Installing and Getting Started Ntes Integratin CMT Free/Busy features a new name and lg, but is the same, trusted prduct previusly knwn as SMART Free/Busy r CMT fr Cexistence Free/Busy. 1.1 Installatin Overview The Ntes Integratin CMT FreeBusy.exe installatin package must be installed n the Dmin Cexistence server and Windws Cexistence server. Fr a list f knwn limitatins, please refer t the Ntes Integratin CMT Free/Busy 3.6 Knwn Limitatins dcument. 1.2 Installatin Requirements Fr the Dmin and Exchange install requirements refer t the Ntes Integratin BTCal 5.5 Requirements dcument. 1.3 Installing Ntes Integratin CMT Free/Busy n the Dmin Cexistence Server The Free/Busy cmpnents fr the Dmin Cexistence server is installed separately frm the BTCal and ZApp cmpnents. 1. Cnfirm the Dmin server is nt running n the bx. 2. Run the Ntes Integratin FreeBusy.exe as Administratr. 3. On the installatin wizard screen, click Next. 3

4 4. Review the Sftware License Agreement and if yu agree click Yes t cntinue. 5. On the Verify ntes.ini path fr the FreeBusy Dmin server screen, brwse t the lcatin f the Ntes.ini file that will be mdified fr the Dmin instance. Click Next. If yu are installing n a partitined server, the default value may nt be crrect. Verify that this is the Dmin data directry fr the Ntes Integratin CMT server. 4

5 6. On the Cnfirm Dmin Directries screen, cnfirm the Dmin Prgram and Data directry paths fr the Dmin Server instance where yu want t install Free/Busy and the path t the Ntes.ini. Click Next. 7. On the FreeBusy Install Cnfiguratin screen, enter the Dmin SMTP dmain name fr which yu wuld like t expse Free/Busy infrmatin. Click Next. 5

6 8. On the Ready t Install the Prgram screen, click Install t begin the installatin. 9. The prgress f the installatin will be displayed n the Setup Status screen. 6

7 10. On the Edit ntes.ini screen, select ne f the fllwing ptins: Let Setup mdify the ntes.ini file (Default) Recmmended fr first time installing Ntes Integratin CMT BTCal and Free/Busy. Save the required changes t a ntes.ini alt file May select if yu want t manually update an existing ntes.ini file frm a previus installatin. This is recmmended if yu are reinstalling r repairing Free/Busy, and wish t manually update the existing entries. D nt make any changes Selecting this ptin is nt recmmended. Click Next. 11. An infrmatinal message appears if yu selected t mdify the ntes.ini file. Click OK. Changes t the ntes.ini file will take effect when the Dmin server is restarted. 7

8 12. When installatin is cmplete, the Wizard Cmplete screen appears. Click Finish t clse. 1.4 Installing Ntes Integratin CMT Free/Busy n the Windws Cexistence Server 1. Run the Ntes Integratin FreeBusy.exe as Administratr. 2. On the installatin wizard screen, click Next. 8

9 3. Review the Sftware License Agreement and if yu agree, click Yes t cntinue. 4. On the Chse Destinatin Lcatin screen, accept the default destinatin lcatin r brwse t the desired lcatin. Click Next. 9

10 5. On the first Ntes Integratin CMT - FreeBusy Install Cnfiguratin screen, enter the FQDN f the Exchange CAS server hstname. Click Next. 6. On the secnd Ntes Integratin CMT - FreeBusy Install Cnfiguratin screen, enter the DNS name f the Dmin Server. Click Next. 10

11 7. On the third Free/Busy Install Cnfiguratin screen, enter the Dmin SMTP dmain name fr which yu wuld like t expse Free/Busy infrmatin. Click Next 8. On the Additinal setup is required screen, cpy the cmmand and run it in an Exchange Management Shell. Then, click Next. This cmmand will set the Availability Address Space in Exchange fr the Dmin user s Free/Busy requests are sent t Dmin. 11

