4 1. Introduction The purpose of this guide is to provide guidance to users on how to use ThinkFree Office for ThinkFree Office Server Edition. The ThinkFree Office Server Edition User page provides a list of features: 1. ThinkFree Office icons ThinkFree Write, Calc, Show 2. ThinkFree Office Server Edition Storage login 3. Downloadable User Guide 4. Downloadable ThinkFree Office Suite Guide: 5. URL for installing ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher 6. Available Launcher for Windows, Mac, Linux 7. Available ThinkFree Server Mobile for Android (*.apk) that will be synchronized with the server 1.1. Running ThinkFree Office Server Edition You can start the user page in your browser to run ThinkFree Office Server Edition: To log in to the storage in your browser, go to the URL and enter the text as shown below after checking that the server is running. 5 If you have installed ThinkFree Office Server on the local disk, use the following default URL Running ThinkFree Office Server Edition Office suite You can run ThinkFree Office Server Edition Office suite in four ways: Click the launch icon located on the left side of the screen after accessing the user page. Click the shortcut icon on your desktop after you install ThinkFree Office Server Edition launcher. Click New on the menu bar at the Storage login page. Simply click any file on My Office or Shared With Me after logging in to the storage ThinkFree Office Server Edition Storage Login ThinkFree Office Server Edition Storage makes it possible to save, edit and share files and documents. In order to use the storage, you must have your own account. After completing registration, you can use it right away. Ask your administrator to create your new account if you do not have. 1. Click the login icon on the main page. 2. Type your user ID and password, and then click Login. 3. Click Forgot your password? to have a temporary password sent to you in case you forget your password. 2. Installing ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher Instead of using the user page, you can use the ThinkFree Office Server Edition launcher to run ThinkFree Office Write, Calc, and Show directly from your desktop. From the user page, corresponding installation files for the ThinkFree Office Server Edition launcher will be available for each of the operating platforms. To install ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher, choose and download for your platform, and run the install wizard. 1. Select the correct installation file for your operating system, download it to the computer: For Windows Select the Windows Installer file (launcher.exe). For Linux Select the Linux Installer file (launcher.sh). For Mac Select the Mac Installer file (launcher.dmg). 2. After downloading is complete, go to the folder where the downloaded file is stored. 3. Double-click the install file to process the installation. [3/14]

7 4. Installing Launcher Selecting the language Click OK after selecting the language. Starting the Install Wizard Click Next to start installing ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher. Reviewing the License Agreement The terms of the agreement appears. Please read the license agreement carefully and then check I accept the agreement. Click Next to continue with the installation [4/14]

8 Entering the URL Write down the ThinkFree Office Server Edition URL. Click Next to continue with the installation Selecting the Start Menu folder Click on the check box to create shortcuts. Click Next to continue with the installation [5/14]

9 Select additional tasks Select Desktop Shortcut and File associations options Click Next to continue with the installation Extracting files Wait while the Installer extracts, and then save files If you want to stop the installation, click Cancel. [6/14]

10 Exiting the Installer Click Finish to close the installer Installation will be complete as you set up. [7/14]

11 5. Installing ThinkFree Office Mobile for Android ThinkFree Office Mobile for Android (hereafter ThinkFree Mobile ) is a mobile office suite designed to run on Android-based devices. The storage linked to thinkfree.com for earlier version of ThinkFree Office Mobile on the Android Market is used to be offered to the users who purchase ThinkFree Server. Therefore, the features of Write, Calc, and Show are the same as earlier version for Android-based devices. ( ThinkFree Mobile is downloadable on the mobile web page. 1. Tap Download Android App on the bottom of the mobile web page. 2. Tap Install to install ThinkFree Mobile on your device after the download is complete. The location ( of the APK file is changeable for downloading. [8/14]

12 6. Using ThinkFree Office Mobile for Android After ThinkFree Mobile is completely installed, the Home tab selected as shown below appears. To use ThinkFree Mobile on your device, perform the following steps. 1. Tap the Server tab. 2. Enter the username, password, and ThinkFree Server address. 3. Tap Sign in. [9/14]

13 To edit the file stored on the server using the mobile device, perform the following steps. 1. Tap and hold the file on the Online tab you want to edit until the item menu appears. 2. Tap Download on the menu list to download the target file to My Docs. 3. Open the target file on the My Docs tab and edit it. 4. Save the edited file on My Docs. 5. Tap and hold the target file on My Docs until the item menu appears. 6. Tap Upload. 7. Specify the location to where you want to upload the target file and then tap Choose. If a file with the same name of the target file exists on the server, it will be overwritten with your confirmation. Or, you can rename the target file on My Docs and then upload it to the server to prevent overwriting the file on the server. [10/14]

15 7. FAQ 1. An error similar to the image below occurs while attempting to open a document Cause: The main cause of this error is due to the default browser cache not having enough memory to cover the large size of the document, inserted images or media files. Resolution: If your computer has enough available memory, then please follow the instructions listed below. Systems > control panel > Java > Click 'view' under Java applet runtime settings. Java Increase the Heap memory size in the Java runtime parameters section. The default Heap memory setting value is 64MB. We recommend that you set the size of the memory to 25% of the original setting. E.g. If the memory size is 1GB - Xmx256m (max: 256MB) [12/14]

Associate your current word, spreadsheet, and presentation files with ThinkFree Office Server Edition 1 Install ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher (*Check the option ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher File Association in Select Additional Tasks wizard page). 2 In step 1, if you did not check the option ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher File Association or it did not work properly, after finishing the installation (also if you have already installed ThinkFree Office Server Edition Launcher on your computer), follow these steps to choose the program you wish to open with your files. A. Open the folder that contains the file you want to associate. B. Right-click the file that you want to associate, choose Open With then click Choose Program or select the program that you want to open the file with. If you want this file to always open with the same program, select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box, and then click OK. 3 After completing step 2, B, if you are experiencing a problem with associating your files with ThinkFree Office, please follow the steps below. A. Click Start, Run and type regedit and press the Enter key. B. Go to the following location: KEY_CLASSES_ROOT>Applications>tfwrite.exe (or tfcalc.exe or tfshow.exe)>shell>open>command C. Check the Command data value is corresponding to the location where the Launcher is currently installed and then modify it as shown below (tfwrite.exe, tfcalc.exe and tfshow.exe are same): "C:\Program Files\ThinkFree Office Server Edition\Launcher\tfwrite.exe" "%1" [13/14]

17 D. Repeat step 2 above. 3. An image of the HTML document abnormally appears Cause: The Viewer is set as the default editor to open files with. Resolution: Request your system administrator to change the office mode. 4. Clicking the office icon has no effect (The desktop office is not opened) Cause: The IP address for ThinkFree Office Server Edition has been changed Resolution 1 Reinstall the launcher with the new IP address 2 Go to the launcher installation location (e.g. C:\Program Files\ThinkFree Office Server Edition\Launcher) to modify the IP address in the server.info file after opening it in a text editor. 3 Save the changes to the file, and run Office again. 5. When you try to open or save a document, you cannot see a different file location (except local drive), such as network drive in ThinkFree Office Cause: The fin is opened in 2 or more tabs or browser windows. Resolution 1 Save your document to a local hard disk. 2 Close all browser windows, and then try to open or save your document in new browser window. 8.
