2 CERTIFICATE No CF 188 LEADERFLUSH SHAPLAND LEADERFLUSH SHAPLAND LAMCOR This approval relates to the use of the above doorsets in providing fire resistance of 60 minutes integrity and 60 minutes insulation (if incorporating not more than 20% of uninsulating glass) as defined in BS 476: Part 22: Subject to the undermentioned conditions, the doors would be expected to meet the relevant requirements of BS 5588 for FD60 doorsets when used in accordance with the provisions therein. 2. This certification is designed to demonstrate compliance of the product or system specifically with Approved Document B (England and Wales), Section D of the Technical Standards (Scotland), Technical Booklet E (N. Ireland). If compliance is required to other regulatory or guidance documents there may be additional considerations or conflict to be taken into account. 3. The doors are approved on the basis of: i) Initial type testing ii) Audit testing at the frequency specified in TS10 iii) A design appraisal against TS10 iv) Certification of quality management system to ISO 9001: v) Inspection and surveillance of factory production control 4. The doorsets comprise door leaves with a softwood or hardwood lamella core within a softwood or hardwood internal perimeter frame and 10 mm thick fire retardant chipboard facings, for use with timber frames and backfilled steel frames (code ITT & ITM FD60). ONLY VALID WHEN AUTHENTIC 5. This approval is applicable to both complete doorsets and door leaves. Where the door is not supplied in a completely fitted form it is a condition of this approval that an agreed data sheet accompanies the product and is complied with in its entirety. CERTIFIRE SEAL 6. This approval is applicable to single and double-acting, single and double-leaf, latched and unlatched ITT doorsets and single-acting, single and double-leaf, latched and unlatched ITM doorsets at leaf dimensions up to those given in Tables 1-2. Double-leaf doorsets incorporating unequal sized door leaves are also permitted, as detailed within the data sheet. IS IN PLACE 7. Where required, hardware items, including closing devices and intumescent edge seals, shall be CERTIFIRE approved or otherwise as specified in the data sheet. 8. The doorsets shall be mechanically fixed to wall constructions having a fire resistance of at least 60 minutes. 9. Labels to the BWF/CERTIFIRE design referencing, CERTIFIRE and CERTIFIRE Ref. 4 LEADERFLUSH SHAPLAND LAMCOR 60 CF 188 DATA SHEET 1. General This door leaf has been fire tested and is certified by CERTIFIRE, reference CF188 as being capable of providing fire resistance of 60 minutes integrity and 60 minutes insulation (if incorporating not more than 20% of uninsulating glass) as defined in BS 476: Part 22: 1987, when installed in accordance with the following conditions. Subject to these, the door will meet the relevant requirements of BS 5588 for FD 60 doorsets when used in accordance with the provisions therein. In recognition of this, the leaf carries a prefixed label on the top or hanging edge of the door, issued under the terms of the BWF - CERTIFIRE scheme. This label uniquely identifies the door leaf, the manufacture of which complies with BS: ISO 9000 for quality systems and is subject to on-going surveillance. This label shall not be removed. It is emphasised that the certification is conditional upon the following instructions being complied with in their entirety. Failure to do so will invalidate this approval and may jeopardise the fire performance of the door. Door assemblies supplied pre-fitted with components by may be considered to meet the requirements in respect of those items. 2. Door Leaf and Overpanel Dimensions This leaf may be used in single or double-acting, single-leaf or double-acting, latched and unlatched ITT doorsets and single-acting, single and double-leaf ITM doorsets at leaf dimensions up to those given in Tables 1-2. Double-leaf doorsets including unequal sized door leaves are permitted on the assumption that the smaller leaf is no less than 30 % of the width of the larger leaf. The smaller leaf of such doorsets should be rendered inactive by top and bottom surface mounted shoot bolts or flush bolts protected by nominally 1 mm thick Interdens. Supporting Construction The door assemblies are approved to be installed in brick, block, masonry or timber or steelstud of minimum thickness 85 mm, providing at least 60 minutes fire resistance. 