12 9. On the Ready t Install the Prgram screen, click Install t begin the installatin. 10. The prgress f the installatin will be displayed n the Setup Status screen. 11. When installatin is cmplete, the Wizard Cmplete screen appears. Click Finish t clse. 12. Run an IIS Reset by typing iisreset frm a cmmand prmpt. 12

13 Sectin 2. Verifying Free/Busy Installatin 1. After installatin cmpletes, verify the fllwing files exist in the Dmin prgram directry: BinaryTree.Dmin.CAPIWrapper.dll BinaryTree.Dmin.CexServiceLibrary.dll BinaryTree.Dmin.Ex12 ServiceLibrary.dll BinaryTree.Dmin.Ex14ServiceLibrary.dll BinaryTree.FreeBusy.Dmin.dll BTAvailabilityService.wsdl nbtdminlistener.dll nbtfreebusy.exe nbtfreebusy.exe.cnfig If any f these files are missing, cnfirm the security rights t the install directries and then rerun the install wizard. 2. Verify the fllwing items have been added t the NOTES.INI file. ServerTasks=BTFreeBusy, HTTP BTCOEX_NSF=btws.nsf BTCOEX_WS_NAME=BTAvailability (shuld match the virtual directry used by the BTRuter n the Windws Cexistence server; BTAvailability is the default value) BTCOEX_LOGFILE=\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT\OUTPUT.LOG (shuld be relative t the <Dmin server>\dmin Data Directry) BTExchangedb=btexchange.bx 3. Verify the fllwing databases exist in the Dmin data directry (create if missing): BTWS.nsf file (Free/Busy Web Services database) BTExchange.bx (mail ruter database based ff a mailbx.ntf template) The Dmin Administratr shuld sign this database (and all databases installed by Ntes Integratin CMT) with the apprpriate ID. 13

14 Sectin 3. Cnfiguring Free/Busy n the Dmin Cexistence Server 3.1 Assigning DSAPI Filter t Dmin Server Dcument Specify the DSAPI filter in the Dmin server dcument. 1. In Dmin Administratr, click the Cnfiguratin tab. 2. Expand Server, and then select All Server Dcuments in the left pane. 3. Duble-click n the Dmin server dcument in the right pane t pen the server dcument. 4. Click the Internet Prtcls tab, and then the HTTP tab. 5. In the DSAPI Filter sectin, specify nbtdminlistener as the ONLY DSAPI filter entry, and then Save & Clse the dcument. 3.2 Creating a Freign Dmain Dcument Create a Freign Dmain dcument. This dcument is used t cnfigure mail ruting and Free/Busy traffic frm the Dmin envirnment t the Ntes Integratin CMT server s it can translate the cmmunicatin prperly befre sending t the Exchange envirnment. 1. In the Dmin Administratr, g t the Cnfiguratin tab, and in the left pane, select Messaging -> Dmains. Chse Add Dmain. 2. In the dcument that pens, set the fllwing ptins: Field Name Dmain type Freign dmain name Gateway server name Calendar server name Descriptin Chse Freign Dmain. Typically, this will be BTExchange, but shuld match the Freign Dmain attribute n the Directry Cnnectr yu create. Specify the cannical name f the Dmin Cexistence server and fr the Gateway Mail File Name use the value BTExchange.bx. Specify the cannical name f the Dmin Cexistence server and fr the Calendar System use the value BTExchange.bx. 3. Click Save & Clse. This new dcument will need t replicate t all ther servers in the Dmin dmain. Fr multiple dmain installatins, additinal nn-adjacent Dmain dcuments must be created t allw Free/Busy requests frm these dwnstream dmains t Exchange users. 14

