2 ABOUT THE EVENT The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), as part of European policy to stimulate energy efficiency in housing, offers vast energy saving potential. However, presently the awareness amongst actors in the housing sector, in particular regarding the possibilities of the EPBD and energy certificates for houses, is still too low. More specifically, house owners private persons, homeowners associations or housing associations don t have sufficient knowledge or tools to use the energy certificates. IMPLEMENT aims to avoid this problem via information and sales campaigns in 7 EU Member States, whereby homeowners and professionals are informed about home energy certificates. The European Workshop will reflect on the outcomes of the project and the national campaigns. Participants will learn more about Energy efficiency in buildings and about Communication and Information. TARGET GROUP The target group includes politicians and policy-makers, representatives of the housing industry, housing associations and other multipliers and professionals. 4 Estonian Conference Energy Efficiency in the building sector experience and trends in Estonia and neighboring countries Tallinn, Estonia, October, 23 rd ABOUT THE EVENT The upcoming Conference Energy Efficiency in building sector experience and trends in Estonia and neighbouring countries is about policies, programmes and financial instruments to promote energy efficiency building refurbishments. The Conference will last one day and divide into three sessions: The policy and trends (EU, Estonia) of the energy efficiency in building sector Estonian housing sector quality of existing housing stock and ways to improve energy efficiency in apartment buildings. Good examples from IMPLEMENT project - how to improve/rise awareness among the inhabitants TARGET GROUP The target group of the Conference will be multipliers with insight into the issue of the EPBD and relating issues like energy saving measures and energy efficiency of buildings: politicians and regional policy-makers, representatives of the housing industry, housing associations, architects etc. CONFERENCE LANGUAGES English, Estonian.
