3 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November 2008 Admonishments Important safety admonishments are used throughout this manual to warn of possible hazards to persons or equipment. An admonishment identifies a possible hazard and then explains what may happen if the hazard is not avoided. The admonishments in the form of Dangers, Warnings, and Cautions must be followed at all times. These warnings are flagged by use of the triangular alert icon (seen below), and are listed in descending order of severity of injury or damage and likelihood of occurrence. Danger: Danger is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will cause severe personal injury, death, or substantial property damage if the hazard is not avoided. Warning: Warning is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that can cause severe personal injury, death, or substantial property damage if the hazard is not avoided. Caution: Caution is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or can cause minor personal injury or property damage if the hazard is not avoided. General Safety Precautions Warning: To prevent electrical shock, never install Line Conditioner Mounting Enclosure in a wet location or during a lightning storm. When installing or modifying telephone lines, disconnect lines at the network interface before working with uninsulated lines or terminals. Caution: To prevent possible damage to a Line Conditioner, do not reverse tip and ring to the mounting enclosure. Do not apply power until all connections are made. Caution: Electronic modules can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To prevent this, take the following precautions: Wear an anti-static-discharge wrist strap while handling modules. Place modules in anti-static packing material when transporting or storing them. Place modules on an approved, electrically grounded, anti-static mat when working on them. Warning: Before making any connections to the enclosure, verify that the power is off (fuse is removed at the fuse and alarm panel) and that the line card is removed from the enclosure. Do not install the line card until after the enclosure wiring is completed. THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF PHYLOGY, INC. 4 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc. 1.0 DESCRIPTION The Phylogy TripleStream Cabinets and Enclosures provide a protective enclosure for mounting TripleStream Line Conditioner line cards in the outside plant. Cabinets are ideal for use in populated areas where a high density of line cards is required. Enclosures are ideal for use where smaller numbers of line conditioners are required. Applications include but are not limited to pole-mount, near existing pedestals, replacing existing pedestals, near existing cross boxes, attached to existing cross boxes, and wall-mount. Planners should determine ideal installation location by reading and following Phylogy TripleStream engineering practice. In general, the ideal installation location is at a splice point at or near the copper loop s resistance middle. Each polycarbonate enclosure consists of a gray enclosure with hinged lockable cover, a black metal inner card cage, a backplane to accept plug-in of TripleStream Line Conditioner line cards, and a set of pre-connectorized cables which allow splicing into the telco cable. 9 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November Mounted on Side of Cabinet 1. The enclosure is always mounted with cables exiting the bottom of enclosure. For the 5- slot and 10-slot enclosures, the door hinges are always on the left. 2. Select a mounting location for the enclosure that allows access to wiring and grounding through the cable fittings on the bottom of the enclosure. 3. Examine the existing bolts near the top of the cabinet. There should be two bolts on each side of the cabinet, one used to connect lifting straps for initial cabinet placement (A) and one used to secure the mounting frames installed in the cabinet (B). 4. Remove the bolt used to connect lifting straps to the cabinet that is located on the side of the cabinet where you are installing the TLC enclosure using a socket and ratchet or other suitable tool. Set the nut and any washers removed from this bolt aside for later use. This bolt hole will be used to mount the TLC enclosure to the cabinet. 5. Place the large washer (included in the TLC mounting kit) over the bolt and place the bolt through the upper mounting hole on the TLC mounting bracket. Place the TLC enclosure against the side of the cabinet so that the bolt is inserted through the hole it was removed from. Place the locking washer included in the TLC mounting kit over the bolt, place the nut previously removed from the bolt onto the bolt and tighten with you fingers. 6. Straighten the enclosure so that it rests square and level against the side of the cabinet. Examine the location of the lower mounting holes on the TLC mounting bracket. If any of the mounting holes align with an existing bolt, mark the bolt. If none of the lower mounting holes are aligned with an existing bolt then chose a mounting hole and mark its location using a permanent marker. 