15 3.3 Cnfiguring Dmin Free/Busy Security User-Level Security OrgWide FreeBusy (OrgWideFB) Everyne in the Exchange rganizatin has the same access rights, s there is n need t identify the persn making the request. This is the default fr Exchange. BTCOEX_BYPASS_REQUESTOR Accepted value = 0/1 Default = 0 This setting must be set t 1. When set t 1, Exchange requests will use the credentials supplied by the BTCOEX_DEFAULT_FB_ACCESS_ACCOUNT parameter (described belw). This is useful when Exchange is nt supplying the user ID because it is set t OrgWideFB. BTCOEX_DEFAULT_FB_ACCESS_ACCOUNT=<SMTP address> The accunt specified will prvide the access, which the entire Exchange rganizatin will have when queryi ng int the Dmin Availability Service. The SMTP address is that f an Exchange user in the Dmin Freign dmain that has been Directry Synchrnized t Dmin. This allws Dmin t crrectly recgnize the dmain f the mailbx; an Exchange OrgWideFB us er, and if it finds a Free/Busy request fr a user in that same Freign dmain, it will nt send it. If BTFreeBusy detects an invitee in the same dmain as the persn checking FreeBusy time, it prints a message t the Dmin cnsle. The BTFreeBusy Server prints the message when the request is frm an Outlk user, and BTFreeBusy Client prints the message when the request is frm a Ntes user. The errr message is in the fllwing frmat: 05/11/ :59:10 AM BTFreeBusy Server: Errr servicing request fr <the user name>.break.lp - caller and this user are in same dmain: CMT.: schedule bject desn't exist 5/11/ :59:10 AM BTFreeBusy Server: This request shuld nt be ging thrugh BTFreeBusy Server.: schedule bject desn't exist The administratr f the apprpriate system will need t mdify the indicated user's cnfiguratin. BTCOEX_APPROVED_CALLERS=<IP addresses> This cmma separated list f IP address es restricts the surce f Free/Busy requests that will be prcessed by Dmin Free/Busy. Legitimate requests wuld nly cme frm servers knwn t the BT Cexistence install, and trusted t have perfrmed all necessary authenticatins prir t allwing OrgW idefb requests. (example, , ) Nt prviding a list f IP addresses fr this setting is a ptential security risk as the bx wuld allw requests t cme frm any surce. 15

16 3.4 Cnfiguring Free/Busy Caching (Optinal Setting) Duplicate Free/Busy requests frm Dmin t Exchange are filtered t imprve the perfrmance. Duplicate requests are caused by incmpatible behavir in the Ltus Ntes client, as well as when the refresh buttn is clicked. The respnses are cached fr a default duratin f 60 secnds. The caching duratin can be mdified by changing the fllwing NOTES.INI settings: BTCOEX_CACHE_EXCH_RESPONSE Accepted value = <number f secnds t cache the respnse> Default = 60 Yu can als set the Free/Busy caching n by using the fllwing Dmin cnsle cmmand: tell btfreebusy cache n, where n is the number f secnds t cache the respnse; 0 is als a valid value. T turn the Exchange Free/Busy caching feature ff, set the BTCOEX_CACHE_EXCH_RESPONSE parameter t a value f zer. Yu can als use the BTCOEX_DONT_CACHE_EXCH_RESPONSE parameter t turn the Exchange Free/Busy caching feature ff. Specify 1 t indicate that the default value f 60 secnds shuld nt be used. 3.5 Cnfiguring Dmain Settings BTCOEX_EXCHANGE_DOMAINS and BTCOEX_DOMINO _DOMAINS Invitees in a Free/Busy request ging t Exchange must be in a dmain listed in the ntes.ini BTCOEX_EXCHANGE_DOMAINS variable. Invitees in a Free/Busy request ging t Dmin must be in a dmain listed in the ntes.ini BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS variable. These tw ntes.ini variables are required (the belw values are examples nly). BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS=BinaryTree,BTCMT,Dmin BTCOEX_EXCHANGE_DOMAINS=BinTreeEX,BTExchange,Exchange The BTFreeBusy cde checks requests cming frm Exchange t make sure they are asking abut users in the BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS. The BTFreeBusy cde checks requests ging t Exchange t make sure they are asking abut users in the BTCOEX_EXCHANGE_DOMAINS. This is dne t prevent an infinite lp f Free/Busy requests between the Exchange and Dmin servers, which can happen when Exchange assumes that a particular SMTP address belngs t a Dmin user, while Dmin assumes that SMTP address belngs t an Exchange user. If a list f dmains is lnger than 255 characters, the ntes.ini variables are cntained in a series by appending a sequence number t the end f the variable name. Fr example, if the riginal variable BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS cntains mre than 255 characters, the variables BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS1, BTCOEX_DOMINO_DOMAINS2, and s n, where each ne prvides up t a 255 character prtin f the list f dmains, will be used. 16

