Our role is to keep track and help you keep track of your stock awards, as well as execute your trades and communicate relevant plan information to you. To make all of this as fast and easy as possible for you, we have created benefitaccess.com, our web site for stock plan participants. The following guide provides instructions for activating your online stock plan account. Why should you activate your benefitaccess.com account? Benefitaccess.com allows you to view in one place all your equity compensation. That would include restricted stock awards, stock option grants and any shares you purchased through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You can also model your potential net proceeds, place real-time trades and set language, currency and communication preferences online. When will I receive my log-in information? Morgan Stanley Smith Barney s activation information generally two days after we load your company s stock plan data on benefitaccess.com. If we don t have an address for you, we will send the information by mail. What if I need help activating my online account? Please call or

3 Step 2: Verify your identity This is where you will validate your identity before moving on to create your user name and password for future access to the site. Note that depending on your firm, you may be asked to provide either your Social Security number (SSN), your Personal Unique Identifier (PUID), your Global Identification number (GID) or a combination of these. Step 3: Create user name and password Your user name and password must begin with a letter, contain at least six characters, and exclude spaces and special characters (example: # or *). Also, your password must contain a number and an upper-case and lower-case letter. 5 Step 6: Review The final step in the activation process is review. You will be shown a summary page of your account information and a button to log onto benefitaccess.com.
