6 EPICMIX TIME TALKING POINTS Time is only available through the apps, not on the desktop or mobile web versions of EpicMix What is Time and how does it work: Smartphones typically broadcast Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals. EpicMix is using these signals anonymously to calculate the line times at participating chair lifts. It is a similar technology that is used to calculate traffic patterns. If you do not wish for your information to be included, you can turn off your devices Wi-Fi and Bluetooth services. The services see when guest enters and exists a maze line using their cell phone signals and will calculate how long the person was in line for. The median of all times are used so that outliers (people standing outside maze line, ski school lines, etc..) are excluded and not counted as part of the line time. What is GPS and how does it work: Your phone's GPS Signal is used to display your location on a map. Your current location is only used to update your location on the map and is not saved by EpicMix. It is a similar technology that is used in mapping apps to show you your location. If you do not wish to see your location, you can turn off GPS on your device. location services must be turned on to be seen as blue dot 6

7 EPICMIX TIME TALKING POINTS How can guests use Time: To better navigate the mountain using real time chairlift line times and the ability to see your location on the mountain. Get more from the mountain with EpicMix, the official app of Vail Resorts. Maximize your time on the mountain by comparing lift line times in the free ios or Android App. This new functionality will allow you to view lift line times from your phone whenever you like while you navigate the mountain. Plus, this revolutionary feature is introducing GPS functionality allowing you to see your location on the trail map. Get started today by downloading the app. Do all chairlift have real time line times? Not all chairlifts will be calculating line time, but all chairlifts will have at least a status of open or closed. 7