17 BTCOEX_SERVICE_TYPE Accepted Value: COEX Default Value: COEX The BTCOEX_SERVICE_TYPE parameter specifies the Web Service frmat used by the Binary Tree IIS apps t translate t the crrect versin f the EWS frmat. The BTCOEX_SERVICE_TYPE parameter is set t COEX by default and shuld nt be changed. 3.6 Cnfiguring Lg Settings BTCOEX_LOG Accepted Values: 0-8 (0=n lgging t 8=all areas lgging) Default Value: 0 This cntrls which areas f the BTFreeBusy cde shuld lg infrmatin. BTCOEX_SERVER_LOG Accepted Values: 0-6 (0=n lgging t 6=debug lgging) Default Value: 0 This lgs incming message prcessing dne by the Dmin Listener DSAPI filter t the <Dmin server>\lgs\btserver.lg file. BTCOEX_CLIENT _LOG Accepted Values: 0-6 (0=n lgging t 6=debug lgging) Default Value: 0 This lgs utging prcessing messages frm the Dmin Free/Busy t the <Dmin server>\lgs\btclient.lg file. BTCOEX_STOP_AFTER_EXCEPTION Accepted Values: 0, 1 Default Value: 0 This parameter cntrls if Free/Busy will autmatically restart if it encunters a fatal exceptin (errr) that causes it t terminate. If BTCOEX_STOP_AFTER_EXCEPTION is set t 1, Free/Busy will nt restart after an errr causes it t exit and it wuld need t be manually restarted. If BTCOEX_STOP_AFTER_EXCEPTION = 0 (default), Free/Busy will restart after exiting due t an errr. 17

18 BTCOEX_LOGDATA=15 This is a bit mask, which cntrls what data is lgged t which lg: 1 = request 2 = respnse 4 = t cnsle 8 = t file 3.7 Cnfiguring Free/Busy Heart Beat Free/Busy Heart Beat is used t keep the persistent cnnectin active frm Dmin Integratin thrugh t the Exchange server. The Heart Beat feature can be mdified by changing the fllwing NOTES.INI settings: BTCOEX_FB_TEST_POLLING Accepted value = <number f minutes between heartbeat messages> Default = 5 BTCOEX_FB_TEST_ACCOUNT Accepted value = <SMTP address> This setting is recmmended. The SMTP address passed frm Dmin t IIS BTAvailability. If it i s a valid Exchange accunt, IIS will send the request t Exchange, ensuring all servers are checked. If it is a valid Exchange accunt, IIS will send the request t Exchange, ensuring all servers are checked. BTEXCHANGESERVER Accepted value = <Exchange server name> If a value fr BTCOEX_FB_TEST_ACCOUNT is nt prvided, "fbtestaccunt@" is prepended t this Exchange server name t create an SMTP address. IIS BTAvailability will nt be able t send a request fr this defaulted user n t Exchange. BTCOEX_NUM_POLLING_FAILS_BEFORE_MSG Accepted value = <number f successive failures befre sending a failure ntificatin> Default = 3 The failure ntificatin is sent t the accunt specified in BTMULTISCHEDREPORTADDRESS. BTCOEX_MINUTES_BETWEEN_FAIL_MSGS Accepted value = <number f minutes between failure ntificatins> Default = 30 Based n this setting, alerts will be sent until a successful test ccurs. 18

