2 Symbols and Terminology Layout: Root Subsite Talker Type Remote Traffic (Traffic that traverses the internet) Local Traffic (Traffic that doesn't enter the internet) Signifies that Local Traffic is currently hidden Left Arrow Traffic is allowed to leave the computer Traffic is temporarily allowed to leave the computer Traffic is blocked from leaving the computer Note: A blue circle around or means that traffic is currently leaving the computer; whereas, a blue circle around means that traffic is currently attempting to leave the computer but is being blocked. Right Arrow Traffic is allowed to enter your computer Traffic is temporarily allowed to enter your computer Traffic is blocked from leaving your computer Note: A blue circle around or means that traffic is currently entering your computer; whereas, a blue circle around means that traffic is currently attempting to enter the computer but is being blocked. 2

3 Symbol Standalone Entity Parent of Group Active Member of Group Inactive Member of Group Note: Active Members always have the same state as the Parent; whereas, Inactive Members remain blocked regardless of the Parent s state. Note: A red Site Symbol means that the Name is currently quarantined. Flag No Events Known Tracker Auto-Active Auto-Inactive Shared Resource (Allowed) Shared Resource (Temporarily Allowed) Shared Resource (Blocked) Attack Detected Note: A blue square around a flag means that two or more events have occurred for that name. To see all events, left click on the squared flag. Note: For shared resources, the flag color overrides the arrow colors. In other words, if the flag is green or yellow then the shared resource is allowed even if the arrows are black. This occurs when the shared resource belongs to another group which happens to have yellow or green arrows. To block shared resources across all groups, inactivate the shared resource and it will be inactivated across all groups simultaneously. 3

4 Name Note: Even when subsites share a root in common, they can still be on different machines (and therefore have completely different IP Addresses). Therefore, TTC NetSwitch empowers the user to be able to control all names on a subsite basis. 4

5 Functions To See IP Addresses: Left click on any or to see IP Addresses. Left click again on the same symbol to hide the IP Addresses. To Change a Standalone Entity's State: Left click on its name. To Change a Group's State: Left click on any name within the group. To Inactivate a Group Member: Left click on any. Note: Inactive group members remain blocked regardless of the parent's state. To Activate a Group Member: Left click on any. Note: Active group members always have the same state as the parent. To Automatically Group and Activate All Possible Subsites of a Root Drag any Site Symbol to its Name. Note: To stop automatic grouping and activation of a root, redo the same thing. To Automatically Group and Inactivate All Possible Subsites of a Root Drag any Site Symbol to its Name while pressing <ctrl>. Note: To stop automatic grouping and inactivation of a root, redo the same thing. 5

6 To See Local Traffic: Left click on. To Hide Local Traffic: Left click any. To do an Instant Search: Right-click any name and select Instant Search. Note: To change Instant Search Settings, click the Menu button. To Quarantine: Right-click any name and select Quarantine. To Remove an Entity from Quarantine: Right-click any quarantined name and select Remove from Quarantine. To Group Names Together: Drag one name to another. The first receiving name will become the parent. To Move a Name from one Group to Another: Drag any Active Member or Inactive Member to any group. To Remove a Name from a Group and Make it a Standalone Entity: Drag any Active member or Inactive Member to the right (outside the TTC NetSwitch window) or drag it to the bottom of the display below the last name. To Dissolve a Group: Drag the parent to the right (outside the TTC NetSwitch window) or drag it to the bottom of the display below the last name. To Automatically Allow and Group Together All Possible Subsites on a Root: Slide the Site Symbol to its name. The resulting group is called auto-actives. 6

7 To Automatically Block and Group Together All Possible Subsites on a Root: Slide the Site Symbol to its name while pressing <ctrl>. The resulting group is called auto-inactives. To Automatically Allow All Newly Discovered Names Under Remote Talker Settings select Permit All. In the drop-down menu select Apply to: New Sites Only. To Automatically Allow Every Name Under Remote Talker Settings select Permit All. In the drop-down menu select Apply to: All Sites. To Automatically Allow All Names While Blocking Unnamed Entities Under Remote Talker Settings select Permit All. Under the Permit All box, select Auto block unknown IP addresses To Automatically Block All Newly Discovered Names Under Remote Talker Settings select Block All. In the drop-down menu select Apply to: New Sites Only. To Automatically Block Every Name Under Remote Talker Settings select Block All. In the drop-down menu select Apply to: All Sites. 7
