Phase III - Bridgeland HS Network Installation Update This week MCA has been running the fiber required for the IDFs in the Cafeteria, the pool, the Auditorium, the Concession stand and the Press Box at Bridgeland HS. This is a hard task as you can see in the video, it requires a lot of manpower and energy from all parties. Thank you MCA for all your do!!! Enterprise Communication Network Posted by Elizabeth Montes Network Analyst
Phase III - Bridgeland HS Network Installation Update Every fiber optic cable installation is different because there are different variables for every situation. MCA Communications is accustomed to getting this work completed either by digging trenches to bury the cables for underground installation, or string them along telephone poles for aerial installations. Once the fiber optic cable installation is complete outdoors, MCA will then complete the process inside Bridgeland HS. Enterprise Communication Network Posted by Elizabeth Montes Network Analyst
Phase III - Bridgeland HS Network Installation Update Richard Martinez MCA Mike Herrera/Javier Ramirez MCA Elizabeth Montes is working with MCA Communications to complete network connectivity at Bridgeland HS as soon as possible. MCA Communications is working seven days a week in an attempt to meet CFISD s deadline. Enterprise Communication Network Posted by Elizabeth Montes Network Analyst

Enterprise Communication Network Posted by Michael Raspet, Network Analyst/NIC Bane Elementary School Construction Update Fiber and data cables were cut during the demolition at Bane ES. Fiber casing on the utility pole from which the new fiber will be spliced and pulled into the MDF at Bane ES. Michael Raspet met Pete Cavazos from PS/Lightwave at Bane ES on Friday after a reported fiber cut during demolition. After closer inspection we determined that the main fiber and many data cables were cut or damaged. It appears that a new fiber will be run from the casing on the utility pole under the parking lot and into the MDF. The replacement fiber should be completed by the opening of school in three weeks.
Enterprise Communication Networks Posted by Ray Leung, Network Analyst Hoover Wireless Access Point Deployment Aruba Wireless AP Hoover Elementary, July 27, MCA and Layer3 onsite to assist with Aruba Access Point deployment. MCA assisted with relocating a couple of APs drops that were pulled to some hard to service areas. Layer3 crew onsite in strong numbers to complete the AP deployment.
ISC Aruba AP s Cutover CFISD planned to cutover to the new Aruba AP s on July 31 at 5 PM. Prior to that, in order to resolved the communication issues between FortAuthenticator and the new AD servers, Andrew Tran and Joel McCotter ( with Layer 3 ) made changes to the Brocade switches and DC3 and DC4 firewalls. On Monday, July 31, 2017, Andrew Tran found out the those changes broke the communication between the primary and secondary Bluecat address manager ( BAM s ). Joel McCotter was able to resolve that issue but the replication error between the 2 BAM s were still exist. Around 1 PM Andrew Tran made changes to the ISC scope adding options 43 and 60on the primary BAM. Ray Leung saw that the Aruba AP s started to comes online and registering to the Aruba controllers. This was a good sign and the cutover were continue as schedule. On the evening of August 1, 2017, Andrew Tran worked with Bluecat engineer to re-sync both BAM s and that resolved the replication error. Enterprise Communications Network Posted By: Andrew Tran
Aruba Wireless Deployed at ISC/N, ISC/S, and ISC/W On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, the new Aruba wireless network was deployed to ISC/N, ISC/S, and ISC/W. A team of Technology staff members fanned out into the building to ensure that all users knew how to properly connect to the new wireless system. Pictured left is Glen Carpenter verifying that the Finance staff is able to connect to the new wireless network. There were107 Aruba wireless access points installed in the Instructional Support Center. Enterprise Communications Network Posted By: Paula Ross, Director of Network Infrastructure and Communications
Older Cisco Wireless Access Points Removed ISC/N, ISC/S, and ISC/W On Thursday, August 3, 2017, Layer 3 Communications began removing the older Cisco wireless access points. Due to the fact that Technology Services did not have a map to reflect where these access points were located, the team had to utilize a network tool to help them find the older access points. When the network tool was not successful locating these older access points, the team relied on MCA Communications and their knowledge of our infrastructure. Pictured left is Benito with MCA removing an older Cisco wireless access point. Enterprise Communications Network Posted By: Paula Ross, Director of Network Infrastructure and Communications
MCA Communications Verifying Cat6A Cable is Properly Installed at All Sites On Noted above is the schedule for MCA Communications verifying all CAT6A cable is properly installed at all campuses. This verification is necessary to minimize any problems with the newly installed Aruba wireless access points. The dedicated team has completed Cy Fair, Cy Creek, Cy Falls, and Cy Lakes HS.
