10 Chartered Engineer of EC Eligibility for CEng The Chartered Engineer (CEng) title is open to anyone who can demonstrate the required professional competences and commitment, as set out in the professional standard UK-SPEC. Individuals generally develop these through education and working experience. 10

The following are acceptable qualifications for registration: 1.a professionally qualified engineer with Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (the HKIE) within a discipline or 2.a qualified Member of a professional body recognized by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as having a standard not less than that of a Corporate Member of the HKIE within a discipline. 13
