Introduction Outlook Express is an application that is used to retrieve e-mail from a mail server. Unlike Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express moves the email from the server to the local PC.

Note: You should not use Outlook Express if Outlook is currently installed on your system Initial Setup 1. Pres the Start button and select Programs, Outlook Express.

Note: If this is the first time that you have started Outlook Express on this PC you may see the following message, if not proceed to step 3. As an example, if you are using a dial-up account or a DSL account from Southwestern Bell, the outgoing mail server is mail.swbglobal.net. The Incoming mail server would still be the name of the mail server on the Trellix network, i.e.: trlxs02.trlx.com. NOTE: Contact the Help Desk for the exact name of the mail servers to use. 6. Enter the user s account name (typically the username) and the account password. Also, check the Remember Password option and press the Next button.

8 12. Select the General tab and modify the information as needed. 13. Select the Servers tab and modify the information as needed. NOTE: If you change your password on the Trellix network you will need to change your password here.

If you are connecting from a location outside of the Trellix network, you may want to leave your s on the Mail Server so that they will still be there when you go into your office. If so, perform the next Step. 16. In the Delivery section at the bottom of this window, check the two options shown above.
