4 A Dark and Stormy Night January 26, 2014 Full-Service WILL be required January 26 and beyond Over 50% of mailers still need to transition USPS employees are not fully trained Mailers have 88 days to comply

5 What Happens at Midnight? Automation-rate mailings will require Full-Service preparation Stragglers will scramble to adopt Full-Service at the last minute USPS resources will be strained New validations include: Was edoc submitted correctly? Are barcodes on pieces, trays and pallets readable?

6 Grab Your Flashlight What Mailers Can Expect Mailers who prepare now will be ready for January 26 In-depth Full-Service validations start in July Mailers can still rework a mailing to address errors Up to 3 mailings with Full-Service errors will pass Your tools for success: Unique barcodes Electronic documentation (edoc)

7 A Scary Sound What s Uniqueness? IM Barcodes are required on all pieces, trays and pallets Each barcode contains: Your Mailer ID Destination information A serial number field The serial number must stay unique across all your mailings for at least 45 days

8 The Creaky Step Uniqueness Help Most software products have uniqueness tracking built-in USPS won t be penalizing uniqueness errors until July

9 The Ghostly Apparition Electronic Documentation Required documentation must be submitted electronically Postage Statements Qualification Reports Bundle and Pallet Reports 3 methods = confusion over which one to use New processes mean time and training required

10 Behind the Curtain edoc Made Easy Most presort software contains edoc functionality already Get your MIDs and CRIDs from the Business Customer Gateway Ensure your MIDs, CRIDs and permit information are correct in your software

11 3 Paths Into the Mist Choosing Your Method Use Postal Wizard, If ALL your mailings are under 10k pieces and simple Use Mail.XML, If your software supports it, and you only make minor changes after sorting (mailing date, piece weight) Otherwise, use Mail.dat

12 TEM Got Your Ankles? TEM no longer blocks your path to Full-Service Use TEM as a testing sandbox, but USPS interaction is no longer required TEM ensures your information was set up properly in your software

13 Stepping Through the Veil The First Mailing Notify your USPS contacts NOW that you ll be moving to Full-Service Test your reports in TEM before the live mailing Bring in your printed paperwork just in case Be prepared to make changes

14 Beyond the Graveyard Life After January 26 USPS w ill validate additional data starting in July: Verifying Mailer IDs Enforcing uniqueness Verifying Service Type IDs Watch your Mailer Scorecard for best results
