2 Section 1 Download Files: Go to Login to your account. Once logged in, go to Resources, Software Updates and click AutoPilot Update. Click on AutoPilot Software Updater to download file. Before downloading the box software file you will need to determine which file you need. Do this by comparing your controller box located beneath your frame to the photos shown below. You either have a Large Box with one green light Figure 1 - Large Box Or you have a Small Box with several lights *** If you have already updated to version of the software you DO NOT have to download the box software file *** Current version number can be found on the Welcome screen of the software. Figure 2 - Small Box If you have a large box: Click on No LS Large Box to download file if you DO NOT HAVE Lightning Stitch. Click on LS Large Box to download file if you HAVE Lightning Stitch. If you have a small box: Click on No LS Small Box to download file if you DO NOT HAVE Lightning Stitch. Click on LS Small Box to download file if you HAVE Lightning Stitch. Download files onto thumb drive and be sure to extract file if it is zipped. To extract files, right-click on the file with the zipper, and choose Extract All from the dropdown menu. Insert thumb drive into AutoPilot computer. Copy files to AutoPilot computer desktop. Eject and remove thumb drive. 2

3 Section 2 Update Box Software: *** NOTE: ONLY COMPLETE SECTION 2 IF YOU DID NOT UPDATE TO VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE *** Current version number can be found on the Welcome screen of the software. Click Start Click All Programs Click Emerald Program Downloader folder Click Emerald Program Downloader. The Emerald Program Downloader will now open. Note If you are on Windows 8 look for the LOADER folder on your desktop. Inside the LOADER folder will be the Program Downloader. Double-click on this to open the Emerald Program Downloader. Now you need to find out what COM port you are using. Go to the Start menu, in the search bar type Device Manager. Click on Device Manager. Note If you are on Windows 8 look for the Device Manager shortcut on your Desktop. Doubleclick on it to open Device Manager. The Device Manager window will appear. Click the plus icon on the Ports (COM & LPT), you will see something listed there. If you do not see anything listed, make sure your USB cord from your controller box is connected to your computer. In parenthesis it will tell you what COM port it is using. Remember this number. Go back to the Emerald Program Downloader, and select your COM port from the dropdown menu. If you have a small box, under the Controller Type dropdown menu select LMC-400. If you have a large box, under the Controller Type dropdown menu select EMC Under the dropdown for baud rate, make sure is selected. If it isn t, select it now. NOTE: There is a possibility that you don t see a menu for baud rate, this is OK. Click File then Open. Click the folder icon with an arrow (outlined in red on Figure 1) twice to get to the Desktop. 4 Select the box software file that is on your desktop. If you have a large box WITHOUT Lightning Stitch, select the box software file (s3844rv_no_ls.exf) that is in the nols_large folder on your desktop. If you have a large box WITH Lightning Stitch, select the box software file (s3844rv.exf) that is in the LS_large folder on your desktop. If you have a small box WITHOUT Lightning Stitch, select the box software file (s4017rl_no_ls.exf) that is in the nols_small folder on your desktop. If you have a small box WITH Lightning Stitch, select the box software file (s4017rl.exf) that is in the LS_small folder on your desktop. Click Open (outlined in blue on Figure 1). If you have a small box WITH Lightning Stitch the Program Downloader should look like Figure 2. If you have a small box WITHOUT Lightning Stitch the Program Downloader should look like Figure 3. If you have a large box WITH Lightning Stitch the Program Downloader should look like Figure 4. If you have a large box WITHOUT Lightning Stitch the Program Downloader should look like Figure 5. Note: If after clicking Download Program and you receive an error that says There has been a communication TimeOut. Do you wish to reconnect? Choose No, then change the baud rate to and try again. When finished exit the Program Downloader. 5

6 Section 3 Install Software: Double-click on the AutoPilot Software Updater folder on the desktop. Double-click on the AutoPilot Software Updater.exe (Application). The software updater will appear. Figure 6 AutoPilot Updater Click on the UPDATE button. NOTE: If you receive a message stating you need to ABM to update your software, please us at update@innovalongarm.com to speak with a technician. You will see a progress bar start to go across. Once the progress bar has gone all the way across, press the EXIT button. AutoPilot has now been updated to version

7 Section 4 Import ALL Patterns: *** NOTE: ONLY COMPLETE SECTION 4 IF YOU DID NOT UPDATE TO VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE *** Current version number can be found on the Welcome screen of the software. To make sure that your patterns work properly with the new version of the software you will need to reimport them. Note: This process can take quite a bit of time depending on how many patterns you have. Please be patient. Do this by opening AutoPilot. Then go to the Pattern Library menu. Click Import Pattern. When the Import Pattern window opens, on the left go to C: Then go to Program Files (x86) Then go to AUTOPILOT Then go to DATA Then go to PATTERN You will then see the list of all your patterns. Click the Select All button. Click the Import button. A message will appear stating No tags were selected. Imported patterns will not be tagged. Are you sure? click Yes on the message box. This will NOT erase your pre-existing tags. Please wait while your patterns are reimported. 7
