5 Developing Reasoning and Problem Solving Geometry: Shape Sort 2D Shapes 1. Simon has sorted them correctly. The shapes are all triangles because they all have 3 sides and corners. 2. Wanda has not sorted them correctly. The yellow shape is a circle. 3. Sonia has not sorted them correctly. The pink shape is a triangle not a rectangle. 4. Rowan has not sorted them correctly. The red shape is a square, it is just a different way round. Secure 5. Edward has sorted them correctly. The first group are all circles and the second group are not circles. 6. Charis has not sorted them correctly. The purple shape is a rectangle. It should be in the other group. 7. Arjun has not sorted them correctly. The red shape is a triangle and should be in the other group. 8. Alanna has not sorted them correctly. The pink shape is a square, it is just a different way round. It should be in the other group. Mastery 9. Yusra has not sorted them correctly. The blue shape has both curved and straight sides. It should be in the middle group. 10. Ricardo has not sorted them correctly. The blue square as 4 sides that are all of equal length. It should be in the middle group. 11. Shaun has not sorted them correctly. The yellow, orange and pink rectangles should be in the middle because all rectangles also have 4 sides. 12. Hannah has not sorted them correctly. The pink circle is not a triangle but does have 1 side so should be in the group with the orange and green circles. Reasoning and Problem Solving Geometry: Shape Sort 2D Shapes ANSWERS
