration is complete, you will find the individual Box as a drive in your system. If you wish to integrate all Boxes into WebDAV at once, click the Settings tab in your id- GARD account and then Add-ons. Here, you find the link with which to select all Boxes for WebDAV. Now simply proceed according to WebDAV interface integration instructions ( Does WebDAV Support 2FA (2-Factor Authentication)? Yes. For added security, you can also log on to WebDAV with your idgard Login Card per 2-factor authentication. Before starting, your Login Card key must be connected to your account. You can do this yourself in your idgard account s Admin area, by entering your Login Card No. in your personal settings (see back, above the bar code). Logon per WebDAV via Login Card: Integrate WebDAV into your system. Logon via WebDAV, as is customary, with your id- GARD User Name & Password, and simply enter add a new Login Card TAN next to your Password (without adding a space, etc.) Example: passwort Still need an idgard Login Card? 16 How to Upload Large Files into idgard with WebDAV: If you have already integrated WebDAV and wish to upload large files or are experiencing poor Internet access, uploads of over 30 minutes can lead to time-out. In this case, simply increase the time limit on your computer as follows: Click the Windows button, enter regedit.exe in the search field, and click. -Then follow this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MRxDAV\Parameters\FsC tlrequesttimeoutinsec Double-click FsCtlRequestTimeoutInSec. This will open a window. Switch from Hexadecimal to Decimal by clicking the latter, and increase the number there to, e.g., stands for seconds and, thus, 30 minutes. By increasing the total to 3600 seconds, your total file upload time is increased to 60 minutes, before the time limit is reached and ended by time-out. Click OK, to confirm your settings. You can now restart your upload. 16