7. Remove the nut and lock washer from the bolt in the upper mounting hole. Remove the TLC enclosure from the side of the cabinet and set it aside. 8. If you marked a bolt in step 6, then remove the nut and any washers from that bolt, setting them aside for future use and remove the bolt from the hole. 9. If bolts did not align with lower mounting holes in step 6, drill a hole at the location you marked on the side of the cabinet. Use a drill equipped with a ¼ drill bit. 10. Retrieve the TLC enclosure, place the large washer included in the TLC mounting kit over the bolt and place the bolt through the upper mounting hole on the TLC mounting bracket. Place the TLC enclosure against the side of the cabinet so that the bolt is inserted through the hole it was removed from. Place the locking washer included in the TLC mounting kit over the bolt, place the nut previously removed from the bolt onto the bolt and tighten with your fingers. 10 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc. 11. Align the TLC enclosure so the hole in the lower mounting bracket is aligned with the hole in step 8 or drilled in step 9. Place the large washer included in the TLC mounting kit over the bolt you removed from the cabinet or the large machine bolt included in the TLC mounting kit. Place the bolt, with the washer in place, through the selected mounting hole on the TLC mounting bracket so that the bolt extends into the cabinet. Place the locking washer included in the TLC mounting kit over the end of the bolt and then thread the nut onto the bolt with your fingers until it is tight. 12. Check to ensure that the TLC enclosure is square and level against the cabinet. Using a ratchet and socket or similar tools, tighten the top and bottom mounting bolts. 13. Place the enclosure in the mounting location. Mark the mounting hole locations according the mounting holes at the top and bottom of the mounting bracket. Figure X shows the mounting hole locations. 14. Run the cables and green ground wire from the enclosure into the cabinet using the cable entry grommets located on the cabinet. If no cable entry grommets exist, consult your local practice for appropriate cable routing and cabinet entry procedures. 15. Once the cables have been brought into the cabinet, terminate the green ground wire on the grounding bar located at the bottom of the cabinet. 16. Splice cables per installation practice. 11 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November Mounted in a Pedestal Next to Pole 1. There are two standard mounting options for placing a 12 inch (30 cm) pedestal at the base of a pole. a) A pedestal can be attached directly to the base of a wooden pole. Dig a hole 4 inches deep and approximately 14 inches in diameter at the base of the pole. Place the pedestal base so mounting holes are below ground level. Leave space below the base to allow for routing of cables out the bottom and up the pole through the U-guard. Place the angle bracket between the pedestal base and pole to allow the pedestal outer dome to be installed on top of base. Attach the pedestal base to the pole base with lag screws. b) A pedestal can be mounted adjacent to a pole, using the stake included with pedestal. Dig a hole near base of pole, 14 inches in diameter, 4 inch deep, place the stake approximately 6 inches from the base of the pole. Using a hammer or mallet, drive the stake into bottom of hole until 4 inches of the stake remain above ground level. Attach base to stake. c) Splice cables per installation practice. Next to existing distribution cabinet 1. Place pedestal close to duct openings to limit digging and stay within cabinet right-ofway. 2. Dig a pit next to the cabinet s pad to expose cable duct which leads to the cabinet s splice chamber. 3. Prepare site for pedestal by digging a hole at least 14 inches in diameter, 4 inches deep. 4. Using a hammer or mallet, drive the pedestal mounting stake approximately 1 from the back of the hole, being careful not to damage any buried cables that may exist in the area. The stake is installed to the proper depth when 4 inches of the stake remain above the final grade of the installation location. 5. If local practice requires the placement of a ground rod, then select a location that will be inside the base of the pedestal. Using a hammer or mallet drive a ground rod, once again making sure not to damage any existing buried cables. Attach a grounding clamp to the ground rod and install a piece of #6 solid ground wire into the clamp. This ground wire will be attached to the ground bar located in the base of the TLC pedestal after the pedestal base is attached to the mounting stake. 6. Uncoil the cable stubs located in the base of the TLC pedestal and stretch them out to ensure they are long enough to reach from the selected location to the splicing chamber of the distribution cabinet. 7. Attach the base of the TLC pedestal to the mounting stake using the bolts provided in the kit. THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF PHYLOGY, INC. AND SHALL NOT BE Page 11 of 24 REPRODUCED, COPIED, OR USED IN ANY MANNER DETRIMENTAL TO THEIR INTERESTS.
