Overview V3.0.1 assists organizations of all sizes and levels of complexity to automate, advise, and enforce process, information flow, and interactions throughout the systems and software development lifecycle. IBM Rational Team Concert integrates planning, software configuration management, change management, and build management into a single application. For organizations looking for a complete Collaborative Lifecycle Management solution, IBM delivers IBM Rational Requirements Composer, IBM Rational Team Concert, and IBM Rational Quality Manager in one easy-to-install and easy-to-use solution that can be optimized for agile or traditional teams. By purchasing the three products that make up the IBM Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution, organizations have what they need to make software delivery a strategic business asset: real-time planning, lifecycle traceability, in-context collaboration, development intelligence, and continuous improvement. It also adds automation of change flows on build success to improve green build outcomes for teams doing multilevel continuous integration. Enhanced integrations V3.0.1 provides a new integration with Lotus Connections that enhances social network collaboration for teams using forums, wikis, blogs, and file content by linking Lotus Connections to IBM Rational Team Concert dashboards and user profiles. 3 What are the benefits of the new capabilities in V3.0.1? Application Lifecycle Management - Easier deployment: With this new release you can now deploy, IBM Rational Quality Manager, and IBM Rational Requirements Composer as applications that share a common set of Jazz platform services. By sharing the same Jazz platform, multiple Jazz-based applications share common user administration, process administration, installation, and work item services. These new flexible deployment options lower the cost of ownership by centralizing administration. Application Lifecycle Management - Improved traceability: By linking related artifacts, teams are better equipped to answer questions such as "which requirements are affected by defects?" and "which work items are ready for test?" uses linked data and rich hovers to enable teams to collaborate across ALM silos using open standards. Improvements for this release include deeper support for the Open Services for LifeCycle Collaboration Change Management Specification (2.0). Open standards also allow IBM Rational Team Concert to provide traceability to tools you use today such as IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest, or IBM Rational Synergy/Change. Application Lifecycle Management - Advanced reporting: Clients have asked for an easier way to customize reports. In this release, users can take advantage of report customization using a common set of reporting services across all Jazz-based products. This shared set of services is called Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence (RRDI) and is included with. You still receive all the out-of-the-box BIRT based reports you use today, but RRDI will make it easier to customize and author your own reports. New reporting templates enable teams to customize reports without "starting from scratch." In addition, the places where reports can be visualized are enhanced, so you can now view burndown or velocity reports directly inside an iteration plan. Improved enterprise security - Read permissions control for team areas: Today's development needs often include collaborative development efforts with outside consultants or external suppliers who need to contribute to a development effort. V3.0.1 has been enhanced to allow a project with subteams to assign team-specific read permissions on artifacts such as work items and SCM artifacts. This new flexibility makes it possible for two teams to work under the same project and see only the artifacts they need to perform their work. A typical use case might be a company that works on a project with multiple outside suppliers and does not want supplier A to see supplier B's work items or SCM artifacts. In IT this might be used to enable an outside consulting team to work on a project while isolating their visibility to the components and work items they have a need to see. Improved enterprise scalability - Bulk updates, filtering, searching: Some tools work well for small teams but do not scale when the of work items grows or the team size is larger. Can you quickly use textual searching to find a work item in a multipage dashboard query viewlet? Can you filter the scope of your iteration plans to show only a subset of plans in a drop-down menu? Can you update all fields in all work items selected for bulk update operations? IBM Rational Team Concert V3.0.1 is designed to make it easy to work with large amounts of work item data or many plan items for teams trying to scale agile methods to larger teams of teams. Keeping continuous integration builds green - Automated post-build delivery: Need to automate the delivery of changes to an integration stream when the build succeeds and has passed all unit tests? V3.0.1 can now be configured to deliver changes to a stream on build success. Or collect changes in a series of successful builds into a "green zone" stream, lowering the chance that a release engineer might deliver a change from a failed build to the integration stream and impact other teams working on a project. 4 when you request a dependency build. From the build request dialog, select the "Preview build" option under "Dependency Build Options." The build report generated as part of a dependency-based build has also been improved to be significantly more useful and user friendly. Enterprise platform enhancements - Work item based promotion 1 : In V3.0, promotion was introduced to move all of the source, outputs, and build metadata associated with dependency builds from one development level to the next (for example, from Development to Test or from Test to QA). The lowest level of promotion available was the component. That is, you could select one or more components from a stream and move all the source, outputs, and metadata for those components. In V3.0.1 you can promote at the work item level. New or enhanced integrations: V3.0.1 provides a new integration with Lotus Connections that enhances social network collaboration for teams using forums, wikis, blogs, and file content by linking Lotus Connections to dashboards and user profiles. Team members can share queries with the team or with particular users. 12 Charge metrics definitions Authorized Install Authorized Install is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. An Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the Program. An Install is an installed copy of the Program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. The Program may be installed on any of computers or servers, but if the Authorized User has accessed or has access to more than one Install of the Program, the Authorized User requires a separate entitlement for each such Install. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User given access to the Program on each Install in any manner directly or indirectly (for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
