5 EPA Data Center Report in Congress Aug 2, 2007 Datacenters consumed 1.5% of Nation s energy cost in Billion Kilowatt-Hours Federal servers and data centers alone, consumed 10% of 61B KW-Hr; $450M annual operating cost If left unchecked, the agency warns consumption threatens to cost the public and private sector $7.4 billion in annual electricity costs by 2011.
