Subsequent to the completion of the first Market Rehearsal on 20 October 2012, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will conduct the second round of Market Rehearsal (MR) on 3 November Subject to the results of MR, HKEx plans to launch the DCASS Application Upgrade (Upgrade) on Monday, 12 November The detail of the (1) Rollout Schedule, (2) Stabilization Period and (3) MR are set forth below: (1) Rollout Schedule Dates 10 November 2012, Saturday Activities Cutover from the original DCASS application (115B30) to the new DCASS application (120B35) 11 November 2012, Sunday Perform DCASS Client Terminal / OAPI connectivity test 12 November 2012, Monday Rollout the new DCASS application (120B35) 12 November 2012, Monday to 23 November 2012, Friday Stabilization Period Clearing Participants are required to provide the contact details of their responsible officials for all matters relating to the Upgrade by completing and returning to HKEx the Contact Details Form for the Launch of DCASS Application Upgrade as set forth in Appendix I on or before 2 November 香港中環港景街一號國際金融中心一期 1 2 樓 12/F, One International Finance Centre, 1 Harbour View Street, Central, Hong Kong 電話 Tel: 傳真 Fax: 網址 Website: 電郵 info@hkex.com.hk

2 To prepare for the Upgrade, Clearing Participants are required to follow the below guidelines: A. Preparation for the Cutover Day (9 November 2012, Friday) By day end, Clearing Participants should ensure that: i) The DCASS Server is powered on; ii) All windows accounts at DCASS Server are logged out; and iii) The dcassadmin account on DCASS Server is active. B. Cutover Day (10 November 2012, Saturday) On cutover day, HKEx will switch the original DCASS application (115B30) to the new DCASS application (120B35). There will be a new directory for downloading of DCASS reports (C:\program files\omx191\120\secur Back Office\Reports\23\). DCASS reports in the existing folder (C:\program files\omx191\115\secur Back Office\Reports\22\) will remain unchanged. In addition, Clearing Participants are required to put into production their enhanced internal systems, where applicable. For those Clearing Participants with DCASS OAPI programs, they are required to switch their existing programs to the ones which have been re-compiled with the new header file and recertified by HKEx (new DCASS OAPI programs). C. Connectivity Test (11 November 2012, Sunday) In order to assure Clearing Participants readiness for the Upgrade, connectivity test can be performed between 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on 11 November Clearing Participants who plan to participate in the connectivity test should register by completing the Registration Form for DCASS Client Terminal / OAPI Connectivity Test as set forth in Appendix II and return to HKEx on or before 2 November Clearing Participants are highly recommended to perform the DCASS Client Terminal connectivity test using the new DCASS application (120B35) and follow the below procedures: i) An error message The NASDAQ SECUR BO Server is not connected to OMnet will be displayed at their DCASS Client Terminals. This is a normal system behavior when Clearing Participants logon DCASS on a non-business day. Clearing Participants should then click OK to proceed to logon; and ii) Clearing Participants should verify the trades and positions against their own record. 3 For those Clearing Participants with DCASS OAPI programs, it is mandatory for them to conduct the connectivity test by using the new DCASS OAPI programs. After the connectivity test, Clearing Participants should complete and return to HKEx the DCASS Client Terminal / OAPI Connectivity Test Confirmation Form as set forth in Appendix III at or before 11:00 a.m. on 11 November D. Rollout Day (12 November 2012, Monday) Clearing Participants are highly recommended to check their DCASS logon using the new DCASS application (120B35) and the new DCASS OAPI programs before market open to ensure their clearing activities can be performed smoothly. To facilitate the Upgrade, a checklist is set forth in the Appendix IV for Clearing Participants reference. (2) Stabilization Period (12 November 2012, Monday to 23 November 2012, Friday) There will be a two-week stabilization period from 12 to 23 November During the stabilization period, in the unlikely situation that the new DCASS application (120B35) encounters irreparable incidents, HKEx may, as a last resort, trigger the fallback procedures to revert to the original DCASS application (115B30) for the resumption of clearing services for the derivatives market. The execution of fallback procedures will take about 3.5 hours before clearing services can be resumed. Clearing Participants will be informed once the fallback decision is made and upon completion of the fallback, through and other available communication channels. After the fallback, Clearing Participants are required to use the original DCASS application (115B30) and DCASS OAPI programs to connect to the DCASS host. Besides, Clearing Participants should fallback their internal systems, where applicable. In order to ensure the completeness and accuracy of trade and position information, Clearing Participants should validate all trades and positions upon completion of the fallback. Clearing Participants are required to maintain a record of their password administration changes during the stabilization period. In case of fallback, these administration changes may not be incorporated in the original DCASS application (115B30) and Clearing Participants are required to input the changes again. To provide a reference for Clearing Participants on the arrangement during Stabilization Period, a checklist is set forth in the Appendix V. 4 (3) Additional MR for the Upgrade In order to allow more Clearing Participants to verify the readiness of their internal systems for the Upgrade, an additional MR will be conducted on 3 November 2012 (Saturday). Clearing Participants should take this opportunity to verify the readiness of their internal systems by conducting the testing with the newly installed DCASS application. Clearing Participants who do not participate in the MR may not be able to secure successful logon via DCASS Client Terminal after the DCASS Application Upgrade. Clearing Participants with DCASS OAPI programs are highly recommended to participate in the MR to conduct end-to-end testing with the new programs in order to verify the readiness of their internal systems. Clearing Participants with DCASS OAPI programs who do not participate in the MR may not be allowed to use their DCASS OAPI programs for production after the Upgrade. Clearing Participants who wish to participate in the MR are required to submit and return the Registration Form for Participating in Market Rehearsal as set forth in the Appendix VI on or before 30 October An Information Package for the MR (with schedules, guidelines and rundowns) will be distributed to Clearing Participants in due course. Clearing Participants are highly recommended to secure sufficient operation staffs and support from their IT team / vendors at all times from the cutover day to the end of the stabilization period and during the additional MR.
