This Addendum shall, however, take precedence over all requirements of the previously issued drawings and specifications with which it may prove to be a variance unless otherwise clarified by the Engineer. This Addendum must be acknowledged in the appropriate space and on the Bidder s Declaration and be attached for submission. Tenders not identifying this Addendum, as required, may be rejected as informal. See attached. END OF ADDENDUM

2 ADDENDUM No. 1 Project Number: Date: 2016-NOV-23 Issued to: City of Stratford Project Description: T16-17_Entry Control System, CCTV and WiFi Project Project Location: Multi Residential buildings in Stratford Area Total Number of Pages: 4 This addendum forms part of the Contract documents and amends the original drawings, specifications, and details. CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Q1.: 45 Buckingham floorplan, in Penthouse has device labelled FAB, Not defined within drawing. A1.: FAB = Fire Alarm Booster Panel 2. Q2.: Drawing Riser diagrams state that PoE network switches shall have a Maximum 24 ports, can 48 port switches be used to reduce number of switches required? A2.: Maximum 24 ports preferred but the 48 port PoE network switches are acceptable to reduce the installation cost 3. Q2.: Are we to use patch panels for all network devices or wiring direct into network switches. A3.: Use of the patch panels for all network devices is not recommended. Wiring direct into network switches is preferred unless the site conditions permit for otherwise. NAE to review and approve shop-drawings prior to final installation. 4. Q4.: Do any/all buildings have dropped ceilings in common areas? A4.: Many of the residential building have a T-bar ceiling in corridors and common areas. Contractor to verify on site and price work accordingly. Entry System: 1. Q1.: Are Access cards to be included? If so how many per unit? A1.: Access Cards are not part of this project however, the new Entry Control system must have the capacity for the provision of future upgrades to a minimum of 2 access cards per each unit plus 10% spares for each building. 2. Q2.: Section Physical Requirements.4 Electronic door latching hardware and associated conduit and boxes shall be provided by the Security Contractor as shown on the drawings. Is the bidder considered the Security contractor? Nothing shown on the drawings as to door latching hardware. A2.: YES, the bidder or their sub is considered the Security Contractor. The existing door latching hardware is to be reused. Integrate the new Entry Control system to operate the existing door hardware. The new Entry Control system must have the capacity for the provision of future additional entrance upgrades. Rev. March, 2010 Page 1 of 4

3 (Typical for each building) 3. Q3.: None of the drawings show where card readers will be required, will these be required on all general purpose exterior doors? Is wiring currently in place for card readers? A3.: Access Cards are not part of this project. However the new Entry Control system must have the capacity for the provision of future upgrades to add card readers at main entrance, exit doors and all service rooms Wireless Network: 1. Q1.: Wireless network access points are to be capable of connecting to the City of Stratford hybrid fibre/802.11n MESH network by means of a specially designated wireless port installed by the supplier specifically for this purpose. Is there a recommended product for this installation? A1.: New Cisco Switch 2960 Series. Confirm the exact requirements with the IT department from the City of Stratford 2. Q2.: Riser diagram has Cisco Switch shown in each drawing, is this unit existing, or does it need to be supplied? If supplied is there a model number for a specific unit? A2.: New Cisco Switch 2960 Series. Confirm the exact requirements with the IT department from the City of Stratford 3. Q3.: Riser diagram has Hub Server unit shown in each drawing, is this unit existing, or does it need to be supplied? If supplied is there a make and model number for a specific unit? A3.: New Hub Server is to be supplied. Confirm the exact requirements with the IT department form the City of Stratford 4. Q4.: Is the existing MESH Wireless Infrastructure connecting the buildings a Layer2 Infrastructure, ie LAN Extension single flat network or is it routed with subnets? A4.: YES, the existing MESH Wireless is a Layer 2 Infrastructure, routed with subnets. Confirm the exact requirements with the IT department form the City of Stratford 5. Q5.: The drawings show the Access Points only in the common areas however under the Wireless Network Standard specification Part 1, Item 2- Utilization specifies Prior to the installation of any wireless devices, the network provider shall review the usage requirements for each building to determine the optimum number of wireless access points needed to efficiently support all users in the area simultaneously. For the purposes of completing this survey, it shall be assumed that each suite will be equipped with up to four (4) wireless devices which require network access. Space configuration, construction materials and potential sources of RF interference shall be taken into consideration when conducting the site survey. Also Part 2 Section 4 The number of access points required in each facility is to be determined by the supplier based on the provided estimates of demand for users and the size of the area to be covered. 4 A5.: The new WiFi system shall be capable for future expansion and upgrades. Exact location and quantity of the Access Points to be confirmed on site. CCTV: 1. Q1.: On Drawings Key Note 3: PROVIDE NEW POE INDUSTRIAL SWITCH EQUIVALENT TO MIRCOM MODEL: LANOLINX LNP-2602GN, As outlined within Section Network Connection.1 System shall be capable of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) network connection, however network switch specified is only capable of gigabit connection using the two (2) Ethernet GBIC SFP Ports. Device ports are only capable of supporting 10/100 networking speed. Is gigabit networking required to each device or only between network switches and router? A1.: Min 1 gigabit networking required only between network switches and router. 2. Q2.: Section Part2: Products.4.1 Power Source: 24vac, 14watts, however all cameras specified are Power over Ethernet (PoE) A2.: All cameras to be serviced via PoE. 24V for heaters on exterior cameras. 3. Q4.: Section Part2: Products.7 Power Supplies, States Mini cameras shall be supplied with 24VDC power supply converters, Cameras specified are PoE only A3.: All cameras to be serviced via PoE. 24V for heaters on exterior cameras. 4. Q4.: Section Part2: Products.7 Power Supplies.1 states all cameras will be supplied 24VAC from power supply located on each floor, contradicts above requirement and camera requirements on building drawings stating that cameras are to be 24VDC, but are also to be PoE. A4.: All cameras to be serviced via PoE. 24V for heaters on exterior cameras. 5. Q5.: On Drawings Key Note 5: In relation to Camera Specifications, the Avigilon cameras do not specify number of Mega Pixels (MP) for each model, these cameras are available from 1-30MP A5.: 30MP 6. Q6.: How many days storage required for camera recordings? A6.: days on motion activation for camera recording 7. Q7.: What resolution are the cameras to record at (CIF, MJPEG, H.264)? A7.: H Q8.: What speed of recording is required in Frames per second (FPS) 1-30? A8.: FPS = Q9.: How are the cameras to record (24/7, Motion detection, Alarm/event recording, or combination of all)? 5 10. Q10.: Are microcomputer specifications available from the City of Stratford Purchasing department for Pan/tilt and zoom Controller which is to be installed onto microcomputer. A10.: No specifications are available through the City of Stratford Purchasing department for Pan/tilt and zoom Controllers. Provide shop drawings to the consultant for approval prior to ordering.
