As of 212/13, palm oil is the most consumed vegetable oil, occupying 33% of total market share. It is expected to increase to 38% by 219/2. Palm oil has shown the most resilient growth of 7.7% per annum over the same period. Food production and usage accounts for up to 76% of total vegetable oil consumed in 212/13 Vegetable oils are predominantly used for food production and cooking, and food use has grown at a CAGR of 4.2% between 1992/93 and 212/13.
