2 **Please note that for purposes of this training document, the words application, app, and checklist are used interchangeably. ** 2
3 Getting to SyncAdmin Administrative functions for the Adesso Platform are handled via a website known as SyncAdmin. The URL for this site is: Alternatively, you can reach SyncAdmin from within the Adesso client. Make sure you are on the Home tab. For the M and W apps, click on the Go to System Admin button. For the CS and EI apps, click on the Go to Adesso Server Login button. The Home button is located at the bottom in the Adesso Client unless you have changed the style (see User Guide) to be Top Tab. Click here to go to SyncAdmin from the M and W apps. Click here to go to SyncAdmin from the CS and EI apps. 3
4 Logging in to SyncAdmin Once you have reached SyncAdmin, you will need to log in using your address and password. If you cannot remember your password, there is a link beneath the login box so you can reset it. Click here to log in (hitting the Enter key will not work). Enter your address and password here. If this is your first session, use the temporary password that was ed to you. Click here if you cannot remember your password. 4
5 SyncAdmin Home Page The Home page for SyncAdmin will list all of your subscribed applications. There is also a side navigation panel. Click here to change your profile information. Click here to change your password. Click here to download the Adesso Client / Crystal Reports (discussed in Installation Instructions). All of these links will route you to the Adesso website. Clicking on any of these will take you to a page where you can request to be unsubscribed from an application. You should not need to use this feature. 5

7 SyncAdmin Home Page The link most relevant to you will be MANAGED ACCOUNTS. 7
8 My Managed Accounts Once you have clicked on the MANAGED ACCOUNTS tab, you should see the screen below. Click on the + sign to see all of the applications available within the account. Click here to open account details. 8
9 Account Information The account information screen will show various account details, including name, description, owner, and number of users. You can change the account name, description, or owner by clicking on the Modify Account button. DO NOT click this button. You will delete the entire application. 9
10 Application Information Once you have selected a specific application (checklist), you will see details related to that application (manager, creator, etc). Click here to open a specific app. Check here if you do not want users to remember their application password in the client. 10
11 Add a New User to the Account Once you are in the AEP account, go to the Users tab and click Add Users. Go to this tab. Click here to add a new user. 11
12 Add a New User to the Account Adding new Users is as simple as entering addresses and clicking the Add Users button. An will automatically be sent to new Users with a temporary password. If you check this box, the user(s) will not receive an with an initial password. You will need to set the password yourself and provide to the user(s). Add addresses (up to 10 at a time) here. Add a personalized message to include in the initial here. When you have finished filling in addresses, click here to add the users to the AEP account. 12
13 Add a New User to the Application(s) Once you have added Users to the AEP account, you will need to add them to the applications. You can view / select applications on the sidebar. Clicking here will minimize / maximize the list of applications. Click on the one to which you would like to add a user/ users. 13
14 Add a New User to the Application(s) Users will NOT be able to download applications until you have completed this step for every application to which they should be subscribed. Available users are those users that you have added to the AEP account. Click on one or shift+click (cmd+click on Macs) to select multiple. Click Add>> to add selected users to the application. Do not forget: you must repeat this step for every application (checklist) to which a user will need access. Remove users from the application by highlighting their names in the box to the right and clicking the <<Remove button. 14
15 Accessing Groups After adding Users to applications, you can create / modify groups in order to set the level of access to the applications. First, make sure you are in the correct application (the example below is AEP_CS). Application name is listed in these two places. 15
16 Accessing Groups Go to the User Groups tab. Depending on your access level, you may only be permitted to view the available groups. Groups can be managed as indicated in the picture below. Go to this tab. If you see this message, you do not have administrative rights to alter groups. Add a new group by entering a name here and then clicking <<Add Group. Delete a group by highlighting in the Current User Groups: box and then clicking the Delete Group button. To rename, highlight in the Current User Groups: box, enter the new name in the Rename Group To: field, and then click the Rename To>> button. 16
17 View/Add/Delete Users From a Group To view / add / remove users from a particular group, go to the Group Users link and follow the instructions as indicated below. Please remember that this process will need to be repeated for each application. Go to this link. Highlight the applicable group (in this case, Desktop Users) in the Select Group: box and then click the View button. Current group users will be listed here (only after clicking View). Highlight in the Current Group Users box and click <<Remove to delete a user from the group Highlight in the Available Users (Group): box and click Add>> to add users to the group. 17
18 Controlling Group Permissions Once you have set up your groups, you can control the level of access / permissions for each group. Go to the Permissions link under the User Groups tab and select the appropriate group. You should then see the screen on the next page. Go to this link. If you receive this message, you cannot alter permissions. Click here to view permissions details for the selected group Select the group for which you would like to view/modify permissions here. 18
19 Controlling Group Permissions Use this column to allow users to read all, no, or only certain (ctrl+click or cmd+click for multiple) fields in a table. Use this column to allow users to modify all, no, or only certain (ctrl+click or cmd+click for multiple) fields in a table. Checking these boxes (where available) will grant the group the ability to add, delete, or export records from a table. Tables are listed here. For this app, these are the actual checklist tables. Checking Modify Owned Records will enable a person to modify records he/she has created. If it s unchecked, the person will not be able to modify after entering data. Control what views a group is allowed to see by selecting them here. 19
20 Controlling Group Permissions Make sure to click the Apply button after you have made any changes to a group s permissions and before moving on to permissions for another group. 20
21 Controlling Group Sync Settings Go to the Sync Settings link on the User Groups tab. Select the applicable group and the table (you may only select one at a time). To view the current settings for that group/table combination, click View. Make sure to click Apply after making any changes. Click here to select a group. Click here to select sync type. Bi-Directional: data are sent to the server and downloaded from the server on sync. Server-to-Client: data are only downloaded from the server on sync. Client-to-Server: data are only sent to the server on sync. Once synced, a user can no longer view this data. No Sync: user group will be unable to sync. Build your own sync rule(s) here. Conflict resolution occurs when one user enters data into a field and syncs, and then another user enters data into the same field and syncs. Ask user: the user will be prompted to overwrite server data, overwrite local copy, or keep both records. Admin can set conflict resolution to always overwrite server data, always overwrite local copy, or always keep both records in this drop box. 21
22 Controlling Group Sync Settings You can build your own sync rules with the Sync Rule builder (see below). 22
23 Messages From the Messages tab, you can create a message that will go out to all users and will appear as a pop-up in Adesso the next time they synchronize. Go to this tab. Enter message Subject here. Enter the body of the message here. Click here to send. 23
24 Sync Activities In the Sync Activities tab, you can view sync activities for a certain time period and, optionally, filter by user , machine name, or sync status. Go to this tab. Select a date range here. Filter by user or machine name. Click here to filter by sync status (completed, aborted, failed, etc). Click here to view the report. Check to see when people have authenticated / pulled data from the AEP web app. Checking this box will add a column with additional sync details. 24
25 Sync Activities If you did not check the box to Show All Sync Details, you can click on the + button to view Sync Details for one record at a time. 25
26 Advanced Features In the Advanced Features tab, you can specify in what order you would like the application tables to be synchronized. Simply highlight one of the tables and use the arrow keys to move up and down. Moves all the way to the top. Moves up one. Moves down one. Moves all the way to the bottom. 26
27 Additional Tips User Permissions If you would like for an individual user (as opposed to a user group) to have a particular set of permissions, you can set those under the Users tab. The process is the same as for a user group. Go to this tab. Set permissions here. Set sync options here. 27
28 Additional Tips Application Users The application user Sarda, Naval is used to control the Web Services that link the AEP applications to the AEP reporting website. Do not delete this user. Do not delete this user! 28
