Name of problem Auxiliary release to support Avaya Aura TM Communication Manager (CM) 5.2 and to address field issues found in Avaya Integrated Management Release 5.0 Enterprise Network Management. Problem description Avaya delivered a major release of Integrated Management 5.0 in Jan These release notes describe the contents of an auxiliary release, Integrated Management release 5.2. The Network Management Release 5.2 which is an offer under Integrated Management release 5.2 includes the following: Network Management Console with VoIP System View. Provisioning and Installation Manager for Branch Gateways. ENM Backup and Easy Restore Utility. Configuration Backup and Restore Manager. G430 Device Manager. Software Update Manager. Secure Access Administration. Communication Manager Branch Edition Central Manager. Enhancements Avaya Network Management Console with VoIP System View Support for the Avaya Communication Manager Release 5.2 Automatically configures SNMP on the CM 5.2 to work with the Avaya NMC Network Discovery Wizard. All digital and analog phones that work with the CM 5.2 are discovered and displayed in the Avaya NMC Support for the following functions of the Avaya Communication Manager running on an S8300D: Auto discovery and manual addition Modify and delete operations Fault monitoring Ping and Telnet operations Support for S8400 as an Enterprise Survivable Server Support for S8400 as an Enterprise Survivable Server. Support for the following functions of the G430 Media Gateway: Automatic Discovery of a G430 by the Network Discovery Wizard. Manual addition of a G430 device. Display of discovered and manually added G430 in the Subnet view and the Device Type view.

2 The Network Management Console System View discovery associates the G430 with its Communication Manager and endpoints. Add, Modify and Delete administration operation on the G430 device. Port connection table displays for the G430 in the same manner as for the G450 device. Option to launch management applications like Device Manager, Web interface, Telnet and Voice applications like Avaya Site Administration, Avaya Multisite Administration. Avaya Fault and Performance Manager and Avaya Voice Announcement Manager in the context of selected G430 device. Display of SNMP notifications generated by the G430 in the Network Management. Console Event log. The Network Management Console supports new traps for the G430 media gateway. EM200 expansion modules, and new Media Modules MM714B and MM118. The Network Management Console fault monitoring service monitors the G430 devices for faults in the same manner as the G450 device. Support for new Extreme devices Summit X150-24t, Summit X150-48t, Summit X150-24p, Summit WM 200, and Summit WM 2000 Support for Communication Manager Branch Edition (Formerly known as Distributed Office) Release 2.0. The Network Management Console provides the option of selecting the following Telephony devices to be discovered by the Network Management Console network discovery: Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition G430 Media Gateway. Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition G450 Media Gateway. Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition G430 Telephony Server. Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition G450 Telephony Server. Support for setting Syslog Server parameters: Now with the Enterprise Network Management, you can choose to log important events and activities performed within the Enterprise Network to a Syslog host (A server or machine that receives syslog messages). This enables a centralized logging location where multiple instances of the Enterprise Network Management can log their activities. The Syslog Server tab of the Avaya Network Management Console Options dialog box lets you configure the syslog servers where logs are logged. You can configure one or multiple syslog hosts. Support for setting Security Banner text: The Security Banner is launched once the Network Management Console applet is loaded. The Security Banner tab of the options dialog box lets you change or edit the text on the Security Banner. You can also choose to not display the Security Banner once the Network Manager Console applet is loaded. Support for Quick Log Viewer: The Network Management Console keeps a log of important events and activities performed within the Enterprise Network. The Quick Log Viewer allows you to quickly view the important events taking place in the system. You can use the Quick Log Viewer to view all these activities. Support for I55 software and traps. Support for Mozilla Firefox 3.0 web browser. Support for