12 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc. 8. If necessary, hand dig a short trench from the location of the TLC pedestal to the previously excavated pit next the pad of the distribution cabinet. Place the TLC cable stubs into the trench and backfill the trench. 9. Select a duct and run the TLC cable stubs through the duct and into the splicing chamber of the distribution cabinet. 10. Splice the TLC cable stubs onto a vacant x-connect field using the process contained in Section 2.3 of this document. 11. If there is an existing pedestal next to the cabinet which is suitable for installation of the line conditioner enclosure, remove the old pedestal and attach new pedestal to the existing stake. Follow the next procedure. 12. Splice cables per installation practice. Replacing an existing pedestal 1. Choose an existing pedestal where the cable pairs to be conditioned are accessible. 2. Open the pedestal and disconnect the cable bonds and ground wire from the ground bar in the pedestal. 3. Dig a hole 4 inches deep and 14 inches in diameter around the base of the existing pedestal. If the existing pedestal is mounted to a stake, this hole should expose the base of the existing pedestal and allow access to the mounting bolts that secure the existing pedestal to the stake. 4. Remove the bolts that secure the pedestal base to the stake, lift the pedestal base over the top of the cables and set the pedestal base aside. Go directly to step 7. Steps 5 and 6 are only used if the existing pedestal is equipped with an integral stake base. 5. If the existing pedestal has an integral stake base, then dig a hole of sufficient depth to allow the base to be removed, remove the pedestal base and set it aside. Backfill the hole until the hole is 4 inches below the existing grade. 6. Using a hammer or mallet drive a mounting stake approximately 1 inch from the back of the hole, making sure you do not damage the buried cables in the process. The stake is at proper depth when 4 of stake remain above the top of the hole, leaving a total of 8 inches of exposed stake. 7. Using the bolts and washer provided in the kit, attach the base of the TLC p edestal to the mounting stake. 8. Attach the existing cable bonds and ground to the grounding bar located in the TLC pedestal. 9. Splice the TLC enclosure stubs to the selected cable pairs using the process identified in section 2.2, Splice Process For The 5-Slot Enclosure 10. Once the cable stubs have been spliced, connectivity has been verified, and the TripleStream Line Conditioner Cards have been installed, place the dome of the pedestal over the base and secure it using the locking bolts which are attached to the Pedestal base. 13 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November Splice Process for the 5-Slot Enclosure The 5-slot TripleStream Line Conditioner enclosure comes equipped with three cable stubs which are pre-connected to the enclosure backplane. The cable stubs come in 5 or 10 meter lengths as per customer specification. The 5 meter length is suitable for use in all ground- or cabinetmounted applications, whereas the 10 meter length is suitable for pole-mounted applications where the stubs need to reach an aerial splice. The cable stubs are labeled pairs 1-10, 11-15, and Pairs 1-10 are used to connect the enclosure to the Central Office ( CO ) or In feeds. Pairs are used for express or local powering of the line conditioners. If line powering is used, Pairs are not used and should be capped. Pairs are used to connect the enclosure to the distribution or Customer Premises Equipment ( CPE ) or Out side of the loop. The 5-slot TripleStream Line Conditioner enclosure can be used to condition up to 10 subscriber lines, when equipped with Phylogy s 2-line TripleStream Line Conditioners. Each pair in the cable stub should be permanently spliced, using locally approved splicing techniques, to a qualified cable pair. Cable pair qualifications are dependent on the type of line conditioner used. See the TripleStream Engineering Practice (Phylogy document # EP00001-xx) for engineering guidelines to assist in product selection. THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF PHYLOGY, INC. 14 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc. Optimal line conditioner performance is dependent on proper placement of the line conditioner in the Outside Plant. In other words, proper placement means the line conditioner must be placed at the appropriate distance from CO and CPE according to the engineering practice. Engineering must provide the splicing technician with the expected wire gauge, resistance, and open length for each pair that is to be spliced to the enclosure. The splicing technician must measure the resistance and open length of each pair to ensure that the actual placement of the line conditioner is consistent with the engineer s intent. Note: If the field measurements for the assigned pair are not consistent with the expected values for the cable pair, the engineer should be contacted. It is important that a placement location is appropriate for the installation of the TripleStream line conditioner enclosure. The tables located on the following page will provide a convenient place for you to record both the engineering expectations and your field measurements. The splicing procedure for the TripleStream 5-Slot Enclosure is simple: 1. Determine the slot and line assignment for each assigned pair and enter the cable, pair and colors for the assigned pair on the appropriate line in Table 2 2. For each assigned pair on Table 2, record the expected resistance and open length measures from the CO to the TLC and the TLC to the CPE onto the appropriate line in Table Isolate each assigned pair at the splice location. 