2 Introduction These instructions cover the installation of Waves software necessary to run Tracks Live on a PC / Mac for use with CDC eight or six: AIM: There are two main ways a system may use Tracks Live with a console. The first method involves using Waves MultiRack software already installed on your console. The second method requires Waves SoundGrid Studio to be installed on your PC / Mac This document describes the recommended PC software installation which will support either method. (The instructions apply equally well to a Mac though the detail of the instructions will vary.) Note: Any additional uses an individual may have for use of Waves software on their PC / Mac may be affected by this install. These instructions cover those MINIMUM software elements necessary to support Tracks Live with a console. The use of a PC / Mac to run plugins / MultiRack etc.is beyond the scope of this installation. A separate document is available - Cadac Waves Track Live - which describes the setup and use of Tracks using either method. IMPORTANT: There are some essential Windows updates that may be missing from your console and may cause errors if not installed. Refer to the NOTES section at the end of this document Page 2 of 19

4 1. Requirements These instructions are written for a PC, you may use a Mac but ensure you download the correct media. What you will need PC/Mac with internet access, to the following specification: Minimum PC Requirement CPU Intel i5 RAM 8 GB Operating System Windows 7 64 bit / Windows bit / Windows bit Screen Resolution 1024 x bit Audio interface: ASIO/ Core Audio compatible Minimum Mac Requirement CPU Memory Operating System Screen Resolution Audio interface: Intel Core i3 8 GB RAM / for ProTools 10 only Minimum: 1024x768 Recommended: 1280x1024 / 1600x1024 ASIO/ Core Audio compatible Online Waves Account with Cadac Driver Licence (Distributers / customers should acquire their own licence by registering their console on the Waves Website: You will need the 14 digit serial number from the label found on the console rear panel. If this is missing please contact Cadac who will supply it to you. Page 4 of 19

7 Select Install and the install process will begin: Tracks is now installed! Click Finish to end program: Page 7 of 19

8 3. Instructions: Installation of SoundGrid Studio and Cadac Drivers through Waves Central On the PC First step is to install Waves Central software. (You may skip this section if you have already installed this software on the PC) Go to Select the Windows icon to download the Installer: Run this exe. Page 8 of 19

9 Click Next at the welcome screen: Select I Accept and Next on the license screen: The installer should run to completion. If you already have Waves Central installed on the console, then continue from here: Page 9 of 19

10 In Explorer, browse to the Waves Central program below: C:\Program Files (x86)\ Waves Central\waves central.exe Then RUN If the following screen appears then select Don t show again and select I Agree : Select OK: Page 10 of 19

12 Enter Waves login details and press Login. The following screen will then appear. Select Online Page 12 of 19

13 You will find options in Box 2 are now available: You must select My products then click on: Cadac Driver (You will need to have added this Driver to your account.ssee NOTES about registering your product) Box 3 will now be updated. Now you must select ALL Waves products and enter SoundGrid in the search box. You should now have the following screen: Page 13 of 19

14 Select SoundGrid Studio 9 This will also now appear in Box 3. At the following screen, select the blue Install button: Select OK: The install process should run to completion (you may be asked to accept Waves software by Windows, click OK). The process will take several minutes At this point you should select OK and restart the PC. Software installation is Complete Page 14 of 19

15 Note 1 If at any time the following errors occur there is an extra step to install a Windows update (this may happen on older CDC eight consoles): The process must be aborted and the following Windows security update must be applied to the console: Windows6.1-KB x64.msu This program may be obtained from the Microsoft website as shown below (stand-alone x64-bit Windows 7 version): Or Page 15 of 19

19 Note 3 If you are installing Waves software you will need a Waves account with the Cadac driver licence included. To do this you must register your console with Waves, who will then add the licence to your chosen Waves account. To register the console please go to the Waves website: You will require the 14 digit Waves serial number for your Cadac console. The Waves serial number can be found on the rear of the console.