viewing Logs using the ENM Log Viewer: The ENM Log Viewer is used to display log files generated by the Enterprise Network Management applications in a user friendly tabular format. The log file contains information about actions performed and events taking place in the Enterprise Network Management Offer. Support for JRE 1.6.0_11. Support for MM714B/MM314CR media models. Standard Local Survivability (SLS) extracts extended to all Avaya Media Gateways supported in PIM. These include G250, G250-BRI, G250-DCP, G250-DS1, G350, G430 and G450(including G450R2) Support for extracting the Incoming Call Handling Treatment (ICHT) survivability data from the Communication Manager Form for G250, G350, G430 and G450 gateways. PIM 5.2 extracts the following ICHT data (On a per trunk group basis): Trunk Group Number Called Number Called Len Del Insert Digit Handling (In/Out) Allows VLAN configuration between for the G250 and G350 managers (the previously allowed range was ). CMSE is replaced with Java Implementation of the CM Adaptor. Support for JRE 1.6.0_11. Mozilla Fire Fox 3.0 support. Avaya ENM Backup Utility and ENM Easy Restore Utility ENM Backup Utility: The Enterprise Network Management (ENM) Backup Utility wizard is used to back up multiple configuration files and databases of the Network Management Console (NMC), Provisioning and Installation Manager (PIM) and Communication Manager Branch Edition Central Manager (formerly known as Distributed Office Central Manager) applications. The ENM Backup Utility allows you to store the backup of configuration files and database on the ENM server or on a remote FTP server. The backup operation can take place immediately or can be scheduled. ENM Easy Restore Utility: The ENM Easy Restore Utility is used to restore the backup taken by the ENM Backup Utility. You can enter the path of the backup archive stored either on the ENM or FTP server to restore the data present in it. Note: You should use the newly introduced ENM Backup Utility and ENM easy Restore Utility for all the backup and restore needs of the supported ENM applications. In case of upgrade you would notice that DOCM Backup Tool and DOCM Restore Tool have been removed from this release; PIM restore is still available for restoring any previously backed up PIM data Avaya Inc. 4 Avaya Configuration Backup and Restore Manager The Avaya Network Configuration Manager application's name has been changed to Avaya Configuration Backup and Restore Manager. It was known as the Avaya Network Configuration Manager till Release 5.0. The Avaya Configuration Backup and Restore Manager Release 5.2 supports the following Communication Manager Branch Edition 2.0 new devices: G430 Telephony Server G450 Telephony Server Support for G430 H.248 Media Gateway Avaya G430 Device Manager The Avaya G430 Device is a new media gateway targeting small and medium branches of 1 to 150 users. G430 is a replacement for G350 and is also a variation of G250. The G430 Device supports three G700 form factor media modules and two expansion modules. Each expansion module can receive up to two G700 form factor media modules, thus allowing the gateway to cover a wide spectrum of users at an optimal cost. The Avaya G430 Manager provides full management capabilities for Avaya G430 devices. This includes the ability to view three aspects of the device management: Avaya Software Update Manager Device Manager: Provides a view of the configuration of the device, including VLAN configuration, port redundancy, port mirroring, switch connected addresses and traps. Routing Manager: Provides a view of the Layer 3 routing and forwarding functions of the device. Policy Based Routing Manager: Provides a view of the configuration and maintenance of Policy Based Routing on the Avaya G430 device. Supports the G430 H.248 gateway. The new gateway supports three G700 Form Factor Media Modules and two Expansion Modules. Each Expansion Module (EM200) can receive up to two G700 Form Factor Media Modules. Supports the S8300D Communication Manager platform. The CMBE, Gateway, Data Switches, and Circuit Pack Targets Tab Device Filter display the CM Main IP Address filter and Main IP Address column. The ASCA Report displays: The CM-Gateway compatibility details. The CMM details. The higher or the latest versions of software available for upgrade for TN and media modules. Warns about conditions in which failure, disruption, or simultaneous download of two or more DS1 boards from the same PN may occur before the DS1 board downloads the latest software version. Displays BIOS settings in the new BIOS tab for 87xx and 85xx Media Servers. Suggests the Component Upgrade Sequence (LSP, ESS, and Main). Utilizes the CM as TFTP Server for GWs Upgrade on S8300. The LSP-Tftp Upgrade Mode for Media Gateway and media modules. CM Upgrade - Error resistant download using HTTPS. Supports upgrade paths from 3.x to 4.x, 4.x to 5.x, and 5.x to 5.2. Provides the most secure HTTPS download protocol, in addition to TFTP and HTTP file transfer protocols, for CM upgrades Avaya Inc. All Rights Reserved. Page 4

