1 filesmart Archive Printer Driver Install - Version 4.6 Overview This document will guide you through the process of installing the filesmart printer drivers. There are six different printer drivers available for filesmart users and this manual will describe the purpose for each and how they are installed. Please do not proceed with the installation until after you have read this guide carefully. Failure to do so may result in a faulty installation and prevent the filesmart printers from functioning normally. It is advised that the person carrying out the upgrade has experience in running software updates and is familiar with installing and uninstalling programs. Different Types of Printers filesmart provides six different printer installers with its installation package. That may sound like a lot but as you ll soon see the real situation is quite easy to understand. There are three main types of printer driver which are described in this table: Printer Type Description filesmart Archive The filesmart Archive printer is used to print any document to your pending queue. A common use for this printer is to open an invoice attached to an and print it directly to your pending queue so that it can be archived against a property. filesmart PrintMail The filesmart PrintMail printer is used to print any document that will be imported using the PrintMail AutoArchive process. This used for Owner Statements from the trust accounting system, but also for compliance reports such as Bank Ledgers and Monthly Bank Reconciliations. PrintMail Send Assist The PrintMail Send Assist printer is used only for Console customers that have a version of Console with the Send Assist functionality. The printer is configured in conjunction with your Send Assist setup so that any documents exported through Send Assist are also directed to this printer. This printer is responsible for generating the TIFF image file that will be used by PrintMail when Auto Archiving your Owner Statements. For each of these types of printer two versions are provided: 1. A standard version this version of the printer has no extra functionality and behaves exactly as described in the table above. 2. A Dual version this version of the printer has the ability to redirect its output to another printer. When using this version of the printer you will be prompted with a standard windows printer selection 1

2 dialog to send the output to a second printer. This version of the printer is most useful for Owner Statements that have an attached cheque. Installer Download Each major category of Windows operating system has its own filesmart printer driver installer. You will need to make sure that you have the right version of the printer driver installer for your operating system. Open Console Gateway on the End Of Month workstation 2. Go to Tools Send Assist 3. Click Preferences 4. Select the PrintMail Send Assist printer 5. Set the Save to location to C:\AEOM (or whichever drive the client uses) 6. Make sure all other check boxes are un-set and then click OK 2

3 Important Notes This installation guide assumes you are a local administrator on the filesmart workstation on which the install is being performed. You must know the locations for the target folders used for each printer. The default locations will be provided and these will work in most cases, however if your filesmart installation is to a non-default location you will need to updated this at the appropriate time in the installation. You may need to restart the Workstation to complete the installation. This printer installation should upgrade cleanly over any previous filesmart printers that you have installed. 3

4 Installation Introduction The installation of the filesmart printer drivers is divided into two separate installation phases. Phase 1 involves installing the printer driver Setup Wizard. Phase 2 involves executing the printer driver Setup Wizard to install the required printer drivers. Setup Wizard Installation The following steps describe how to install the filesmart printer driver setup wizard. 1. Download the correct version of the setup wizard from one of the links provided above. Each version of the setup wizard corresponds to one of the four categories of printer driver installed referenced in introduction. The following are the exact file names of the setup wizards: a. filesmart_printer_winxp_vista_win7_32bit_300.msi b. filesmart_printer_winxp_vista_win7_64bit_301.msi c. filesmart_printer_server_2k3_2k8_32bit_300.msi d. filesmart_printer_server_2k3_2k8_64bit_300.msi 2. Run the version of the setup wizard appropriate to your operating system. This will display the following welcome screen. 4

5 3. Clicking the Next button will display the following installation folder screen. The target folder is where the setup wizard will be installed, change it if required. 4. Clicking the Next button will display the following installation confirmation window. 5

6 5. Clicking the Next button will display the following installation complete window. You have now finished installing the installation wizard and can simple click the Close button. 6

7 Printer Driver Installation Before you can install the printer drivers you must have run the Setup Wizard installation described in the previous section. Once that is complete the following steps will describe how to install the printer drivers. 1. Run the printer driver Setup Wizard by clicking the windows Start button and then browsing to All Programs Rockend filesmart Printers filesmart Printer Setup. This will display the following welcome screen. 2. If you receive the following uninstall message, please click Yes. 7

8 3. Please wait while the old print drivers are removed. 4. When you get to this screen, please select Yes to restart and Finish. 8

After the restart has occurred run the printer driver Setup Wizard again by clicking the windows Start button and then browsing to All Programs Rockend filesmart Printers filesmart Printer Setup. This will display the following welcome screen. 6. Clicking the Next button will display the following printer selection window. 9

10 7. The meaning of these different printer drivers was described in the introduction of this installation guide; please refer to that section to decide which printer drivers you need. Set the check box next to each printer that you want to install. Use the Browse button to choose a new default output path for each printer driver; this is only necessary if you have a non-default installation. 8. Clicking the Next button will start the installation process. Each printer that you selected will be installed and an installation progress window will be displayed. 10

11 9. Once the installation is complete click the Next button to complete the installation. Finally click the Finish button. 11
