1 MyiLibrary Search & View Website Training Kompass Books 2009 Home Page Start looking for content by clicking on a subject name or See All to find all titles in that subject Find Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions information here

2 Left Nav Bar For more specific search queries, click Advanced Search to enter several parameters Enter terms to search full text, keywords, title, EAN/ISBN, author or publisher. Click Go to get your results. To find all books by a particular publisher, use these dropdown menus Create a personal account to store your searches, notes & bookmarks. All you need is an address to get started. Quick Search Enter search terms here Select to search either full text, keywords, title, EAN/ISBN, author or publisher Click Go to get your results.

3 Advanced Search Complete as many of these fields as desired to refine your search results Click Start Search to begin or Reset Search to clear entries and start over Search Results Result details are provided at the top & bottom of each screen, allowing for easy navigation of all results Go to the Product Detail by clicking the e-book title Go straight to the e-book by clicking Open Now

4 Search Results Nav Bar This nav bar will appear on all search results pages Search Results Nav Bar Features (Part 1) Conduct another Quick Search by entering in search terms & clicking Go Access the Advanced Search page by clicking here Save your search by entering a name & clicking Save NOTE: You must have an account to save searches. To sign up for an account, click the My Account link at the top of this page. Export a.csv file of this search by clicking here Customize your search results by clicking on one these links; sort by date published, by relevance or by title name

5 Search Results Nav Bar Features (Part 2) Refine searches by subject; only subjects applicable to the search results set will be displayed Refine searches by publisher; only publishers with titles applicable to the search results set will be displayed Refine searches by publisher; number in () is the title count; publishers with the largest title count will appear first Refine searches by starting letter or character Sign up for an individual account to save searches, bookmarks & settings by clicking here Product Detail Go straight to the e-book by clicking the e-book title or Open Now Find information about the e-book in these tabs: Full-Text Hits (if applicable), Additional Metadata, Table of Contents & Citation

6 Product Detail Nav Bar Conduct another Quick Search by entering in search terms & clicking Go Search the book s text by entering in a search term here Access the Advanced Search page by clicking here Sign up for an individual account to save searches, bookmarks & settings by clicking here With these links, you can return to search results or export to RefWorks or EndNote Reader, Table of Contents Tab The Table of Contents (TOC) tab allows you to view the different sections / chapters of the e-book. To go to a specific section / chapter, simply click the section / chapter name & you will be immediately taken to the starting page.

7 Reader, Search Tab The Search tab lets you run a new full text search within the specific e- book. You will be shown all pages in the book where your keyword search has appeared. Click on a page to jump to it. Reader, Notes Tab (Part 1) On the Notes tab, you can access your account (user name and password required). Once logged in, you can cut, copy and paste text from the e- book for future review. You can also retrieve a lost password or create an account by clicking the respective links on this tab.

8 Reader, Notes Tab (Part 2) To create a note once logged into your account, click on Create/Edit notes. You can also change your password or log out of your account by clicking the respective links. Reader, Notes Tab (Part 3) After clicking Create/Edit Notes, write your note in the notes admin window. To save note for future use, click Save New Note

9 Reader, Main Tool Bar Reader, Main Tool Bar Details Print multiple pages, subject to limits, by clicking here Use this button to go back just as you would in an internet browser Go to the previous page in the e- book Skip back or forward to the start of individual sections Export your bookmarks to RefWorks Download multiple pages, subject to limits, by clicking here Go to a specific page by entering the page number & hitting Enter on your keyboard Go to the next page in the e-book Review Export your citations for bookmarks the book, to EndNote including page number (if in Reader)

10 Reader, Other You can use this free online dictionary to find definitions You can navigate to the following pages using these links: Home, New Content, Resources & Reference Tools To adjust how a PDF appears on the screen, use my PDF functions. (This is only available for PDF-based e- books.) New Content Page Access this page by clicking on the New Content menu option Re-sort these e- books by selecting Sort by Publish Date from this dropdown Find new e- books recently added to your library here Click on a publisher name to jump to those new e-books Click on any of the titles to be taken to that e- book

11 Resources Page Access this page by clicking on the Resources menu option To open any of these resources, simply click on the resource name. The resource will open in a new window. These resources are subscription-based. The actual resources displayed will be based on your library s individual subscription. Reference Tools Page (Part 1) Access this page by clicking on the Reference Tools menu option These tools are available to all users and do not require a subscription. Click on any link to be taken to the tools available in that subject.

12 Reference Tools Page (Part 2) Example of the links available under particular subjects Click on any link to be taken to that tool; opens in a new window Suggest a Title Access this page by clicking on the Suggest a Title menu option Fill in the fields (at left) and hit Submit to suggest an e- book to add to the MyiLibrary platform. All fields, except Notes are required to complete the request.

13 Help Access this page by clicking on the Help menu option Download a PDF or PowerPoint version of this help file by clicking either of these links Jump back to the top of the page by clicking on this links My Account (Pre-Login) Access this page by clicking on the My Account or Login menu option or use the quick link in the left nav bar If you have forgotten your password, enter the address used for registration here and you ll receive an with your password To sign up for an account, simply enter a valid address and you will receive an shortly containing your login credentials

14 My Account (Post-Login) Find your saved searches, bookmarks and settings here If you have want to change your password, simply enter in the old password and then enter the new password twice (to confirm it) and click Submit Saved Searches Access this page by clicking on the Saved Searches menu option Find saved searches both Quick and Advanced Searches here Click on the Search Name to re-execute the search To delete a search, put a checkmark in the box here and then click Delete Selected

15 Bookmarks Access this page by clicking on the Bookmarks menu option To delete, print or any bookmark, put a check in this box and click the corresponding button Settings Access this page by clicking on the Settings menu option Set personalized settings for the Reader, Search Results and Citations here NOTE: Reader Settings only appear when using Internet Explorer 7 or higher. Once done, click Save to keep these settings
