2 Is the backup proposal a replacement of the Tivoli Backup software to a new software which may or may not be Tivoli? The way it reads in the RFP, they are just looking for bids on Tivoli. Is that right? The backup solution must use Tivoli. In the bid, outside of total capacities, there is no information as to what are VMs and what are physical servers. In order to understand the environment more, we would like to know: 1. How many VMware host servers are there to be backed up? 2. How many Cpu sockets are in those host servers? How many VMs are there to be backed up? Are SQL databased on physical or virtual servers? Both a. If both, can you please give us a break out of qty s of each? 12 physical, 9 virtual b. Are they in availability groups or standalone? standalone c. How much data is there on SQL servers that needs backed up? 2 TB 5. Are Exchange servers physical or virtual? physical 6. How much Exchange data needs backed up? 6 TB 7. Do you want daily mailbox backups of exchange? Or would the database backup be acceptable (and then mined for message level recovery)? Database backup is acceptable. 8. On the previous bid, there was 15OTB of unstructured data that needed to be protected, but that is not listed on this proposal. Is that no longer a requirement? It is no onger a requirement 9. You mention backup for File s. a. How many file servers? 6 b. how many of those are virtual and how many are physical? 2 physical, 4 virtual c. What are the capacities of each? 3 TB, 2 TB, 1 TB, 4 TB, 1 TB, 3 TB 10. You mention backups of Application servers. a. What types of applications are these? Various applications running on Microsoft OS b. Are these physical or virtual? Both How many of each? 16 physical, 43 virtual c. What are the capacities of these? TB 11. Would you be open to a cloud solution for the offsite copy instead of tape? Not at this time 12. Do you have any iscsi attached volumes or RMDs connected inside of your virtual machines? 3 Will Tulsa County accept a proposal of backup software to be used with the County VM environment using separate storage? This would be instead of an appliance based approach. If that is acceptable, we would need to know the following: # of VM s # of CPU sockets being used on those hosts # of standalone physical servers The software must be IBM TSM (Tivoli) and the solution must provide storage. # of VM s 13 # of CPU sockets being used on those hosts 30 # of standalone physical servers 38 Under the Insta ation sec ion, p ease clarify the requirement/expectation labeled Migrate current Tivoli backups to new solution Tulsa County requires a wholesale data migration into the new Tivoli solution. IBM TSM (Tivoli) is specified as the backup software to be used. Specifically, we want to understand whether this refers to modifying protected systems such that all new backups go through the new solution, or if it refers to the wholesale data migration of all information protected by Tivoli to the new solution Please confirm that the space figure of 8OTB in the Requirements section is referring solely to the existing storage solution, and as such, is not the expected sizing of the backup solution being proposed 80 TB useable is to be the size of the new disk array to be proposed. If the 8OTB figure is in fact the desired capacity of the new backup solution, please respond accordingly Regarding the multi-site redundant server capability requirement: Does all backed-up data need to be stored at the minimum of three (3) sites in this solution? The data must be stored at two (2) sites initially - the disk array and the tape library. The solution must be capable of adding a third (cloud) site for future expansion. If so, does the Storage requirement of 8OTB speak to an aggregate size across all 3 sites, or does Tulsa County expect 8OTB of backup storage available at all three sites? 80 TB is not aggregate. The disk array must be 80 TB minimum and the tape library must have a minimum of 48 tape slots utilizing LTO6 tapes.

4 Is this capability expected to be delivered upon RFP acceptance, or is it referencing a separate future initiative? The third site will not be implemented at this time, however Tulsa County may consider adding a third site in the future. The solution must be capable of adding a third site without additional software being required. What are the backup and/or retention policy requirements specified by the Tulsa County entities whose data will be protected by this service? The solution must be capable of defining retention policies by: the number of iterations of the data (both active and deleted) the length of time that deleted data will remain in the backups the data may need to be retained in the backups indefinitely the frequency of backups Alternately, what are the backup and/or retention policy definitions to which Tulsa County IT has committed to provide each entity protected by the current backup and restoral solution? Is Tulsa County able and willing to change, on either a temporary or permanent basis, their backup and/or retention policies as needed to accommodate products other than Tivoli? No If not, please provide a report, redacted if/as necessary, showing the contents of the Tivoli database related to file sizes, counts, and versions to be migrated The server software is TSM ver Number of domains: 3 Number of nodes: 75 Number of files: Logical storage: TB
