6 FIRST THINGS FIRST Academic Get your arrival documents signed either today at the Orientation or during the office hours for international students at the Internationalisation Services Participate in your Faculty s System of Study session Check your Learning Agreement with International Coordinators or Tutor Teachers Faculties Learning Agreement Workshops coming up Register for courses in WebOodi with your Tutor Trust us We ve done this before.

7 STUDY CERTIFICATE AND ARRIVAL FORMS Study certificate contains your student number period of your studies Will be handed out today We ll divide you to groups by faculty for quicker service. Latecomers may pick it up at the Internationalisation Services during the office hours for international students. Please bring your ID card and a certificate of health insurance / European Health Insurance card with you Arrival forms can be signed by all from the international team

8 ULAPLAND USER ACCOUNT Latecomers can pick up your username and password from the intl. office. IT-services available by phone , Remember to have an ID with photo with you (e.g. passport or driver s license) Remember to check your ULapland account daily! The university will be using your ULapland address, not your Gmail, Hotmail, etc.

9 STAY INFORMED: INTERNATIONAL MAILING LIST Registered exchange students => automatically added to the list Degree students and late registered exchange students send an to from your ULapland address saying that you want to join the list and you will be added If you have any problems, please contact the Internationalisation Services by e- mail: ACADEMIC: Internationalisation Services, courses in English, course schedules and changes, visiting lecturers, etc. LEISURE: Student Union, ESN Lapland, Student associations, University Sports, happenings in Rovaniemi, parties, etc.. 11 STUDENT DISCOUNT FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN ROVANIEMI For Ulapland exchange and degree students 30 day bus pass ( Taajamalippu ) with unilimited travel within a certain zone Have your Study Certificate and passport with you when purchasing the ticket for the first time Can be bought from Matkahuolto at Bus Station or Osviitta at the City Hall Student discounts are available in many places, more information will be given later today

12 GOOD TO REMEMBER Remember to use lights when bicycling whenever it is dark: it is ruled by law and you will get a ticket if you have no lights on your bicycle. Wear a helmet Use a reflector! Make sure to dress according to the weather warm, waterproof clothing and protect your head, hands and feet Layers

14 GENERAL EMERGENCY NUMBER 112 A good rule to remember is that you dial 112 in urgent, genuine cases of emergency when someone s life, health, property or the environment is threatened or in danger, or if you have cause to assume this to be the case. No area code is necessary for this number, even when using a mobile phone. An emergency call can be made free of charge from any phone.
