Components for diagnostic and service units Software for diagnostic and service units (e.g. CANremote, CANmem, CANfox driver) ecolog 100plus software and documentation stored separately Here are the contents of the package: Older software and documentations such us ecolog 100plus are now no longer available on the ecomatmobile DVD. Instead, they were integrated in a separate ecolog 100plus package. The ecolog 100plus package is available as DVD "ecolog.01.00" and can be ordered from the sales specialists. Furthermore, the package is available as ZIP file in the download area (1. General software > ecolog 100plus package).

This entry is generated in the CODESYS 2.3 project with the function block SET_IDENTITY: Da diese Information in einem anderen Bereich als die Applikation abgespeichert ist, wird sie beim Löschen der Applikation nicht mit entfernt. This information can be deleted as follows: CODESYS 2.3 project: Call of the function block SET_IDENTITY with an empty character string (APP_IDENT = '') Maintenance Tool: deletion of the firmware To avoid that old application information may still be available for a new project, you should call the function block SET_IDENTITY in every project. 4 We always try to maintain our devices regarding hardware and software. Our goal is to ensure compatibility of different hardware and software versions. This means that an older firmware, for example, runs on a new device and vice versa. We manage to ensure this in the majority of cases. As mentioned in the last ecomatmobile newsletter 02/2013 of 15 November 2013 we were unfortunately forced early this year to make major hardware changes to the devices of the BasicSystem. We had to integrate a new display module in the BasicDisplay CR0451 (hardware version AD). For the BasicControllers CR0401 (hardware version AC) and CR0403 (hardware version AD) the input circuits for resistance measurement had to be changed. These were major changes so that it was not possible to ensure the upward compatibility of the previous firmware versions. A version, for example, does not run on the existing hardware. However, the new firmware versions are downward compatible, i.e. the current version also runs on a device with the hardware version AA. For the production process the project can be adapted to the new firmware and tested on a new device. You can then load the firmware and application in a resx file to your PC using the Maintenance Tool. In the production you then only need the Maintenance Tool to load the resx file to the controllers. Problem: If a resx file which also contains the firmware is loaded to a device using another hardware revision, you will receive an error message although the firmware is downward compatible. Background: The firmware which is loaded from a controller of the BasicSystem can only be loaded to controllers of the same hardware revision. The firmware in the CODESYS directory can be loaded to any hardware revision which is supported by the firmware. A hardware revision is not the same as a hardware version (e.g. AD). The hardware revision is only changed if major changes are made to the electronics. As from the hardware version AD (CR0451, CR0403) or AC (CR0401) the hardware revision is indicated in the Maintenance Tool when reading the identity. The hardware version is also changed when, for example, changes to the housing are made. In this case the hardware revision remains unchanged, i.e. resx files which also contain the firmware can still be downloaded. For the devices of the BasicSystem the hardware revision has only changed in the following cases: Hardware-Revision I Hardware-Revision II CR0451 AA, AB, AC AD CR0401 AA, AB AC CR0403 AA, AB, AC AD Solution to the problem: In the following steps we will explain how a resx file with the contents application and firmware is generated which can be loaded to any supported hardware revision: Step 1: Create a copy of the firmware files (resx and md5) from the CODESYS directory (C:\\ifm electronic\codesys V2.3\Targets\ifm\Library\ifm_CR04xx). This must be the file which was also loaded to the controller. Step 2: Start the Maintenance Tool and load the application from the controller. As target indicate the copy of the firmware file. After replacement of the element the application for the firmware was added to the resx file. Step 3: The resx file now contains the application and firmware and can be loaded to any device with supported hardware revision.
