2 About Skills Support for Redundancy Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) is an EU-funded initiative designed solely to support individuals affected by redundancy. SSR provides free training courses for employees facing redundancy or to those that are redundant to help them gain new skills and rebuild their careers. To be eligible for this support, individuals must: Be aged 19 or over Live in Greater Manchester have been made redundant within the past six months or, be at risk of redundancy or have received notice of redundancy Irrespective of whether an individual is / has been made redundant from a large business, an SME, from the public sector or a registered charity, the focus is on ensuring those affected by redundancy remain economically active through ensuring they have the necessary support to re-enter and stay in work. About the SSR Training Catalogue This document sets out the current suite of SSR provision, managed by Calderdale College. Seven sub-contractors are currently delivering SSR provision across Greater Manchester: Ltd The Growth Company trading as The Skills Company Mantra Learning Limited Association Ltd St Antony s Centre Solvo Vir Ltd Standguide Ltd Some of these sub-contractors also offer apprenticeships that provide further progressions for individuals that participate in SSR. Contractor personnel working on site, whom already hold a safety passport and are seeking renewal. This course is delivered in English and therefore a prerequisite of this course is that delegates are fluent in the English language. You will complete a multiple choice question assessment at the end of the session. Once you have passed the assessment, you will be issued with a new identification passport, which is valid for a further 3 years. This course is designed for personnel who hold a valid safety passport who are in a supervisor s role. Once you have passed the assessments, you will be issued with an identification passport, which is valid for 3 years. This course is designed for those who have supervisory responsibilities in the construction industry. It helps to develop a basic understanding of health and safety and responsibilities at work. You will complete a 30 minute, 25 question, objective multi-choice examination at the end of the course. Successful candidates will be awarded the CITB site supervisor safety training certificate. This certificate will be valid for 5 years. This course is aimed at candidates who work in the construction industry and require the 'green' card; delegates will need to book themselves onto the touch screen test separately to obtain the card. This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion and group work. Once you have passed the assessments, you will be issued with a pal (powered access licence) photo id card. These are currently valid for 5 years. Asbestos awareness UKATA 1/2 Non regulated Classroom Location of the training This course is designed for anyone that may come into contact with asbestos.
