6 Deltek- Market Insights Defense-wide Army Navy Air Force Other Agency Insights Look for applications being put into milcloud now to be the first candidates for commercial hosting. DISA has stated that its milcloud solution is intended to be a waystation for migrating applications to commercial hosts once a sufficient number of cloud vendors has been approved to host higher IL data milcloud 2.0 pre-rfp. Slow progress consolidating data centers should provide opportunity for cloud service providers as Defense Agencies turn to secure commercial clouds to reduce their infrastructure costs. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs are moving to DISA s milcloud, with the possibility that they will later migrate to commercial hosts. GSA has partnered with DISA to launch a new cloud computing contract to replace an expired IaaS vehicle so it will fit the needs of the DoD- RFP by end of FY16. Army is piloting an on-prem Contractor-Owned, Contractor- Operated (COCO) cloud at Huntsville, AL that could lead to similar efforts. Vendor solutions will also be used for common applications based on business case analysis. Army intends to move all of its business systems to the commercial cloud by FY Army favors bundling apps by data impact level and migrate them together to the cloud, while conducting rationalization along the way. Army intends to centralize cloud procurement into a new Army Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation (ACCENT) Contract Vehicle. Navy appears likely to leverage the NGEN contract as well as standalone procurements for cloud. Other confirmed work areas include cloud-based big data analytics and cloud-enabling intel data dissemination. Data Center Consolidation- Navy intends to make cloud hosting a major part of its final phase consolidation efforts. The Air Force plans to use commercial hosting for data and applications at impact level 2. It also wants impact level 4 and 5 vendors, but is struggling because so few have been approved Air Force is also using private clouds to host applications, for IT development, and for testing environments. Air Force Global Combat Support System (GCSS) is piloting a hybrid cloud. DHA will look to the cloud for solutions for its healthcare systems. Hosting data in the milcloud could be the first step, after which commercial providers could be tapped DHS will continue to prefer private cloud models for its security. Ongoing efforts to consolidate infrastructure and improve mobility capabilities, data management and shared services will find homes in cloud solutions, which may be bundled with integration services and legacy support. Treasury is in the process of deploying a secure, private cloud infrastructure for the hosting of key shared services. Due to its mission, Treasury has determined that it is more secure and cost-effective to build out a secure private cloud. 6