4. Starting with the first pair, cut the pair and using an appropriate telecommunications test set, measure the resistance and open length of the pair from the CO to the TLC location and from the TLC to the CPE location, record these measurements on the appropriate lines in Table If the actual measurements for the assigned pair are significantly different from the expected resistance and open length values for the pair, call the local engineer responsible for the placement of the TripleStream 5-slot Enclosure. Verify that splicing and placement of the Enclosure should proceed at that location. 6. If the actual resistance and open length measurements are consistent with the expected values for the pair, or if the actual values are different but the engineer gives approval to proceed, use locally approved splicing methods to permanently splice the assigned pair to the Enclosure. Splice the CO or in side of the pair to the appropriate colored pair of wires in the stub labeled Cable Table 2 provides a quick reference for the appropriate colors for each slot and line in the Enclosure. 7. Splice the CPE or out side of the pair appropriate colored pair of wires in the stub labeled Cable 16-25, the cable stubs were designed so that the CO and CPE pairs for each slot and line would be the same color in each stub. 8. For example, to splice an assigned pair to Slot 1 line 1 you would splice the CO side of the pair to the blue-white pair in the stub labeled Cable 1-10 and the CPE or out side of the assigned pair to the Blue-white pair in the stub labeled Cable The photographs on page 17 illustrate the splicing procedure when modular splicing techniques are used. 9. Repeat steps 3-8 until all of the assigned pairs have been spliced to the enclosure. 10. If all of the TripleStream Line Conditioners that are going to be installed in the TripleStream 5-slot Enclosure are line powered (power on the same pair as POTS and DSL signal), you may skip directly to step 19. 15 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November If any of the TripleStream line conditioners that are going to be placed into the TripleStream 5-Slot Enclosure are Express Powered (remote power source requiring a separate power pair), determine the slot assignment for each assigned power pair and enter the cable, pair and colors for the assigned pair on the appropriate line in Table For each assigned power pair on Table 3, record the expected resistance and open length measurements from the CO to the TLC on the appropriate line in Table Isolate each assigned power pair at the splice location. 14. Starting with the first pair, cut the pair. Using an appropriate telecommunications test set, measure the resistance and open length of the pair from the CO to the TLC location record these measurements on the appropriate lines in Table If the actual measurements for the assigned pair are significantly different from the expected resistance and open length values for the pair, call the local engineer responsible for the placement of the TripleStream 5-slot Enclosure and verify that splicing and placement of the Enclosure should proceed at that location. 16. If the Actual resistance and open length measurements are consistent with the expected values for the pair, or if the actual values are different but the engineer gives approval to proceed, use locally approved splicing methods to permanently splice the assigned pair to the Enclosure. Splice the CO or in side of the pair to the appropriate colored pair of wires in the stub labeled Cable 11-15, Table 3 provides a quick reference for the appropriate colors for each slot and line in the Enclosure. 17. The CPE or out side of the power pair is not used. Consult local practice for proper handling of these conductors. The photographs of page 17 illustrate the splicing procedure when modular splicing techniques are used. 18. Repeat steps until all of the assigned power pairs have been spliced to the TripleStream 5-Slot Enclosure. 19. Once all of the assigned pairs and power pairs have been spliced to the TripleStream 5- slot Enclosure proceed to for guidance on splicing verification and continuity testing. 18 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc Continuity Testing Two methods can be used to verify splicing accuracy and pair continuity for TripleStream enclosures: The cut-through card provides a connection through the TripleStream enclosure without placing any electronics or additional resistance on the pair. With the cut-through card in place, consider the loop as being intact, and signals will pass as normal. The TLC test card provides access, via banana jacks, to the tip and ring (A and B) side of each cable pair spliced to the TripleStream enclosure into which the card is plugged. With the TLC test card in place, consider the loop as divided at the enclosure. Tests can be made of the loop segment on the CO side of the enclosure, and separately of the loop segment on the CPE side of the enclosure. Both methods require the placement of a card in the slot of the TripleStream enclosure being tested, either the cut-through card or the TLC test card. Page 18 of 24 Copyright 2008 Phylogy, Inc.
