1 2019 Smithton Public District Newsletter January and February NEW YEAR S RESOLUTIONS THE LIBRARY Celebrate the experience of trying something new with a showing of Julie & Julia on Friday, January 4th at 3:30 pm Relish the magic of reading with a showing of Matilda on Friday, January 11th at 3:30 pm Explore a new country during a showing of Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again! on Friday, January 18th at 3:30 PM Let go of responsibilities for an afternoon with a showing of Christopher Robin on Friday, January 25th at 3:30 pm Registration is required. Call us at A New Year means a New at the library! Do you love cooking and trying new recipes? If so, this cookbook club is for you! We re planning to offer this program every other month. Visit the library to sign up for this club and to choose your recipe. This meeting s recipes all come from Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman s) cookbooks. Each patron will make his/her recipe at home and bring it to share with the group. We ll then talk about what worked, what didn t and what cookbook to try next! Registration is required, and can only be made in person (when you pick your recipe.) Attendees assume all responsibility for the cooking of their recipes. Food is prepared in home kitchens not subject to inspection. Food may contain allergens. Attendees choosing to partake of the food and/or drink during the event do so at their own risk. Join a book club at the Smithton Public District! We have two Smithton Page Turners Book Club & Friends of the. The Smithton Page Turners meets on the first Tuesday of the month at at the library. They read books from a variety of genres. The Friends of the meets on the third Tuesday of the month at in various places. They read contemporary fiction. 5 Did you know that we offer the following services? Laminating The cost is 50 cents per foot. Please call and give us 30 minutes to warm up the machine. Public Computers Printing & Copying We have 6 public computers available. All are running Windows 10 operating system and have Office 2016 installed (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher). All are connected to the internet. The public computers have the ability to print documents in color or black and white. We have a copier that copies single or double-sided. A single-sided black and white copy is 15 cents per page. A single-sided color copy is 50 cents per page. A double-sided black and white copy is 20 cents per page. A double-sided color copy is 75 cents per page. Accucut Machine FAX Service CD & DVD Cleaning Scan to Quickly cut out shapes with our AccuCut Machine. Great for bulletin boards, & signs! We have letters, numbers and a variety of popular shapes. Please provide your own paper. Free for public use. The cost to FAX is 50 cents per page, to send or receive. The Smithton PLD will not contact people for incoming FAXes received. We will clean your CDs and DVDs with our EcoSmart disc cleaning machine. The cost is $3 per disc. Our copier/printer can scan a document as a PDF to your (black & white or color). There is no cost for this service.
