The software media p/n includes the pcanywhere 12.5 software. 2 Installing pcanywhere 12.5 CAUTION: If you are enabling Terminal Services on a RAE node, on the same node pcanwhere Host is not supported. The Terminal Services allow more than one active windows session running on the same system, the pcanywhere Host service will then try to initialize in each active session, as a result, the system may crash and the it may need restart to regain system functionalities. This may result loss of view and loss of control 1. If auto installation does not start automatically, browse to the folder where pcanywhere_12_5.exe file is present. 2. Right-click the exe and select Run as administrator. The User Account Control dialog box appears. 3. Click Continue. The Welcome to the installation for Symantec pcanywhere dialog box appears. 2 Where Used: Page 2 of Click Next. The License Agreement dialog box appears. 5. Read through the license agreement, and then select I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Click Next. The Customer Information dialog box appears.

3 Where Used: Page 3 of Type the User Name and Organization. 8. Click Next. The Destination Folder dialog box appears. The default location where the software is installed is displayed. 9. Click Next. The Ready to Install the Program dialog box appears.

The Installing Symantec pcanywhere dialog box appears, displaying the status of installation. 12. After the installation is complete, click Next. The InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box appears, displaying the successful installation of Symantec pcanywhere. 13. Click Finish. 14. Restart the computer after the installation is complete.

5 Where Used: Page 5 of 12 After the computer restarts, perform the procedure described in section Configuring pcanywhere. 3 Configuring pcanywhere Following are the two settings that you need to configure for the pcanywhere. 1. Host Settings 2. Remote Settings To configure the settings perform the following: 1. Start the pcanywhere program. 2. Skip the registration by clicking Register later and Finish. 3. Click Cancel to close Connection Wizard. 3.1 Host Settings Perform the following steps to set the machine as pcanywhere host. 1. Double-click the Symantec pcanywhere icon on the desktop. 2. Click Host from the right pane of the window. The Connection Wizard-Connection Method dialog box appears.

Select Wait for someone to call me. 6. Click Next. The Connection Wizard- Authentication Type dialog box appears.

7 Where Used: Page 7 of Select I want to setup a username and password. 8. Click Next. The Connection Wizard- Name and Password dialog box appears. 9. Type the User name, Password and Enter the password again: to confirm. 10. Click Next. The Connection Wizard- Connection Name dialog box appears.

8 Where Used: Page 8 of Type a connection name and then click Next. The Connection Wizard- Summary dialog box appears. 12. Read through the summary of selections made, and then select Wait for a connection from a remote computer after the Connection Wizard finishes checkbox. 13. Click Finish to save the host connection.

9 Where Used: Page 9 of Remote Settings When the remote settings are enabled in your computer, you can remotely connect to host computer, from another computer. Before you enable the remote settings, ensure that you install the pcanywhere software on the remote computer. Perform the following steps to set the remote settings: 1. Double-click the Symantec pcanywhere icon on the desktop in the remote computer. 2. Click Remote Control from the right pane of the window. The Connection Wizard-Connection Method dialog box appears.

Type the telephone number of the host computer to which you want to connect. 6. Click Next. The Connection Wizard- Connection Name dialog box appears.

Select Connect a host computer after the Connection Wizard finishes checkbox. 10. Click Finish to save the remote connection. Connection to host computer is established.