19 BTMULTISCHEDREPORTADDRESS Accepted Value = <SMTP address> Default = Nne This parameter defines the value f an additinal address t which ntificatin f a failure is sent. The SMTP address user1@clientdmain.cm is an example f the value that can be assigned t the parameter. This address can als be a grup list if a valid SMTP is assciated with the grup. BTMULTISCHEDREPORTADDRESSTYPE Accepted Value = 0/1/2 Default = 0 This parameter allws the user t specify whether the cnfigured BTMULTISCHEDREPORTADDRESS shuld be placed in the T, CC, r BCC field when sending a mail ntificatin. Acceptable values are 0 (T), 1 (CC) and 2 (BCC), with the default being 0. If the parameter is nt included in the NOTES.INI file r cntains an unacceptable value then the address will appear in the T field as that is the default behavir. 3.8 Verify Free/Busy Task is Running 1. Cnnect t the Dmin Server Cnsle. 2. Issue the cmmand: Shw Task. 3. Verify the task BTFreeBusy Client and HTTP are running. 4. If either task is nt running, issue the apprpriate cmmand: Lad HTTP Lad BTFreeBusy 5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 t verify. 19

20 Sectin 4. Cnfiguring the Windws Cexistence Server During installatin, an additinal setup step t run a prvided cmmand in the Exchange Management Shell is presented. This cmmand sets the Availability Address Space in Exchange fr the Dmin user s Free/Busy requests are sent t Dmin. If this setup step was nt perfrmed during installatin, execute the belw cmmand (the same cmmand presented during installatin) in the Exchange Management Shell: Add-AvailabilityAddressSpace FrestName dmin.<custmersmtpdmain> AccessMethd OrgWideFB UseServiceAccunt:$true The value dmin.<custmersmtpdmain> matches the Targetaddress dmain value f the Dmin users in Active Directry. 20

21 Sectin 5. Verifying Autdiscver, BTAvailability, and BTRuter 5.1 Autdiscver 1. Frm the Cmmand Prmpt windw n the Windws Cexistence server, navigate t %Prgram Files%\BinaryTree\CMT fr Cexistence <versin>exchange\ and ensure that the fllwing files are installed Autdiscver, AvailabilityService, and AvailabilityRuter flders are created in the C:\Prgram Files\BinaryTree\CMT fr Cexistence <versin> flder. Cnnectins.cnfig exists in the Autdiscver, AvailabilityService, and AvailabilityRuter flders exist under C:\Prgram Files\BinaryTree\CMT fr Cexistence <versin>. If web.2010.cnfig exists, rename it t web.cnfig. Unless yu are running Exchange 2007, then rename web.2007 t web.cnfig. 2. Verify that web.cnfig and cnnectins.cnfig are writable (nt Read-Only). 3. Open the IIS Administratr. 4. Navigate t the Default Web Site. 5. Refresh IIS (press <F5>) and verify that Autdiscver virtual applicatin has been added. 6. Next, select the Autdiscver applicatin in the left pane. 7. Duble-click Authenticatin in the right pane. Verify that Basic Authenticatin and Windws Authenticatin are enabled. If nt, enable them. Click the Back buttn. 8. Duble-click Cnnectin Strings in the right pane. Verify that the URL f the EAD value is: CAS Server FQDN>/Autdiscver/Autdiscver.xml Crrect the machine name if incrrect. Click the Back buttn. 9. Duble-click Applicatin Settings. Verify that ExchangeVersin is set t 2010 fr all versins f Exchange except 2007 If yu require credentials t access the Active Directry envirnment, see Appendix B: SetFBCred Utility Verify that Autdiscver is set t \Autdiscver.xsl. 21

