Suprema devices IMPORTANT! Since version , CredoID works with a new Suprema SDK and therefore, no longer supports Suprema devices with firmware version v1.x and only supports firmware v2.x or devices that work with BioStar 2. Devices such as BioStation 1, X-Station, Face Station and the extension module Secure I/O are no longer supported in the newest CredoID version. Due to difficulties in coding between Suprema devices, the only way to change Suprema devices network settings are through Suprema s software BioStar 1.x or BioStar 2.x. There are many Suprema devices, but most follow the same configuration pattern. In this manual, configuration for both Suprema SDK will be presented: the the new (with BioStar 2) and old configuration (with BioStar 1). Configuration for v2.x firmware devices For the new Suprema SDK generation, only devices with firmware version v2.x are functional with CredoID, as older generation firmware v1.x is no longer supported. Devices XPass, XPass S2, BioEntry Plus, BioEntry W, BioLite Net can have their firmware upgraded from v1.x to v2.x, using Suprema s given software. On how to upgrade firmware for these devices, contact your installer or Midpoint Security. Devices, such as BioEntry W2, BioEntry P2 and BioStation 2/A2/L2 come out with support for both BioStar 1.92 and BioStar 2.x, without needing to change the firmware version. A video tutorial on how to configure and add a Suprema device to CredoID can be found here. Configuring network settings for Suprema devices with firmware v2.x Download link: BioStar 2.x All of the devices with firmware v2.x has to be configured in BioStar 2 before connecting to CredoID. Some devices, such as BioEntry W2, BioEntry P2 and BioStation 2/A2/L2, can be configured in BioStar 1.92 too. Note: All Suprema devices with the firmware version v2.x which hasn t yet been configured, have network settings set on DHCP mode. 1. After BioStar 2.x has been installed, open up a web browser and connect to BioStar 2.x web UI with the configured IP and port (IP: [port]). If BioStar 2.x is installed on your system, you can use localhost:[port] to reach the UI. 2. Login to BioStar 2. Default login: ID: admin Password: admin 3. In the BioStar 2 web UI, go to Device tab. Click on Search device to find Suprema devices on your network.
4. After the device has been found, select it and click on Set IP to get to devices network settings. 5. Select the device, uncheck Use DHCP and enable Server connection. Configure devices network settings and the server IP (PC which has CredoID service installed). After configuration is done, click Apply.
6. After the devices network settings have been saved, Launch CredoID software. Before adding the devices, check if Suprema module is enabled on CredoID. To do so, go to Settings tab > Modules > Suprema module and check if the module is enabled if the correct host port is writen (default: 51212). Note: Changing Host port might need a restart for CredoID service. 7. If the Suprema module is enabled and the host port (51212) is not being used by another software (BioStar 1.92 or BioStar 2), the device should have no trouble connecting to CredoID software. In Device tab, click Search for new devices and CredoID will search for any devices that can connect to it. After the device has been found by the CredoID, synchronization between the software and the device is required. To do so, click on Upload all data to controller and all needed data will be sent to the controller.
Use wiegand extended mode - strike relay is activated, if correct credential presented on wiegand reader. Use wiegand to scan cards - this option allows to scan cards on wiegand device. Use wiegand external - strike relay is activated, if correct credential presented on wiegand device or suprema device. Additional door reader configuration is required. Unconditional lock - if enabled, strike relay is released after strike time or when door is opened. Additional "Door locked" event will appear, because by default Suprema devices locks the door, when the door is closed. After the full data upload is done, Suprema device should be synchronized with CredoID and should show up as online. Then further configurations can be made. Suprema Fingerprint formats Suprema has 3 different fingerprint formats: Suprema, ISO and ANSI. These formats can be changed in Settings tab >Modules > Suprema module and change Fingerprint format to a desired one. If in your database there are saved fingerprints with different formats, some Suprema device won t be able to synchronize with CredoID. These fingerprints will need to be deleted and re-added that all fingerprints would have the same format. Known issues and troubleshooting Devices that have fingerprint sensor OC-2, won t work with firwmare v2.x, as the device will have connection issues. Only known fix for it is to switch the OC-2 hardware with OC-4 or OC-5.
Configuration for v1.x firmware devices Checking connections Before configuring Suprema devices network settings, check if it is possible to ping the device. Launch Command Prompt (cmd.exe), type ping [devices IP] and press Enter (the default Suprema devices IP address is ). If the devices is reachable, then skip to Configuring network settings, otherwise PC network settings have to be configured. To do this, go to Network and Sharing Center, access Local connection which has connection to Suprema device. Go to Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and apply a static address with an IP xxx. If there is already a static address, click Advanced and add an IP ( xxx) and gateway ( ) address. Configuring network settings for Suprema devices with firmware v1.x Download link: BioSar 1.92 To configure network settings for Suprema devices, BioStar 1 is required to be installed. For full configuration, XPass will be used as an example. 1. Launch BioStar v1.x. 2. Go to Device tab and click on Add Device.
3. Check LAN and press Next. 4. Check TCP and UDP. In TCP field enter the devices default IP (XPass: ), in the next field type in 1 and select which devices it will be searching for, in this case XPass (1471 port). Click Next.
5. Wait for BioStar to find the device. If BioStar doesn t find it, check if Search and Add Device tab is configured correctly, if not, check network settings. For a quick network configuration, click on the device and configure network settings in Change Network. After configuration is complete, click Modify. For more configurable options, click Next, add the device and configure the device in BioStar s Device tab.
(Optional) Check if the network settings have change by pinging the device in cmd.exe using command ping [device IP]. 6. Launch CredoID and click on Search for new devices button to search for the device and add the device to CredoID. XPass has been successfully added to CredoID.
