Currently this is a 6-core unit which would be excessive based on target use. Please clarify rack size and if this is provided by City or contractor. This also implies that the central system is a rack mounted computer is that correct. 2/18/ :33:14 AM Regarding reference #100 - Railroad coordination: In order to obtain a premium quote we need to know the required insurance limits. In most cases the limits required are $2,000,000 each occurrence limit and $6,000,000 aggregate. Please clarify the required libility insurance requirements for this project. In regards to the Railroad Insurance requirements referenced in Addendum #2, CSX will not provide needed information due to security concerns. In order to obtain liability insurance for CSX Railroad, we need to know the following information: Are these tracks Mainline, Branch, or Spur? #of trains per day # of freight trains # of passenger trains Shoo-fly or other trackage available? What insurance limits are required? Also, per CSX: Who will be responsible for the agreement for the fiber? An application will need to be submitted to the Railroad and there are associated fees. The operator workstation application needs to be installed on each operator workstation computer. Workstations are able to access the central computer over local or remote access connections. Please clarify the need for web based hosting Although secure web-browser access to the Central Software would be a desirable feature, it is not required. At minimum, the Central Software should be accessible from at least four remote workstations (securely and simultaneously) on the City s LAN or through the internet. This can be accomplished with a client-side application installed on the remote workstations or a browserbased interface. Page 1

If so please provide details. Is there an available logical network design that would explain its use. The requirement for DHCP Option 82 is intended to provide flexibility in the future (including support for fiber and wireless network integration). The Ethernet Switches shall support DHCP Option 82 as indicated in the specification for future use, however implementation of DHCP Option 82 is not required for this deployment. Page 2

4 2/14/2011 5:50:27 PM Ethernet Switch Network Requirements: leee802.1q-2005 MSTP (FORMERLY 802.1S: this may be used in large redundant ring topologies, but for smaller ring networks RTSP is normally used. Is this a necessary requirement based on the network design. Is there an available logical network design to see if redundant paths are indeed necessary. The requirement for MSTP is intended to provide support for multiple VLAN s which may be implemented in the future. The Ethernet Switches shall support MSTP as indicated in the specification for future use, however implementation of MSTP is not required for this deployment. The Contractor shall be responsible for configuring switches to provide communication between the central server and field devices. In addition, general guidelines for network configuration (ie, IP addressing, ports, gateways, etc.) will be provided prior to switch setup by the City s IT management firm. 2/8/2011 2:40:20 PM Ref.#31 - PTZ Camera Is there a preferred camera for this project? Not able to locate a camera that meets both the 20 degrees above horizon and 26X optical zoom requirements. Does this project require an IP camera or can the camera be analog with an encoder? Is there a list of compatible cameras and encoders available for the Genetec Omnicast Software? What is the preferred encoder for the relocated cameras? See forthcoming addendum. 2/8/2011 1:39:03 PM Regarding the drop cable, bid reference #47, we find no specifications for this cable. Please provide details as to what fiber is acceptable. Will the drop cable be permitted to be lashed in directly with the traffic signal cable at aerial installations? Since the drops vary in both length and type, can this item be revised as a "Linear Feet", rather than an "Each" pay item? The drop cable shall meet ODOT Supplemental Specifications 804 and 904. As indicated in Supplemental Specification 804, The Department will measure Drop Cable by the number of each, and will include all costs for material, equipment, tools and labor to provide and install the drop cable. The drop cable should be lashed to the existing traffic signal messenger cable, where applicable. 2/8/ :10:12 AM The specifications for the Central Office Monitor (B/R 41) requires a "10/100/1000 Ethernet Switch with 32 10/100/1000 base FX Ports that accept industry standard SC connectors..." (page 9). FX fiber ports are typically 100FX or 1000FX base, not 10/100/1000. Only TX (copper) ports are 10/100/1000. Please confirm the type of ports required and the quantity of 100FX or 1000FX fiber ports needed. see forthcoming addendum. 2/8/ :16:33 AM Item 633 Controller Item, Misc Central Office Control System pre-qualifies TACTICS by Siemens. Item 633 Controller unit Type TS2/A2 specifies that the controller be accessible by a Web Browser. The proposed Siemens TS2 EPAC M50 controller does not support open web access and therefore does not include SSL encryption. The Siemens controllers are accessible securely through the proposed TACTICS Central system. Is the Siemens TS2 Controller acceptable for this project? As long as the controller can be accessed securely through the central software application, and the central software application can be accessed securely through a remote connection (VPN/RDP, browser, remote client application, etc.), then the functional requirement of the specification will be met. The Siemens TS2 Controller is acceptable as long as functionality is provided to remotely monitor and configure the controller through a secure connection (via a remote connection to the central software application or equivalent method). 5 2/7/2011 2:51:20 PM What is the intent of having both bid reference #39 - WALL MOUNT CONNECTION CENTER, and reference #40 - WALL MOUNT SPLICE CENTER? It appears that the quantity should be a maximum - 1 of each. Does bid reference #40 include the fusion splices? Are all 72 fibers to be terminated at the Police Dept.? Regarding the PTZ camera relocation at SR 747 & Kemper - Is the existing camera IP addressable? It is our understanding that this camera as well as the two on SR4 and I-275 SR747 are on the wireless bridge at Kemper & 747. If that is the case, under what pay item does their connection to the fiber system belong? See forthcoming addendum. 2/4/2011 3:12:09 PM Plan sheets 30 and 31 of 88 propose that the new fiber optic cable be installed in an existing conduit along SR 4. Is there a dedicated conduit and pullbox system parallel to the street lighting circuits, or is the intent to use the street lighting conduits? Either way, please provide additional details on the conduit(s) to be used, such as size of conduits, size and spacing of pullboxes, are the conduits and pullboxes empty, or will the fiber be sharing the space? If the streetlighting conduits are being used, most of the pullboxes may not be large enough to allow the installation of the fiber per the specifications. This Conduit in question is an existing 2" conduit that is dedicated to the interconnect. The pull boxes are the standard 18". Do not have information on the spacing of the pullboxes. Some of the pull boxes are empty and some may have wiring in them at the intersection. There should be plenty of room for the fiber in the existing pull boxes. Please specify a size for the wood pole (ref 28). 35' or taller wood poles are required. 2/4/2011 2:33:14 PM 2/4/2011 2:28:03 PM Will railroad liability insurance be required for this project, since the fiber optic cables cross railroad tracks in several locations? Additionally, will railroad flagpersons be required in these areas? If these items will be required, please add items to the proposal. At this time Liabiltiy insurance and flagpersons will not be required. A permit from CSX Rail Road will be required prior to anywork on or over the tracks. Odot will secure this permit, but note the permit may take a few months to finalize. The contractor will be permitted to work on all other areas of the project except that portion that crosses the CSX line until the permit is in hand. 2/2/2011 9:36:25 AM Item 41: Central Office Monitor, The plans require detector data to be archived to DVD. Will archiving detector data and managing detector data from the hard drive be acceptable? The plans require real-time alarms and event data to be printed to a line printer. Will a system that manages alarm and event data with onscreen pop-up alerts and user acknowledgements be acceptable? All alarms and events are stored to the hard drive. 1. Yes 2. Will the specified systems be accepted in their commercially available form, meeting the intent of the written specification? The central office monitor software shall be one of the named software packages and must have the functionality described in the complete specification. Page 4
