1 You are required to design and produce a document of at least two A4 sides and containing at least 150 words. Your work needs to include: Background information. Details of data processing activities within the organisation. Evidence of document design. Evidence of the use of basic features in your desktop publishing work. Evidence of the use of advanced features in your desktop publishing work. An evaluation. Details of the compression and storage techniques that you have used. This self-assessment review is an important part of your work. It shows you what you need to be able to do in each component of the task. The review will help you to identify the work that you need to do to achieve your target grade. Shade in the start of task column and the end of task column using the traffic light code : GREEN = You can carry out the activity without any help AMBER = You can carry out the activity, but need some help RED = You do not understand what is meant by the statement and are unable to carry out the activity When you have completed your portfolio of evidence use the third column to record the location of your work in your portfolio. 1 of 5

Document design I can describe the purpose of my document. I can describe the intended audience for my document. I can describe the image and / or ethos that my document is trying to convey. I can produce a detailed set of designs that are annotated to show: An explanation of the features to be used in my document including; page size, orientation, margin sizes, font styles, font sizes and paragraph styles. The origin of the graphics or other imported data that will be used in my document. An explanation of any processing of the images or text that is required before they can be used in my document. The settings for the tabs and indents that I will use in my document. An explanation of how my data might be compressed and stored. 2 of 5
