2 Information Systems Checklist Ø Southside account - Go to o Validate that you can access your account. o This account will allow you to sign into networked computers. o Official College Address. All official information will be sent to this address. Ø Access the MySVCC portal Go to o Access MySVCC to left of the picture o Set up your password o Grants access to SIS/HR, Blackboard, Student (Google) o Blackboard Use MySVCC or go to Create information for your students online (access your syllabus, assignments, etc.) o Student Information System (SIS/HR) Use MySVCC Check your class rosters Input grades at the end of the term Make sure that you have a copy of the important dates. Follow the drop dates o Human Resource System (SIS/HR) Use MySVCC Validate and update your personal data name address phone Input an emergency contact o Administrative Information System (AIS) Mainly for use by the Business Office or Budget Managers Access to Accounts Payable, Vendors, Budgets o Student Google Use MySVCC Access if you would like to use Google , sites or documents This is considered the student s official account with the college. o SAILS Student Assistance and Interventions for Learning Success Providing support for retention o QUINN Decision Support System Question Information Navigator Access to Financial and Student data (FA, Records) Ø IssueTrak Go to o Validate that you can access your account o Set up a new password o Use to report any problems or issues o If you are having academic issues with any of your students, you can use the Quick Pick called Student Alert to let Counseling know that they may need to contact them. 6 Student ü ü ü Free Account - Accessible through your MySVCC page Required for all college communication Access to various Google applications through this account (Google Apps for Education) These other applications are accessible through your student gmail account. Go to your Gmail account and look in the upper left corner. You will see links for calendar, documents (docs), and sites. Google Drive is coming and soon your Google Docs account will be upgraded to Drive. Utilize the links below to learn more about Drive and how it works. Google Calendar - Google Calendar enables users to easily schedule meetings, create multiple calendars accessible online, and share calendars with others. They are also easily accessible through mobile devices. Google Docs - Web-based documents, spreadsheets, drawings and presentations that let users edit the same file at the same time so you always have the latest version. Google Sites - Google Sites is an easy way to create web pages for intranets or class projects. You control what's public, and what's private. No coding or HTML required. Google Drive - Google Drive is your place to keep single up-to-date versions of all of your files online. (NEW - Google Docs within our Google Apps system will be upgraded to Google Drive very soon.) 7 Faculty will use the Faculty Center to review his/her class rosters and input the final grades. Students use the Student Center in SIS to check your academic records. You can retrieve: your grades, class schedule, unofficial transcripts, make payments, and check your financial aid status. Staff will use the system to perform specific job duties. Page 7 of 13 U

8 IssueTrak is a system that provides you with accessibility to reach our knowledge base as well as input problems that you are having with any of information technology related issues. Accessing and Logging In 1. Navigate to 2. Input your username (first.last) 3. Input your password 4. Click the Sign In button 5. You will be brought to the welcome page. Change Password 1. Click on My SVCC 2. Click on Change Password 3. Input your new password 4. Retype your new password 5. Click Change Password button Page 8 of 13 U

9 Southside v Open Internet v In the address bar, type NO WWW. v In the username/domain blank put your username, which is Firstname.Lastname v In the password blank, put your password v Click Sign In. v To change your password, you must be logged into the network to change your password. This program is a Google Gmail account. If you have any problems with your network account or account, please use our IssueTrak system to submit a ticket or contact After you have successfully logged into your account, continue through the following steps to enroll in the self-service password reset program and/or to reset your password. 10 Visit the Password Self-Service link, Login using your SVCC account credentials: Firstname.Lastname and your password Click Sign In. After successfully logging in to , click Enroll Now to begin. You must specify two secret security questions and answers. Click Save to complete enrollment. To change your password click Change Password. Type your current password in the upper box and enter a new password or click Generate for a randomly selected password. Click OK to confirm. You have successfully changed your password. Click SIGN OUT, located at the top right, beside your name, to sign out. U Page 10 of 13
