7 To log in to idata, go to Enter your credentials when prompted

8 Click on the idata logo from the main screen

9 Main Screen This screen will take the user to any of the given dashboards listed in the top left hand corner. These dashboards will provide an overview of the district in each of the given categories.

10 Data Dashboards A dashboard is a visual display of the most important information needed to achieve one or more objective. The data is consolidated and arranged on a single screen so the information can be viewed at a glance. All the visualizations fit on a single screen. It shows the most important performance measures to be monitored. Filtering and drill down can be used in a dashboard, but its primary purpose is to give an automatically updated snapshot view of important data.

11 Graduation Dashboard This dashboard will provide a snapshot view of graduation data for a given cohort, the August graduation rate, as well as the rate for the following cohort. Data is broken up in three categories: Total students, Economically Disadvantaged, and Students with Disabilities. Both percentages and counts are shown, as well as a total student count.

12 Course Passing Dashboard This dashboard allows you to get a snapshot view of the percentage of students as well as the number of students passing courses for each quarter as well as the final grade. By clicking on the blue tab on the left, you can adjust the level to view.

13 Selecting an Individual Course for Course Passing Data From the Course Passing dashboard, click the selections tab to select a course by cohort year, school year, specific course name, and filter subgroups for students with disabilities and economically disadvantaged, if desired.

14 Regents Dashboard Clicking on the Selections tab from this screen will allow you to view the percent passing and percent mastery for all students, as well as for the subgroups of Students with Disabilities and Economically Disadvantaged for a given Regents exam in a given school year.

15 SWD and 504 Dashboard This dashboard gives an overview of the number and percentage of students with disabilities and 504 accommodations by grade, by building, and number of students overall. Clicking the Selections tab will allow the user to filter the data by building, year, grade, status, cohort year, and gender.

16 NYS 3 8 Dashboard Click the selections button to select a given exam, then return to this dashboard to see the percent proficient and mastery, number proficient and mastery, and the number of tests for given subgroups.

17 Attendance Dashboard From this dashboard, the absence count can be viewed for any given date. Line graphs show data for all students, students with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged. Clicking the Change Attendance Type button will toggle the view from Absent Count to Tardy Count.

18 Discipline Dashboard This dashboard provides the number and percentage of students with at least one discipline incident, as well as the number and percentage of students with a given discipline count. Clicking the selections tab will allow the user to filter the search by school year, enrollment grade, status, cohort year, gender, and year. Once the filters have been selected, click the Selections tab again to see the selected data charted. Clicking the Student Details option allows the user to see the incident details for the selected students.

19 At Risk selections Selections can be made using the sliding scales to filter the data using the specified criteria. Slide the buttons to the desired filtering, then click the button to get your results. To see details on specific students selected, click the button. Click the NYS Test Cutpoints arrow in the middle of the screen to open an Excel file of the cut scores for the selected year for the 3 8 ELA, Math, and Science exams.

20 Advanced selections from idata From the main idata screen, click the Advanced button to see additional selection options. Click on a given grey box; a dropdown menu will appear with the available filter options. Once the selections are made, click the icons on the left to see the resulting data.

21 idata Demographics Tab The Demographics screen breaks down students by cohort year, current grade level, ethnicity, ELL Status, Disability status, Econ. Dis. Status, and Gender. Any of the graphs can be clicked on and selected to drill down into that subgroup. Selecting the Details tab will bring up the selected students information. Selected filters can be seen here. Click the eraser next to a option to remove it from your filter.

23 Student Profile The student profile will give an overall picture for a given student, including course grades, absences, discipline, test levels, and interventions. Clicking on any of those headings will display information available for that student. Clicking the Report button will create a PDF report of that student.

24 idata Exams tab The Exams tab allows you to see performance data for state tests. Click atest type to view. The Analysis screen for exams will show counts by performance level for each NYS exam with options for viewing the data by cohort or subgroup. Any part of the graphs can be selected to see a filtered view of the data. Graphs are color coded by performance level. The graphs in the lower area of the screen can be viewed for various subgroups within that data set.

25 Note that your current selections can be viewed at the bottom of the screen. To remove a filter, simply click the eraser next to it. The designates a printable report or the ability to export the data to Excel. Create a report by clicking the Report button.

26 Click and drag the mouse over a selected area of a graph to filter a selection. Click the options on the left to see demographic information about the selected group or the details tab to see details about specific students. Data can be filtered using the selections at the bottom of the screen as well.

27 Student Detail The Student detail screen can be sorted by category. Click the arrow next to the column you want to sort by. Data can be printed or exported to Excel.

28 Courses Data can be viewed for specific courses; the initial screen shows counts by performance level of numeric grades for each grading interval with options for viewing the data by cohort and subgroups.

29 Graphs show the Students overall performance are graphically represented by grade range. The graphs at the bottom of the screen allow you filter this data.

30 Clicking one of the date specific bars will graph the student averages for each quarter of the course. Click on a specific section of a bar graph and select Details to see student specific data.

31 Attendance The Attendance View will allow you to see trends for subgroups over a period of time. Click the dropdown menu on the bottom two graphs to compare the selected groups. Select the type of absence you want to see along the top of the graphs.

32 Interventions The interventions tab will allow you to see the number of students flagged for interventions based on state test performance as well as students receiving interventions. Clicking on the graph at any given point will allow you to narrow down your search.

33 Selecting a group of students for analysis From the details page, place your mouse at the top of the list you want to select. Hold the left mouse button down and scroll to select the students you need. The selected students will be highlighted in green. You will then see the students added in the selected criteria box. From this point, you can change the other criteria for this selected group of students to compare data for this group.

34 Teacher Tab The teacher tab allows the user to plot a selected X and Y axis to create a scatter chart comparison. Hovering the mouse over a plot will show a specific student s name and selected values.

35 Discipline tab The Discipline View will allow you to see trends for subgroups over a period of time. Click the dropdown menu on the bottom two graphs to compare the selected groups.

36 Creating a Bookmark To save a selected search criteria, click the Star icon with the plus symbol and name your report. This selection will be saved in the dropdown menu.

37 iexam Best Regents/RCTs From the iexam main screen, click the blue button to view a chart of student performance on all exams Allows for viewing the highest score each student received on Regents and RCTs
