2 With AT&T Passport for Windows 95*, you can attach your Windows computer to the AT&T global network to provide 3270 emulation. This reference card gives you information on how to install, set up, and start the program. For information on how to use the program, refer to the Passport Help function. Installing AT&T Passport To install AT&T Passport: 1. Insert the installation diskette into your diskette drive. 2. Click Start on the Menu Bar, and then select Run. 3. 3 Setting up AT&T Passport To prepare AT&T Passport for use, you must set up the program with the General Setup, Connection Setup, Modem Setup, and Session Setup options on the Setup menu. Both traveling users and non-traveling users, and both asynchronous dial and TCP/IP users need to make these selections. To set up AT&T Passport: 1. In the General Setup window, select the defaults for a basic configuration. 2. In the Connection Setup window, make the following selections: a. Type in or select from the list in the Country Selection area the country you are presently in (Present Country) and the country you are connecting through (Gateway Country). b. Type in or select from the list in the Gateway Selection area the Primary Phone (or Primary Server for TCP/IP users) and the Backup Phone (or Backup Server) that you want to use in the gateway country. 3. In the Modem Setup window, type information or make selections for your modem manufacturer, modem type, dial speed, and serial port. 4. In the Session Setup window, type the title that you want for your Session A. Scroll through the list of countries and click the Account Country (where your account ID is defined). Then, type your account ID, user ID, and network password. Scroll through the list of countries and click the Language Country of your choice (usually the home country where your account ID is defined). You can set up as many as four sessions. Starting AT&T Passport To start AT&T Passport: Double-click on either the Use Passport (Async) or the Use Passport (TCP/IP) icon. The program displays the About Passport window with the following push buttons: Getting Started Information to help you start using AT&T Passport License Agreement Information on the Passport license agreement News Recent changes in AT&T Passport OK Start using AT&T Passport Using the help function To get help using AT&T Passport: Click Help in the menu bar. The system displays a pull-down menu with the following options: Help Index Alphabetic list of references to help topics General Help General help information Using Help How to use the help function Keys Help Default keyboard mappings About Passport Information to help you start using AT&T Passport Customer Assistance Information on how to get help when you encounter problems Important phone numbers To access Customer Assistance or Help Desk phone numbers, select Customer Assistance from the Help menu.
