3 PROJECT OBJECTIVES GGMC Parking has asked IT By Design to provide recommendations on improving the overall network performance. GGMC Parking is currently operating with a Novell Server and multiple Windows based desktops and laptops. The servers are running Novell Netware 5 and one has outdated hardware. The desktops are outdated Dell workstations running various versions of Windows operating system. Based on an understanding of the environment and our conversations, IT By Design recommends replacing the existing Novell Netware server with a new Windows SBServer 2003 to provide basic network resources. The objective of this project is to ensure a smooth and unobtrusive transition to the new server and to ensure GGMC Parking business tools are fully functional after the computer upgrade. The new server will be built with Windows SBS 2003 and provide all network resources. All server data and applications will be migrated from the existing server to the new server. Each workstation will be reconfigured for connectivity to the new server. Outdated systems will be replaced by new workstations. A technician will visit each desktop and assist the users in any final configurations and standard desktop customizations if necessary. PROPOSED NETWORK 3

4 OVERVIEW OF SERVICES IT By Design will assign a consultant who will complete all necessary tasks and project processes as documented below:! Obtain network documentation and confirm/enhance understanding of network resources, procedures and policies as well as client needs and requirements. Ensure Project will meet and/or exceed client s expectations.! Research and develop project plan and verify consistency. Define timetable and present Project Plan for approval.! Ensure full backup of the data is viable.! Obtain and verity all WAN IP for main location firewall configurations.! Configure and install Sonicwall Pro 2040! Obtain and verify all server configurations and settings.! Install, setup and test new Windows SBS Server. Install patches and updates.! Configure domain structures, user accounts, DNS, DHCP and other network resources.! Migrate all server data from Novell server to new Windows SBS server.! Install, setup and test backup hardware and application.! Visit each user desktop and perform following tasks: a. Add systems to the Domain b. Perform any necessary profile migration. c. Map new server drives and transfer critical data to the server. d. Train user on new server storage locations, shortcuts to those locations and standard daily usage.! Test and verify network connectivity and full functionality.! Provide user support and training.! Project Verification and Quality Control.! Project Close Meeting. 4

5 CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES GGMC Parking will be responsible for the following: 1. GGMC Parking will provide access to the GGMC Parking Offices. 2. GGMC Parking will appoint a designated contact person to provide a list of current users and their corresponding locations. 3. The schedule will be determined by the agreed upon project plan. Prices do not include other project related expenses and must be approved. 4. GGMC Parking will notify users in advance of the pending computer upgrade. ASSUMPTIONS As part of the scope and pricing for this engagement, IT By Design assumes: 1. The scope of this project is limited to the objectives and goals specified in the Service Objectives and Overview Services sections. 2. Daily Service for GGMC Parking User Environment will take precedence over this project. Project dates may be rescheduled to ensure full support coverage for the GGMC Parking User Environment. 3. All requests for change to this scope of work must be submitted to the designated IT By Design project leader and the designated client contact. Items that are reasonably determined to be out of the scope of work defined in this proposal may constitute additional costs. 4. No scheduling will take place without the approval of the IT By Design Project Manager and GGMC Parking. 5. IT By Design will prepare and work aggressively and diligently to ensure the least amount of downtime, but during this project users may experience brief periods of downtime due to data migration, setup, configuration or unforeseeable issues. 5

If there are any problems executing any of the tasks below fix the issue immediately. Do not allow the Customer to continue until it s fixed.! Customer can open all of their applications.!
