1 What We Need from Seniors for the Yearbook Dear Class of 2015 Students and Parents: There are some very important items the yearbook staff needs you to take care of so you can be included in our edition of the yearbook. These include: 1. Formal Portrait Senior Portraits: Must be taken by Leonard's by: Saturday, September 27, Casual Portrait Senior Casuals: Must be ed to me by: Wednesday, October 15, Baby Photo Senior Baby Photo: Must be turned in by: Friday, August 29, Senior Ad Photos and Message Senior Ad Orders: Must be turned in by: Friday, August 29, 2014 Senior Ad Items: Must be turned in by: Friday, September 26, Future Dreams and Favorite Bible Verse Senior Bible verse and quote: Must be turned in by: Friday, August 29, Formal Portrait Critical Overview: You will choose one formal portrait photo for the yearbook. These must be taken by Leonard's Studios to be included in the yearbook. They will schedule a day this summer when all seniors can go and sit for their formal portrait. If for any reason you cannot attend on that day, you can schedule to have your photo taken another day this summer. Details: Leonard's Studios will be taking our Senior formal portraits this year. This studio was recommended by our former portrait photographer who is no longer available to provide this service. Leonard's is located in Casselberry, so it is conveniently close to school, near the intersection of Red Bug and 436. Beginning June 8, sessions were available for sign up online. Please get your photo taken this ASAP if you have not done so yet. All photos must be taken before their studio closes at the end of September if you want to be in the yearbook. Special Notes: Leonard's sent you a packet of information via and/or the post office. Make sure you have scheduled your formal portrait sitting online. If you choose, you may also schedule your casual photos to be taken with them. They will do these on the same day as your formal shot. They offer several packages, inside and outside, and you can look at their options and sample work online at See below for more information on Casual Portraits. Parent Involvement: Please make sure the sitting for your senior is scheduled as soon as possible so we can include everyone in the yearbook. Please let me know how the service is with Leonard's, both what you are happy with and the details of any challenges or problems. As with any new partnership, there will probably be some issues or procedures to address and improve upon, and we thank you ahead of time for your patience and support. Leonard's will post your photos online after the sitting, so please go online and make your choice for the yearbook photo right away. Leonard's will send me your photo directly, so you don't have to worry about sending it to me yourself.

2 2. Casual Portrait Critical Overview: You will send in one casual portrait photo for the yearbook. These can be taken by any professional photographer or even a highly skilled non professional. You can use a photographer we recommend or someone else you know. They/you must me a high resolution version of your chosen photo by October 15. Details: This photo must be digital (do not send a print), vertically oriented, in focus, and high resolution. We need a photo from every senior to include these in the yearbook. Please be sure to send a photo in which you are modestly dressed. Please contact the school if you are not sure what qualifies as modest. If you have a prop in the photo, please make sure it is not something that could be considered a weapon, contrary to school policies, or inappropriate in any way. Special Notes: There are a number of photographers who have provided photos in the past. They offer sittings and photo packages at varying prices. They include: Richmond Gibbs ( ), ValeriC Photography ( ), Tracy Hougham ( ), Anne Dibble, and Ashton Studios. As mentioned above, you can have your casuals taken by Leonard's as well. All of these photographers have websites, so you can look at what kind of work they do. Parent Involvement: I need one or two parent volunteers to help collect and organize these photos. To include them in the yearbook, we must collect everyone's casual photo. Please me if you would be willing to help. 3. Baby Photo Critical Overview: You must send in one baby photo for the senior baby photos yearbook page. Please a digital baby photo to me before the end of August. Details: This must be digital. You can scan your photo if you only have a print version. You can take prints to an office store, copy store, or the photo section of other stores, and they will scan it and give you a digital copy. me your digital copy as an attachment or share it on your Google drive. Senior Ad Photos and Message Critical Overview: Parents, if you would like to honor your seniors in a special way, you can purchase a Senior Ad that goes in the back of the yearbook. Start selecting the photos you want to use and writing your message to your senior. Most parents tell me they wish they had started getting this together in the summer, so I am including a special reminder to get started now. Please turn in your order forms in August, so we can reserve your space. All these items should be in by the end of September. Details: These items must be digital. You can scan your photos if you only have print versions. 