Any required structured cabling installation will be managed under District s existing wiring/maintenance contract. Q18. Will Lee School employees be removing the existing equipment located at each location/school? A18. Equipment/infrastructure varies by campus/facility. District staff will determine needs and manage logistics per site on a case by case basis. Q19. Is there an interest for the equipment to come pre-configured with Lee School standard configurations? A19. No. District staff will configure data switches and wireless network equipment as required.
3 Q20. For the Cisco 4500 s, some sites are shown only requiring parts, vs complete chassis, for these sites, will the District accept an equivalent product to fulfill the need for this bid, as well as the full replacement of the 4500 s where applicable? If so, we would need to know the required number of ports, type and quantity for each site. A20. The District will consider equivalent products assuming total project cost, including replacement cost of existing chassis and associated equipment, is favorable and performance characteristics are comparable to costs required to upgrade existing infrastructure components. Assume an average of one chassis, two power supplies, two 48 port switch models, one controller/processor module, and one multiport line module (to interconnect other IDF/TR data switches via MM fiber - include options for 1 and 10 GB interfaces for these line modules) per location that does not have a core switch specified. Q21. Will the District accept a virtual chassis solution for the core, which meets or exceeds the Cisco 4500 s specifications? A21. No. Q22. Cisco 2960Xs are equipped with SFP+ ports, but only SFP optics are used. For a switch to be considered equivalent, will you require SFP+ or is SFP acceptable. A22. SFP and SFP+ are required.