This is to ensure that you maintain a proper CM upgrade sequence Provides editing hardware versions of media modules. Displays the log with the job owner, instead of the user, providing improved traceability. Avaya Secure Access Administration The current release supports the Avaya G430 Media Gateway The new gateway supports three G700 Form Factor Media Modules and two Expansion Modules. Each Expansion Module (EM200) can receive up to two G700 form factor Media Modules. Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition Central Manager 2.0 Support for the Avaya G450 platform, which can support hundreds of stations. Support for the following Avaya wireless IP telephones: Avaya 2402, 2410, 2420 digital phones - two-wire digital phones featuring a sleek design, improved ergonomics, flexibility, and enterprise-class voice quality. Avaya 9610, 9620, 9630, 9640, 9650 SIP phones - deliver standards-based SIP telephony and advanced telephone capabilities. Supports up to 2000 branches. Flexible capacities for voice mail. Voice mail parameters, such as mailbox size, can be configured. Three new administrative roles: Auditor: Read-only access to all Communication Manager Branch Edition-CM functions. Security Administrator: Can create and edit new stations, and administrative users. System Administrator: Has read/write privileges for the entire system (With the exception of creating new stations or administrative users). The Auto Attendant features provide support for up to 3 promotional announcements. User control of the number of prompt repeats (1, 2 or 3) for both day and night menus. Automatic refresh of job details while providing summary information about the job operations status. Control over the retention period for logs and alarms. Customers setting up an SIP Trunk Template have UUI/UCID support. A New Feature Access Code, Authorization Code, enables callers to override a station s calling privileges. System Parameters Template contains the following new features: Features tab: Display Advice of Charge (Japan only), Copy UCID for Conference/Transfer and Automatic Exclusion Coverage/Hold. Localization tab: Replace Unavailable CPN and new country codes. CDR tab: Use Enhanced Format. New Private Networking tab: add ability to configure the UUI/UCID values for the private network SIP trunk. Voice Mail System Parameters Template: The customer can configure the System Greeting announcement. The Voice Mailbox Template now contains a Play System Greeting option Avaya Inc. 6 Constraints Users should not upgrade a system running ENM 5.0 IP Office support to ENM 5.2. The ENM 5.2 IP Office support will be supported in the ENM 5.2 service pack release. ENM 5.2 does not co-reside with AeM 5.2 as ENM 5.2 uses Postgres 8.3, while AeM uses Postgres 8.1. Backup before upgrading from previous Enterprise Network Management Release Recommended. Download Ent_Net_Mgm_5_2_24_0.iso can be obtained from downloads section for Integrated Management (all applications) as Network Management Release 5.2 on support.avaya.com. Install instructions Service-interrupting? Please read the following procedure before you download Network Management 5.2 Yes During installation, the installer checks if an old version of Enterprise Network Management is already installed and decides if the existing installation can be upgraded. The installer allows one to install Network Management 5.2 on an existing Enterprise Network Management 5.0 installation with or without service packs. Installing Network Management 5.2, Ent_Net_Mgm_5_2_24_0.iso: 1. Before you click the download link, you need to be logged in as "administrator" on the Windows PC where the product resides. If you are not logged in as "administrator," then close this file and log in again as "administrator." Open a Windows browser and point to this page. 2. Close all applications (including Enterprise Network Management 5.0 applications) 3. To download the installer, click Network Management Burn the Ent_Net_Mgm_5_2_24_0.iso on a CD. 5. The installer is run automatically when the CD is inserted in the CD drive. If this does not happen, run autorun.exe from CD s root folder. 6. Follow the instructions on each screen.