19 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November Continuity testing and splicing verification with the cut-through card: a. Place a cut-through card in the slot(s) to be tested. This should complete the loop from the CO, through the TripleStream enclosure, to the CPE. b. Close the TripleStream enclosure and secure the work site. c. Go to the nearest access point located between the TripleStream enclosure and the CPE location where the pairs spliced into the TripleStream enclosure appear. d. Identify the pairs that have been spliced to the TripleStream enclosure and which are connected to a cut-through card. e. Starting with the pair that is assigned to slot 1 line 1 of the TripleStream enclosure, attach a telecommunications test set that will allow you to see a short on the pair. f. Arrange for a technician located at the Central Office to place a short on the pair being tested. If you are able to see the short being placed on and then removed from the pair, you have verified that the pair has continuity through the TripleStream enclosure. g. If you are not able to see the short being placed on and then removed from the pair, then you do not have continuity through the TripleStream enclosure. Return to the installation site and verify that the pair was properly spliced. If the problem is not immediately apparent, then follow local procedure for sectionalizing and identifying cable trouble. h. Repeat steps e) through g) for each pair that has been spliced to the TripleStream 5-slot enclosure. 2. Process for continuity testing and splicing verification with the TLC test card: a. Place the TLC test card into the slot to be tested. b. Connect a telecommunication test set capable of performing DC measurements to the banana jacks labeled CO tip and CO ring. c. Arrange for a technician located at the Central Office to place a short on the pair being tested. If you are able to see the short being placed on and then removed from the pair, you have verified that the pair has continuity from the CO through the TripleStream enclosure. d. If you are not able to see the short being placed on the pair and removed from the pair, check your splice to ensure the pairs were spliced properly. If there is no apparent problem with the splice, follow local procedure for sectionalizing and identifying cable trouble. e. Move the leads from the banana jacks labeled CO tip and ring to the banana jacks labeled CPE tip and ring. f. Arrange for a technician to go either to the CPE location or to the nearest access point located between the TripleStream enclosure and the CPE location which contains an appearance of the pairs to be tested. g. Have the technician place a short on the pair being tested. If you are able to see the short being placed on and then removed from the pair, you have verified pair continuity between the TripleStream enclosure and the CPE side of the pair. If you are not able to see the short being placed on the pair and removed from the pair, check your splice to ensure that the pairs were spliced properly. If there is no apparent problem with the splice, follow local procedure for sectionalizing and identifying cable trouble. i. If the line conditioner to be installed in the slot is express powered (local or remote power source), move your test leads from the banana jacks labeled CPE tip and ring to the banana jacks labeled Power tip and ring. j. Arrange for a technician located at the Central Office to place a short on the power pair being tested. If you are able to see the short being placed on the pair and removed from the pair, you have verified pair continuity from the CO through the TripleStream enclosure. k. If you are not able to see the short being placed on and then removed from the pair, check your splice to ensure that pairs were spliced properly. If there is no apparent problem with the splice, follow local procedure for sectionalizing and identifying cable trouble. l. To verify correct polarity of the power pair, remove the test set lead which is connected to the Power pair tip ( PP1-T ) jack on the TLC test card and connect that lead to a ground source. Have the technician located in the CO make a connection between the ring side of the power pair being tested and a ground source. If you see the ground being placed and removed from the pair being tested, you have verified correct polarity of the power pair. m. If you do not see the ground, take the lead that you have plugged into the Power ring jack ( PP1-R ) and plug it into the power tip ( PP1-T ) jack. If you see the ground on this jack then the polarity of the power pair is reversed. Re-splice the power pair to correct this reversal. n. Repeat steps a) through m) for each slot that has been spliced. Page 20 of 24 Copyright 2008 Phylogy, Inc.
