Any bid which is not accompanied with an EMD shall be summarily rejected. Earnest money deposited will be forfeited if the tenderer withdraws or amends its tender or impairs or derogates from the tender in any respect within the period of validity of its tender. No interest will be paid on the earnest money of the unsuccessful bidders. 2 Scope of Work The server will consist of the components as per the specification given in the Annexure. Specifically bidder must install the complete system interconnecting all the components in GCF Lab. at E&ECE Department of the institute and any accessories needed must be clearly mentioned and quoted as part of the tender. The GCF Lab has 60 Solaris Sun Ray Thin Client connected to Sun Fire X4170 server. Users should be able to remotely login to the supplied server from these thin clients in addition to other necessary connectivity with the institute LAN. Terms and Conditions 1. The bidder must install the entire hardware system with Windows Server 2008 R2 and demonstrate (i) Compatibility between different software and hardware components, (ii) Connectivity of the server to the institute LAN. 2. All licenses supplied must be perpetual with free upgrades for the entire warranty period. 3. The bidder should be ISO certified. 4. The bidder should be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or authorized dealer/distributor of the systems (Attach documentary proof from the OEM). The authorization letter issued by the OEM (specifically against this tender) should be enclosed. If the OEMs for some of the equipment are different, authorization letters must be enclosed for each OEM. 5. The server OEM must be in the "Leaders" quadrant of the latest Gartner's Magic Quadrant and having server business in India for at least 15 years. 6. The OEM Should be 10 year presence in server business in East INDIA, and own support office in East India. 7. Any service request must be attended to within the next business day. Both the bidder and the OEM must have sales and support service centres in India. The bidder should provide the locations of sales and support service centre of both the bidder and the OEM in India. If the OEM will provide first level support for some equipment, certification to this effect from the OEM must be provided. 8. Technical bid should contain all relevant technical details; printed technical leaflet of models quoted and other details, which may be necessary to ensure that the offer is complete in all respect e.g. technical specifications, etc. 9. Technical bid should also contain a Compliance Certificate duly signed by the bidder. 10. Price should be quoted only in Indian Rupees on free delivery at site inclusive of GST 11. Warranty Delivery & Installation Must support latest versions of Redhat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Canonical Ubuntu and Windows 2008 R2/ Windows 2012 R2 Standard/ Enterprise version. Must support latest versions of virtualization software such as VMWare and RHEV (RedHat Enterprise Virtualization). Windows 2008R2 Standard license (academic) along with 50 Device CALs and 50 RDS CALs should be provided. The license must be perpetual with free upgrades for the entire warranty period. 5 years OEM ONSITE (24 X 7 call logging) warranty. The vendor will have to provide warranty certificate from both OEM as well vendor after installation and commissioning. The installation should be free of cost at IIT Kharagpur. Bidder must demonstrate complete functioning of the system to the satisfaction to the IIT Kharagpur evaluation committee. ALTERNATIVELY, THE ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED AND THE UNDELIVERED STORES PURCHASED FROM ELSEWHERE AT THE RISK AND EXPENSE OF SUPPLIER. (12) PATENT RIGHTS: THE SUPPLIER SHALL INDEMNIFY THE PURCHASE AGAINST ALL THIRD PARTY CLAIMS OF INFRINGEMENT OF PATENT, TRADEMARK OR INDUSTRIAL DESIGN RIGHTS ARISING FROM USE OF THE GOODS OR ANY PART THEREOF IN INDIA. (13) ONLY THOSE BIDDERS WHOSE BIDS HAVE BEEN TECHNICALLY FOUND ACCEPTABLE WILL BE INVITED FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE PRICE BID. (14) THOSE BIDDERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE ANY COMMUNICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN PRICE BID OPENING MEETING MAY PRESUME THAT THEIR BID HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE INSTITUTE.