22 10. Optinal lg settings: LgAllRequests = False Lg path = c:\lg\autdiscver (must be an existing directry, create if needed) 11. If any f the abve resulted in changes t the applicatin, run the iisreset cmmand in the Cmmand Prmpt windw. 12. Verify that the applicatin is up and running. 13. Open IE and navigate t the fllwing virtual directry: (Ensure that yu are using the same machine name as the SSL certificate issued t the prperty, and that it matches the Autdiscver.<dminSMTPdmain> specified abve). 14. A web page with a blue header that reads BT Autdiscvery Service fr Exchange 2010 Web Services shuld appear. 15. Click BT_GetCnfiguratin. 16. Click Invke. 17. An XML respnse with the crrect endpint fr this machine shuld display in the brwser. 18. Click Back. 19. Click BT_TestAutDiscvery. 20. Enter the address f a Dmin user with the same dmain as previusly entered (fr example, user1@dmin.cnts.cm). 21. Click Invke. 22. A prperly frmatted Autdiscver XML dcument shuld appear, shwing the crrect URL t the BTRuter applicatin. 5.2 BTAvailability 1. Frm the Cmmand Prmpt windw, navigate t %Prgram Files%\BinaryTree\CMT fr Cexistence <versin> Exchange\AvailabilityService. Verify that the flders and files mentined abve are present. If web.2010.cnfig exists, rename it t web.cnfig. Unless yu are running Exchange 2007, then rename web.2007 t web.cnfig. 2. Verify that web.cnfig and cnnectins.cnfig are writable (nt Read-Only). 3. Open the IIS Administratr. 4. Navigate t the Default Web Site. 5. Refresh IIS (press <F5>) and verify that the BTAvailability virtual applicatin has been added. 6. Next, select the BTAvailability applicatin in the left pane. 22

23 7. Duble-click Authenticatin in the right pane. Verify that Basic Authenticatin and Windws Authenticatin are enabled. If nt, enable them. Click the Back buttn. 8. Duble-click Cnnectin Strings in the right pane. Verify that the URL f the EWS value is CAS Server FQDN>/EWS/Exchange.asmx. If the machine name is incrrect, crrect it. Click the Back buttn. 9. Duble-click Applicatin Settings. Verify that ExchangeVersin is set t 2010 fr all versins f Exchange except 2007 If yu require credentials t access the exchange envirnment, see Appendix B: SetFBCred Utility 10. Yu shuld see a webpage with a blue header that reads BT Availability Service fr Exchange Web Services. 14. Click GetCnfiguratin. 15. Click Invke. 16. An XML respnse with the crrect endpint fr this machine shuld display in the brwser. 17. Click Back. 18. Click BT_TestCnnectivity. 19. Add tw addresses f valid Exchange mailbx users (fr example, michael@cnts.cm, david@cnts.cm). 20. Click Invke. 21. Yu shuld see tw string representatins f the Free/Busy stream fr each user fr the current date. 23

24 5.3 BTRuter 1. Frm the Cmmand Prmpt windw, navigate t %Prgram Files%\BinaryTree\CMT fr Cexistence <versin> Exchange\AvailabilityRuter. 2. Verify that the files mentined abve are present. If web.2010.cnfig exists, rename it t web.cnfig. Unless yu are running Exchange 2007, then rename web.2007 t web.cnfig. If Exchange.2010.asmx exists, rename it t Exchange.asmx. 3. Verify that web.cnfig and cnnectins.cnfig are writable (nt Read-Only). 4. Open IIS Administratr. 5. Navigate t the Default Web Site. 6. Refresh IIS (press <F5>) and verify that the BTRuter virtual applicatin has been added. 7. Select the BTRuter applicatin in the left pane. 8. Duble-click Authenticatin. Verify that Basic Authenticatin and Windws Authenticatin are enabled. If nt, enable them. Click the Back buttn. 9. Duble-click Cnnectin Strings.