3 as well. Look at yearbooks from previous years to decide if you would like to purchase a quarter, half, or full page ad and to get some ideas for what you'd like to include. Each size has a photo quantity limit if we create your ad. If you make your own ad, you can use as many photos as you like. An with details on ordering, sizes, numbers of photos, and cost will be coming, but start planning now. Special Notes: Do not send in prints. We do not want to be responsible for your special and sometimes one of a kind print photos. Thank you! Students will be designing these ads, so be as detailed as possible about how you want your ad to look when it is time to order. Specify colors, if there are any past ads you want it to resemble, etc. Parent Involvement: I need one or two parent volunteers to help collect and organize these orders and items. Please me if you would be willing to help. 5. Future Dreams and Favorite Bible Verse Critical Overview and Details: Seniors, I need you to me a sentence or two about your dreams for the future what you want, what you are planning, what God is revealing to you about what comes after high school. I also need you to me your favorite Bible verse, not just the reference, but the entire verse typed out in the version of your choice. That way we can just copy and paste it into our document. both of these to me. Thanks for your attention to all these details. This means students design and create senior ads and the rest of the yearbook. Our goal is to do our best to please you and complete the yearbook before the end of the school year. This requires a substantial commitment of time from students throughout the year, and volunteers are always welcome to come and contribute to this large scale effort. Thank you! 5 Yearbook Senior Ad Submission of Items Form (Part II) Submission of all parts of my Senior Ad for the 2015 Yearbook: Return this portion of the order form with all of your DIGITAL ad elements (photos/message/layout/completed ad) by Friday, September 26 to Mrs. Castaldi via . If you have any trouble completing this form on a digital device, you can drop off a physical copy at the front office or print, re scan, and it. Select one: Option 1. We created our own ad, and it is attached (via ). Option 2. We would like you to create our ad; everything is attached (via ). Option 1: If you selected Option 1 above, please verify the following. Make sure your photographs are high resolution (300 dpi). Ads you create must be saved in JPEG or TIFF formats (as images). Do not create ads in Word or PowerPoint because these programs will not maintain the high resolution needed for printing. Option 2: If you selected Option 2 above, please check all that apply and fill in the blanks. I have or shared via a drive my 1) message to student in a Word document and 2) photographs. Scanned photographs must be scanned and saved at HIGH resolution (i.e., at least 300 dpi). Lower resolution will result in poor image quality pixilated photos and will require correction (rescanning at a high resolution). If you are unsure of your resolution capabilities, you can take your printed images to a copy center, such as Staples, for scanning. I have included a drawn layout or sample of what we would like the ad to look like. Preferred colors: Ad I saw in a previous yearbook I would like it to look like: Year Page Student Other Notes/requests: Note: If yearbook students are designing your ad, be sure to include a layout of how you would like it. We cannot guarantee your ad will appear exactly as you desire, but we will attempt to design it as closely as possible to what you indicate. If you would like to see your ad before it goes to print, include your phone number(s) here, and we will do our best to contact you and you a picture of it. To see the ad in high resolution, you will need to come to school for a meeting. Contact name, phone, and for checking ad: Name: Phone(s): Read and Check Carefully: If we are compiling your ad, send a maximum of 12 scanned images for a full page ad. If you send more than 12 photos, we reserve the right to choose which 12 to include in your ad. We really don t want to make that decision, so please make it for us before you send your photos. (Sample ads may have more photos if they were created by families.) Maximum of 8 photos for ½ page ad and maximum 5 for ¼ page. Please double check for spelling and grammatical errors. Make sure your layout fits the page size you have chosen (1/4 ads are greater in height, lesser in width). Your ad need not look like ads in prior yearbooks.