21 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November Line Conditioner Card Installation Installation of TripleStream Line Conditioner Cards into the TripleStream enclosure is quick and easy. Each TripleStream line card is equipped with an edge connector for connection into the enclosure s backplane. The slots in the TripleStream 5-slot enclosure are numbered from 1 to 5 and from left to right. This means that slot 1 is the left-most slot in the card cage. The TripleStream line cards are inserted into the enclosure so that the components on the surface of each card face to the right. The slots in the TripleStream 10-slot enclosure are numbered from 1 to 10 (bottom to top). Slot 1 is the bottom-most slot in the card cage. The TripleStream line cards are inserted into the enclosure with the components on the surface of each card face up. THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF PHYLOGY, INC. AND SHALL NOT BE Page 21 of 24 REPRODUCED, COPIED, OR USED IN ANY MANNER DETRIMENTAL TO THEIR INTERESTS.
22 IP0002 Issue AD July 2009 Enclosure Installation Phylogy, Inc. Follow these steps to install the TripleStream Line Conditioner cards into the TripleStream 5-slot enclosure: Steps Warning: TripleStream line cards can be 4, 5, 6 damaged due to voltage overstress. Never handle the cards outside of their static protective bags unless you are wearing a ground strap that is connected to a known ground source. 1. Put on a wrist strap and connect it to a known ground source. 2. Remove the TripleStream Line Conditioner card from its protective bag. Step 7 3. Verify the TripleStream Line Conditioner card to be installed is the type of card that was specified for your specific application. 4. Grasping the TripleStream Line Conditioner card by the edges, turn it so the components on the surface of the card face to the right. (Note: in a TripleStream 10-slot enclosure, the components should face up for the horizontal slots) Step 8 5. Align the card so that the edges of the card slide into the card guide for the slot you are inserting the card into. 6. Slide the card into the card guides until it rests against the connector located at the back of the card cage. 7. Place your thumbs against the edge of the card facing you. Press the card into the connector so that the card is firmly seated into the backplane socket. Step Repeat these steps until all required TripleStream Line Conditioner cards are installed in the TripleStream enclosure. 9. Place the black card cage cover back on the card cage. Attach the card cage cover with the four (4) screws provided with the enclosure. 10. Place (3) three fresh desiccant bags and a humidity indicator card provided with the TripleStream enclosure into the enclosure. 11. Close and latch the cover of the TripleStream 5-slot enclosure. Lock with padlock (not supplied) if desired. Page 22 of 24 Copyright 2008 Phylogy, Inc.
23 Phylogy, Inc. Enclosure Installation IP0002 Issue AC November 2008 Express Powering Addendum Addendum Installation Of Un-terminated Express Powered Line Conditioner This procedure is to be used whenever a Phylogy Express Powered Line Conditioner is installed and powered in an un-terminated loop application. This typically occurs in pre-service installations where the line conditioner(s) are installed and powered prior to the cable and pair terminations being assigned. It is required that both the incoming and outgoing line conditioner loop interfaces always be terminated when an Express Powered Line Conditioner is installed. WARNING! Installing an un-terminated Express Powered Line Conditioner (neither Loop A, incoming from the DSLAM nor Loop B, outgoing to the CPE is cross-connected to the enclosure stub cable) while power is applied to the enclosure will cause the board to continuously try and synchronize to spurious signals (open antenna effect). Uncorrected this condition can destabilize and degrade adjacent ADSL services within the effected cables. Procedure Step #1: Follow local procedures and best practices to mount and install line conditioner enclosure into a suitable relay rack, on a pole, in a cabinet, in a manhole or any other acceptable access point designated for the installation. Step #2: Wire each of the In and Out cable stubs from the enclosure(s) to their designated cross connect points. Step #3: Short the A (Tip) and B (Ring) leads at the cross connect back to the line conditioner for each of the slots not to be terminated to an ADSL service at this time. No DSLAM or CPE connections will be made to this card. Example #1 - Line Conditioners 1 & 2 are not terminated (reserved for future use) LineConditioners 3, 4, & 5 are terminated and are in service THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF PHYLOGY, INC.
