1 IBM Kenexa Assess Quick Reference Guide This document is intended to be a quick reference for those functions used most frequently by client users. For more detailed instructions and tutorials, please visit our IBM Kenexa Assess on Cloud Support Portal. Most common functions 1. Create Session 2. Search Administrative functions 3. Manage Users 4. Create Branding 5. Manage Batches
2 CREATE SESSION Sign into the Assess system with your login credentials. Once logged in, locate the Create Session icon in the middle of the home page
3 When creating a session for a test taker, you will want to ensure the * fields are complete as they are required. Test taker IDs need to be unique so it is recommended that address be used for this field. Session Assessment Title - Selecting this option will bring up a list of assessments you have available in your assessment library. Session Completion Deadline - System default is 7 days but can be adjusted to your preference or internal requirements. Session Invitation: If you would like the system to automatically the assessment session information to your candidate, please ensure The Test Taker entered above field is checked. Session results report: If you would like the session results report ed to you or any other representative within your organization, please ensure The Session Creator and/or These additional addresses fields are selected.
4 Adding an assessment to your candidate s session, you can either browse the library by entering the assessment name in the search field or you can scroll and page through the available library. Once an assessment is selected, a description of the assessment is presented. This assists with ensuring you are selecting the appropriate assessment for your needs.
5 Once you have completed the necessary information, you will need to select create session. If session invitation to was selected, an with the session details will be sent to your candidate. If this option was not selected, you can administer the assessment to your candidate by selecting the link in the results section.
6 SEARCH To search for a test taker, locate the search icon on the home page The search section provides multiple options for your search criteria. Enter the desired details for your search.
7 Once you receive your search results, you will have two options to view - by Test Taker or by Sessions. The Sessions tab generally provides the information desired.

9 MANAGE USERS Creating a new user for Assess - By selecting the Create New User icon in the lower left hand side of the screen the Create User section will appear to the right. Ensure the * fields are completed and the appropriate user role and locale are selected. Once complete, select save. Role Descriptions: Super User General User Results Only Branding Only User Mgmt Only Reset Sessions Only Create sessions only This role has the basic functions to administer assessments but also the higher level functions such as creating batches, managing users and branding, and configuring trial tests. This user can essentially administer tests and view results. This role only has access to view results. This role only has access to edit branding. This role only has access to manage users. This role can only Reset Sessions. It is intended to be paired with another role so a client can limit who has access to reset sessions. Must be used as an ADD ON ROLE This role can create sessions but cannot view results or perform any higher level tasks.
10 CREATE BRANDING Locate the 'Create Branding' icon on the home page
11 Select the element from the menu that you would like to brand. Once complete, save and publish your changes. Previews are available prior to publishing.