5. Installation The opening may be lined with hardwood which shall be continuous and of minimum width, 85 mm. Each door frame jamb to be fixed through to the wall at not less than four points with steel or nylon frame fixings screwed and plugged at maximum 600 mm centres and penetrating the wall to at least 50 mm. Architrave is optional with no restrictions on material, size or fixing. A maximum of two doorsets may be installed with frames back to back in which case a single 25 mm wide by 2 mm thick Palusol 100P or Type 617 seal shall be recessed into the back of one frame and the frames screwed from alternate sides at maximum 300 mm centres. The banked jambs shall also be fixed to the floor and lintel above and be installed into masonry or concrete supporting constructions only. Glazing Bars Hardwood glazing bars may be included with all glass types but with the exception of 23 mm Pyrostop/Pyrobel the bars must incorporate either 2 No. 20 x 4 mm Palusol/617 seals or 1 No. 25 x 3 mm Pyroglaze seal between the bar and the glass. Intumescent Seals All seals to specification and to be CERTIFIRE approved. Seals may be interrupted at hinge and latch positions. Overpanels may be utilised with a transom rail and shall include a single 20 mm wide by 4 mm thick Lorient Polyproducts Palusol or Type 617 LP2004 positioned centrally within all four of the panel in addition to the specification below: Page 6 of 8

Hinges Hinges shall be CE marked in accordance with BS EN 1935 for use on fire resisting timber doors, in addition to the specifications below: Number: Doors mm high, 2 hinges per leaf Doors 2134 mm high, 3 hinges per leaf Doors > 2134 mm high, 4 hinges per leaf Type: Steel, Phosphor bronze or brass butt, journal supported, lift off and fixed pin. Any washers or ball bearings to be of phosphor bronze or steel. Positions: 200 mm, mid-height and 200 mm ( 50 mm) from the head of the leaf. Situations where 4 No. hinges are fitted, the two middle hinges are to be fitted as per the manufacturers recommendations. Latches Latches are optional (see Table 1 for requirements) although when fitted shall be CE marked in accordance with BS EN for use on fire resisting timber doors, in addition to the specification below: Mortice type, automatic (sprung) latch bolt, cylinder rim night latches and knobsets. 11 10. Self Closing Devices All unlatched doorsets shall be fitted with a face fixed surface mounted or concealed overhead door closer. Not essential for fire performance if the doorset incorporates a latch and the leaf is in the closed and fully latched position. A self-closing device is however required to be fitted to satisfy fire regulations and if fitted shall be a CERTIFIRE approved product. Note: closers with mechanical hold-open mechanisms are not permitted to be used. Transom closers and concealed overhead closers can be used, please contact Leaderflush Shapland for further details. Double-acting doorsets are to be fitted with a CERTIFIRE approved floor spring and associated hardware (Top Pivot) or double action concealed closers, contact Leaderflush Shapland for further details and are to be bedded onto 1 mm thick Interdens. 11. Protection Plates Plates of steel, brass, aluminium, PVC and laminates may be installed on one or both faces of the proposed door leaves using thermo-softening adhesive, maximum 2 mm thick. Screws may be used within 50 mm of each corner, additional screw fixings are to be no closer than 250 mm spacing on height and width where the plate dimensions permit. They are not to be installed onto the stop side of the door leaf such that they are between the leaf and the stop. 12. Flush Bolts Steel flush bolts of dimensions up to 609 mm long by 20 mm wide by 24 mm deep may be fitted within either face or the edge of the leaf and shall be bedded onto 1 mm thick Interdens material. 13. Air Transfer Grille Lorient Polyproducts LV20 and 25 and LV40 air transfer grilles may be fitted into factory prepared apertures. No site cutting of apertures is permitted. The aperture is to be lined with intumescent mastic/paste and the grille fixed with a minimum 35 mm long screws at a minimum 200 mm centres. 14. Recessed Pull Handles 54 mm thick doorsets may include singular or offset back to back, recessed pull handles in stainless steel or aluminium. The leaf cut-out shall be completely lined with 1 mm thick Interdens. Contact for further details 15.
