Due to the dependency of this potential difference (voltage) on the temperature and the ph-value/ of the medium, this can be determined with the measured parameters. The equipment con sits of a tubular metal enclosure with a plug connector at one end of the enclosure and a glass body as well as a threaded conduit coupling at the other end. The glass body containing the actual sensor unit and the metal housing are conglutinated. This[ sensor unit is composed of a measuring electrode and a reference electrode immersed in the respective Ph7-solution required for the measuring principle as well as a Pt , temperature sensor for determination and compensation of temperature influences. The threaded conduit coupling serves for process connection. The electronic circuitry isl arranged on a PCB. This is mounted into the metal enclosure and potted completely. The ' plug connector serves for power supply of the sensor and for signal analysis using a ima current output with HART-communication. Operation with flammable media beyond the ranges of atmospheric conditions (-20 oc ::s; T ::s; +60 oc and 0.8 bar ::s; P ::s; 1.1 bar) is only permissible if these media do not form explosive medium/air-mixtures. The operating company is responsible for the safe operation of the Redox-Sensor regarding temperatures and pressures of the media used. 2. When the Redox-Sensor is operated with flammable media it shall be included in the recurring pressure test of the system. 3. To avoid electrostatic charging, the metal enclosure shall be connected to the local equipotential bonding system. 4. The digital Redox-Sensor, type SMARTPAT ORP 8150 must not be installed and operated in areas where excessive charge generating processes can occur (e.g. due to friction or oncoming flow with particles). 5. The safety instructions given in the operating instructions manual shall be observed accordingly.
