Soft Matter - a viable data storage medium where microscopic particles suspended in liquid could be used to encode the same etc., that are stored on solid hard drive platters today. Clusters of these particles could one day be used to store up to 1TB of data in one tablespoon of liquid hard drive.

39 Proximate AR Proximate AR knows rough location, but lacks the sensors to accurately map a physical space in 3D, so nearby objects may jump around, but can still exist in an approximate location. Sufficient for many kinds of tasks and is cheap and easy to implement into everyday devices such as smartphones and tablets. Pokémon Go is the most widespread touchpoint for proximate AR (but primitive)

40 Precise AR Precise AR involves sensors that can accurately map a 3D environment and seamlessly integrate virtual objects into that physical space: gives them a sense of permanence, existing and behaving as if they were real. If you place a virtual coffee cup on a physical table, it will rest exactly on top of the table, not partially inside the table, not floating above it. Precise AR is what s necessary for the AR multiverse to fully realise its potential.

41 Precise AR The Microsoft HoloLens headset was released as a developer kit in March 2016 and is the standard bearer for precise AR although it is still not yet marketed to the general public.

42 Can robots escort passengers to the gate, and can chatbots really support customer service? Maybe... but there s a more immediate opportunity. As travel technology becomes more intelligent, it creates a digital layer that both simplifies access to, and measurement of, data.
