2 Scribe no longer supports the following Microsoft components: - Windows Server 2003 (any edition) - SQL Server Windows XP / Windows Vista You need your Scribe Serial Number as part of the registration process. You can find your Serial Number in the original sign-up sent by Scribe Software. If you are upgrading, your Serial Number can be found by selecting About Scribe Insight from the Scribe Workbench Help menu. Contact your Scribe Sales representative if you have questions: sales@scribesoft.com. You may be required to restart the computer as part of the installation process. Please plan accordingly. If you install or upgrade Insight with any edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2012, you must edit the properties of the Scribe services to log on as a principal with proper rights, as described in the Scribe Insight Installation Guide. DTS files that are upgraded to Scribe Insight are not backwards compatible with previous versions of Scribe. As with any upgrade, be sure to back up any DTS files and the SCRIBEINTERNAL database before upgrading the system. In this version of Scribe Insight, when an older DTS file is opened, you are prompted to save a backup of the DTS file before it is upgraded, and the backup is saved. If upgrading from Scribe Insight version or earlier, please manually uninstall Scribe Insight and related adapters before applying Scribe Insight version If you are upgrading from Scribe Insight or 6.5.1, and are using the GetRowError() function (OpenMind Idea #57) as part of your Update Source logic, you need to modify the Update Source setting after upgr ading. Update Source will default to update only on success; you need to manually change it to update on success or failure. Release Notes Scribe Insight

3 With Insight v7.6.2, any Formula One add-in.dlls that you create must now be placed in the Scribe installation folder (e.g., c:\programfiles\scribe). Previously, the files could reside anywhere as long as you navigated to them with the file browser in View->Functions->Add option to locate the file. If you are upgrading to Insight v7.6.2, you must move any current add-in.dlls to the Scribe installation folder. What s New in Version This section summarizes the new features and changes for Scribe Insight For more information about new features, see the Scribe Insight Online Help. Support for UAC-Enabled Systems Insight v7.6.2 can now be installed on a new server or workstation that is configured to have Microsoft Windows User Access Control (UAC) enabled. Any existing Insight installations that are currently in a UAC-disabled configuration can be upgraded with Insight v7.6.2 and still work with the UAC-disabled setup. Support for Windows 2012 Server Users can now install Insight v7.6.2 on Windows 2012 Server Data Center or Standard editions (x64) for either a server or workstation install. Current support for this platform, however, does not yet include failover configurations. Insight Adapter Alignment with v7.6.2 All supported Insight adapters have also been updated to match the aforementioned inclusion of Windows 2012 Server as a new supported platform and compatibility with UAC-Enabled configurations across supported platforms. Insight Adapters No Longer Supported With the Insight v7.6.2 release, the following adapters and connections are no longer supported: Scribe Adapter for ACT! 4-6 Scribe Adapter for ACT! Scribe Adapter for GoldMine Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Exchange Native Oracle connection Users must change existing DTS/Procs/Monitors/Views to use ODBC or OLE DB Adapter instead For this release, you must upgrade Scribe Insight and Adapters. If you are not planning to upgrade your Adapters, do not upgrade Insight. You must be logged into a user account with local administrator privileges to install Insight. Release Notes Scribe Insight
