3 The following components are required for the update: 1. JCM programming tool a. JCM programming adaptor including connecting cable and power supply (power unit) b. JCM Download Software (ADP Internet Portal) 2. PC onto which the JCM Download Software and the USB Drive are to be installed. 3. Update file for the Acceptor Head. Note: You can find the JCM Download Software, the USB Driver and the corresponding Update File at the ADP Internet Portal ( under: Service -> XC-File Download -> MD-100 Merkur Dispenser ACCEPTOR HEAD JCM Update Software for Acceptor Head ZIP-File JCM Update Software.zip System Driver for JCM Update Software/Adaptor JCM Driver.zip Update File V4.10 for Acceptor Head JCM Update File V4.10.zip Update Discription - Update for Acceptor Head WARNING: It is only possible to program Acceptors with Serial Numbers from Please note this is also shown on the product label on the 63. 4 Preparing the Update: Set power unit to 12 volt: If the voltage on the power unit is adjustable, please set it to 12 volts: Put the Acceptor Head into Programming Mode: Set DIP switches 1, 5 6, 7 and 8 on the Acceptor Head to ON (up) and DIP switches 2, 3, 4 to OFF (down). The download speed is then bps. Connect the Programming Adaptor: Connection to Acceptor USB >> PC Power Unit 2

5 Installing the Driver: After the Programming Adaptor has been connected to the PC via the USB, the corresponding driver must be installed. (Download from ADP Internet Portal, see page 1). Assistant - Search for new hardware Welcome 1. The Driver Installation window opens. 2. Select Install software from a list Click on Continue. 2 With the wizard, you can install software for the following hardware: 1 FT232R USB UART If the hardware component came with a CD or diskette, please insert it now. How do you want to proceed? Install software automatically (recommended) Install software from a list or from a specific source (for advanced users) To proceed, click Continue < Back 2 Continue > Stop Assistant - Search for new hardware 4. Select Search these sources using the most suitable driver. 3 Select Search and Installation options 3 Search these sources using the most suitable driver. Use the check box to extend or restrict the Standard Search. Local paths and removable memory media are included in the Standard Search. The most suitable driver will be install. 5. Click on Continue. 5 Do not search; Select the driver to be installed. Use this option to select a device driver from a list. 6 9. Another window opens, repeat steps 1 8. Assistant Search for new hardware 10. Driver installed successfully. Assistant has nished Software has been installed for the following hardware: USB Serial-Converter Which COM-Port is used? The JCM Download Software needs to know the COM-Port to which the Programming Adaptor is connected. So, open the PC s Device Manager. Select the heading Connections (COM and LPT). 7 Drive Manager File Action View? Connections (COM and LPT) 7 ECP Printer Connection (LPT1) Intel(R) Remote PC Assist Technology SOL (COM3) Communications Connection (COM1) USB Serial Port (COM4) 8 The Adaptor is designated USB Serial Port (COM4 in the example here). 8 Please note the corresponding COM-Port (entered later in the JCM Download Program). Update sequence: 1. The Update File Rom_E(EUR5)-34-SD3 ID063-GDv SEP11 3F71.bin must also be saved onto your PC. Service XC-File Download MD-100 EBA34 ID063 V4.10.zip. (see page 1) 2. Sequence Update on site (Acceptor is installed in the device): a. Empty the Mekur Dispenser. b. Do printout with Clear (device should have been cashed up before the update!). c. Switch off cash/game device. d. Disconnect 6-pole connecting cable of Merkur Dispenser Remove the locking device/adaptor from the Acceptor Head and separate the Acceptor Head from the Stacker/Dispenser. 4

Put the Acceptor into Programming Mode and connect it to the Programming Adaptor, as shown on page When the operating voltage (Programming Adaptor) is switched on, the two LEDs on the Acceptor flash alternately: 6. Start the software ICM-DOWNLOAD(V121). You can also find the software in the ADP Internet Portal, under: Service XC-File Download MD-100 JCM-DOWNLOAD(V121).zip. Select the Update File Rom_E(EUR5)-34-SD3 ID063-GDv SEP11 3F71.bin and confirm by clicking on OPEN. Search in: JCM Updatedatei V4.10 5

8 9. Select the Update File and start the update by pressing the Start Download button The updating procedure starts. The following message is displayed when updating is complete: 11. In addition, the two LEDs flash slowly and simultaneously. (Update time about 5 minutes). The Checksum displayed should read 3F71. Now you can disconnect the Acceptor again and return the DIP Switches on the system back to their original settings. Fit the locking device and if necessary, continue programming the other components (Stacker, Dispenser). Please do not forget to note and record the modi ed Software Status on the MD 100! 6
